"I planned a surprise 60th birthday dinner party for my wife and invited 2 other couples who are close friends. A perfect setting for such an event. Classy and nice but not stuffy. Good food, wine, service, and setting. Ordered a custom birthday cake from Ritz Carlton pastry chef (1 week ahead) - very nicely done and a very good cake (yellow cake, chocolate butter cream frosting, and fresh berry garnishes) for $35 and over half of the cake to take home. The cake was quite moist and tender; the icing excellent."

"Our whole experience was a good one with the exception of one of the meals..I had the Valentine special and I ordered the duck as an entree. It was the worst duck I ever had. It was very fatty and warm when I got it.. My husband had the beet salad and short rib which was not the special. He loved his. Otherwise, it was a great evening. We have been there many times and this is the 1st time that one of us had a bad meal.''Lorraine"

"I thought the Ritz was noted for it's customer service. Certainly not this day. We arrived at our reservation time (10:30) to be told that the brunch didn't start until 11:30, hostess #1 said there was no brunch buffet only an a la carte menu, hostess #2 said no, they changed again and it was buffet. We agreed to return at 11:30am. When we returned we were told that the brunch was at 12:00pm by hostess #3 who was confused and didn't know if it was a la carte or buffet though. When we voiced our displeasure with the information we had been receiving, hostess #3 told us "That's the way it is". Hmmm, not very customer oriented! Back to hostess #2 running down the hall after us telling us that if we stayed the brunch was on them. No Thanks!"
