"We chose Cafe Adelaide because of its proximity to where we were staying off of Canal Street. Also, we'd seen a recent profile on one of the food channels about The Swizzle Stick. We were not disappointed. The menu is "New Creole", and is worth exploring. The fish selected for the evening's gulf fish and shrimp was black drum, and was absolutely perfect. Never had fish so well-cooked. The Shrimp Courtbouillon was an excellent take on shrimp and grits. The Swizzle Stick drinks are definitely worth trying; their take on a sweet potato casserole in a bar drink (they use Woodford Reserve bourbon, excellent choice!) is unique, and their signature Adelaide Swizzle is a well-kept secret. Desserts are typically NOLA, quite rich, so share."

"The celebration was a 90th Birthday for my husband's Aunt. Our table of five all felt like we were pampered and attended by the entire staff of Cafe Adelaide. Our food was great, and they even accommodated our store-bought birthday cake into the meal. We appreciated their gracious efforts on our part and will definitely recommend this restaurant to others. Love the atmosphere and food!"

"Adelaide is starting to slip a bit. The service is not nearly as solid as it used to be, the pace at which our plates come out was staggered... and the quality of the food is approaching subpar. I've always been a big fan of Adelaide (I especially love the martini deal at lunch) but will likely go to Commander's next time. Too bad."

"Had Easter Brunch there. Shrimp Courtbillon was not quite what I expected but was delicious nontheless. Large head-on lightly fried shrimp in an excellent non-tomato based sauce served over stone-ground grits! Excellent, albeit not a traditional courtbillon. They had non-advertized free drink specials for those wearing appropriate Easter bonnets. Visit to the tables by Lalli Brennan was unexpected and nice. Service was excellent."

"Have been here three times in the past 6 months. By far this was the poorest showing for the cafe adelaide. Go for lunch but skip the dinner. Both I and my partner tought the food was overcooked and just not up to the standards we have come to expect here. Service was very good and the menu just OK. Had the Escargot & Gnocchi and a Baby Spinach Salad partner had Shrimp Rèmoulade and Shrimp Courtbouillon. The escargot was served as a soup with heavy salt and the shrimp was overcooked. The desert was very good --White Chocolate Biscuit Pudding. Maybe it was just an off night -- but I would skip the cafe adelaide and head to other places for dinner. I'll go back for lunch again."

"We were guests of the hotel. Our breakfast experience was much better than our dinner experience. Service at breakfast was super. Dinner service was slow and the server brought us the wrong salad. Although the turtle soup and shrimp with grits were true Creole dishes served in a Brennan restaurant, neither the food nor the service (at least at dinner) were what we expected from a Brennan restaurant."

"We ate at Cafe Adelaide three times during our family vacation in New Orleans. We loved the food, especially the desserts. The white chocolate biscuit pudding is not to be missed. Because the bar is in a hotel lobby, it's good for an early drink with kids."
