A word from Cafe 501 - Classen Curve
Cafe 501, a long-time favorite of Edmond epicureans, brings its colorful, European-inspired cuisine to the Classen Curve. From its humble beginnings as a "little lunch spot" in the heart of historic Edmond, 501 has poised itself as one of central Oklahoma’s most loved eateries. A second location, at 5825 NW Grand Blvd., features the original’s eclectic "French-Californian" approach to dining with a harmonious balance between a hand-crafted menu and a sophisticated yet casual atmosphere that is true to Oklahoma.

Cafe 501 has become synonymous with a discriminating taste in good wine and great foods. From rustic stone oven pizzas, to fresh, uniquely designed salads and delicious specialty sandwiches on house-made artisan breads, Cafe 501 offers tastes delectable enough for even the most discerning diners. When evening arrives, Cafe 501 changes from a buzzing lunch spot to a romantic bistro with soft lighting, an attentive full-service staff, and an expanded dinner menu.

Diner Reviews
  • "We are from out of town and have been to this restaurant often since it opened. Every time we are in OKC we go there for lunch and/or dinner. We never have eaten brunch there. The service and food have always been very good. I would say the food is upscale Southern. One of the owners of the restaurant is there regularly and she often comes by our table just to ask about our dining experience and to thank us for coming to their restaurant. The staff are always professional, and food doesn't take long to arrive at the table. Eating at Café 501 is a consistently good experience. I love their sangria, both red and white. Because the bar figures prominently in the restaurant, the ambience is adult-type. "

  • "We always bring guests to 501- you guys never disappoint! We had a guest from London who insisted on returning to 501 on his second visit. It's a favorite place for celebrations and a perfect excuse to spoil ourselves for Sunday brunch. I cannot speak more highly of this place!"

  • "Really trendy decor and an ample bar. Most of the specialty cocktails are very very sweet; be specific about what you want when you order. Staff is friendly and attentive. Really liked the shrimp & grits. Spicy!"

  • "Went to have dinner with two old friends hadn't seen in a while and the staff was super-friendly, letting us sit and talk for hours without pressuring us to leave (it was mid-week and not too crowded so we weren't taking up a needed table). Also, had a great bartender making us some old-fashioneds, which are not easy to make--they were delicious. Highly highly recommend."

  • "I ordered the naked fillet. 30 dollars for a tiny piece of beef, we have found far better meals for 20 elsewhere."

  • "We eat here regularly and it is always very good. That was not the case with brunch today. My wife's salad was not fresh at all, but the manager quickly took care of the situation and brought her another salad that was very fresh and what we expect from one of our favorite lunch spots."

  • "reservation at 12:15, waited an extended period of time to get off which was less than great, it was busy but not that busy"

  • "The food is always amazing at Café 501! Great variety and ingredients. The first time I went was during the lunch rush. It was crazy busy and my 1 hour lunch turned into an almost 2 hour lunch but the food was awesome so I gave it another shot. Went in for an early lunch, and there were only a few people there. Still took quite a while to get our food and the waiter was distracted at best. If 501 would put more focus on the service it provides to the customers, it would be a 5 star restaurant. The brunch is my favorite in the city!!"

  • "Had high hopes, liked the decor. We were seated close to 20 minutes beyond the reserved time. Our waiter was attentive but they may have been short staffed."

  • "Perhaps they weren't having a good night. The food was fine. The wine list not that great - too trendy rather than good wines. The bigger problem was service. The appetizer was OK, but the salads came out well before we were done. Same thing with the entrée. We were shoving plates around on the table but the server wouldn't take the hint. They weren't busy, so hard to know why they were in such a rush. Won't be back."

  • "Cafe 501 dinner salad is great w/ahi tuna on top of it. The filet steak taste good and can be served with sides you want. Great service, friendly staff and food has good flavor."

  • "The food was delicious! Although, a little pricey and the tables were a little close together. But it was a great experience and I would highly recommend this restaurant."

  • "The service and food were wonderful. My only constructive comment would be this…My boyfriend and I had reservations and were sat promptly which was great. My boyfriend is a large, muscular man. The table we were set at was a wooden, narrow one against a wall. I would appreciate in the future that the hostess be more aware of his/her guest and seat them in a more suitable table. Thank you, Nina"

  • "My wife and I often choose Cafe 501 as our special occasion restaurant. But, it is perfectly suited for a casual stop-in or group dinner. The food is always great and the wait staff is well educated on the menu and bar offerings."

  • "The food is good. Our salads arrived before our first course/appetizer. The first course arrived before we had finished our salads. No one seemed to think this was strange. We hurried, so we could eat the calamari while it was still warm! Then before we finished, the waiter began clearing our plates with calamari still on the plate! At this point, I asked the waiter if we could slow the pace down for the meal, as I was feeling rushed. When we received the main course, the server went to take the bread from the table. This dining experience was a disappointment. I haven't even begun to mention the ambiance. ZERO. My husband and I began to laugh when we both came up with "Denny's" at the same time!"

  • "Our dinner at Cafe 501 - Classen Curve was business-related. Not only did we enjoy a wonderful meal, but we were able to enjoy great conversation without feeling like the need to speak loudly or strain to hear each other [a wonderful feature]. The meal and service were fantastic. Do NOT bypass the dessert menu!"

  • "We dined at Cafe 501 before going to symphony. We had 6 in our party and we were seated at a round table in the corner. The fish special was very good. Two people had the seared salmon and said it was very good. Service was very attentive. The apple pie was great. Only complaint was that the coffee was cold but the waitress brought us fresh hot coffee as soon as we brought it to her attention"

I would definitely have dinner here again. I have eaten here for lunch and enjoyed that menu as well. Will definitely eat dinner here again!"

  • "Hostesses were great. Waitress was good, but did not pay attention to our orders when we asked for a different vegetable than the one that came with our dinner.. She was sorry, but still never brought what we requested. We like this restaurant.....it is close to our home and we do eat there fairly often."

  • "This was my second visit to Cafe 501 for brunch. It was very good, don't get me wrong... but... it wasn't quite as awesome as the first time I ate there. On both occasions, I ordered the Crab Cakes Benedict. My first time, I had two crab cakes on my plate. Still two eggs, but only ONE crab cake. I should have inquired about that, but I didn't. The first time really wowed me. This time, the serving size disappointed, and seasoning was lacking a bit and I had to add to it."

  • "We were celebrating my husbands birthday. The food is very good. The shrimp and grits had a lot of flavor. The salmon was a nice portion and very flavorful. The waited was very attentive. She suggested the bread pudding for dessert. Oh my, it was delicious! Then she told us it was my her birthday treat. We didn't expect that. It was a great birthday dinner"

  • "Got a christmas eve reservation and got seated immediately when we arrived. They were busy because of the holiday but very attentive to us the whole night. The food was good for the price range, I got Salmon and my girlfriend got the meatloaf. All together it was a nice dinner, will definately go back"

  • "We ate at the 501 restaurant on Grand and it was a lovely evening. The food was delicious and the ambiance is calming and conducive to visiting with friends and family. The manager, Margaret Holloway, checked on our table and was a super hostess. Our waiter, Paul, was not only attentive but politely and quietly so. We enjoyed a wonderful evening with our family and would recommend this as an intimate restaurant with a wide variety of menu items and very decadent desserts that are way too tempting!"
