A word from Cafe 2825
Cafe 2825 is a`"Neighborhood Italian- American" restaurant 1 block up from Tropicana and "The Quarter". Our family has been serving simple Italian-American cuisine in upscale casual style since arriving from Brooklyn in 1986.
Joseph is the host of this 14 table intimate, white tablecloth restaurant. His warmth and friendliness make the Cafe a favorite of locals and casino guests.
He travels to his hometown of Brooklyn each week for the necessary ingredients to keep the Cafe as authentic as you would find a NY or Philly nieghborhood. On any evening you will find Ginny, his wife, behind the bar, Jackie, his daughter, waiting on tables and Momma Rose's recipes in the kitchen. These are a few of the reasons locals frequent Cafe 2825. The difficulty in obtaining reservations reflects all the passion in the restaurant.
We are sure you will enjoy dining at our Cafe. Please do not let positve reviews mislead you, we are just a simple famliy cooking dinners.

  • "Second time at this restaurant. Both occasions we had an excellent meal everyone enjoyed what they had. Two had the fish special halibut I had lobster dish on both occasions. If something that u want is not on the menu ask joe the owner who is out in the dining area all night. Great guy and his wife is the bartender - excellent drinks as well. Plan to go back after the crowds are gone with two of our neighbors ( never been there). Parking around the corner which is great."

  • "A wide variety of Italian dishes await this best kept secret in Atlantic City. If by chance you would like something that's not on the menu; just ask Joe, owner and chef, to prepare it for you. Apps and entrees are generous portions. But make sure you leave room for dessert. Joe's orange flavored ricotta cheese cake and his New York style pistachio cheese cake are absolutely THE BEST---texture like butter ! Reservations are a must and this family run restaurant can be pricey but well worth it. Joe and Ginny will make sure you will leave this quaint establishment with a smile on your face and feeling satisfied. Lastly, don't forget their cappuccino--Mmmm."

  • "2825 is the best restaurant in AC and all the surrounding areas including Ventnor, Margate and Long Port. The food is superb, the service impeccable, and 2825 is a gem of a Restaurant. I would say that 2825 is #1 in the area and in my opinion one of the top five on the East Coast. Joseph the owner makes sure all your needs are met and the food is prepared to the highest of standards. This is not our first time there and it certainly won't be the last."

  • "Celebrated our anniversary at Café 2825 on Thursday, August 7. The heirloom tomato appetizer and risotto-stuffed striped bass were outstanding. Paired it with the house chianti for a perfect combination. The chicken dish (daily addition) was also excellent. Really, it's impossible to go wrong at this restaurant. We have dined there several times and have been extremely satisfied. Oh, and don't miss the tiramassou for dessert."

  • "Although we had a reservation for 9, had to wait outside for an hour as the restaurant is very small. Initially thought the service was going to be a challenge, as the staff did not greet us warmly. However, once seated, they turned it around. The menu options were great and the ambiance & service improved once the restaurant cleared. The food made our wait worth every minute! I had a homemade egg noodle pasta with mushrooms. Incredible! There was not one dish we did not thoroughly enjoy. I highly recommend!!"

  • "My wife and I had dinner here while visiting Atlantic City recently. Upon arrival we were greeted warmly by wait staff. We ordered cocktails and the owner visited our table and we had a pleasant conversation. Our dinner was fabulous, I opted for Sunday Sauce, which included , Braciole, meatball and sausage... My wife had shrimp oreganata....Sauces are so delicious, obviously homemade...A nice atmosphere. We will definitely return. Best Italian on the West side of the Hudson....."

  • "Each year we travel near Atlantic City for a week, and while we are here we always go to Cafe 2825 for dinner. The food is absolutely wonderful! My favorite appetizer is the stuffed artichoke - I highly recommend you trying it! We have had many different entrees and have yet to be disappointed. And the service is friendly but very professional."

  • "Everything was wonderful. No hiding inferior meat under gobs of sauce and cheese. The fish was tender and moist (Wild caught Salmon), and the pasta dish excellent. We had a beet salad which is the best I have had yet. the flavors were a perfect blend of earthy, sweet and piquant. Wine by the glass was very respectable. Cocktails mixed well. The staff was most accomadating to time changes in my reservation. Will definitely go here again."

  • "Great meal as usual! Their stuffed artichoke is a favorite of ours....absolutely delicious! Fish is always fresh and angel hair puttanesca superb."

  • "I'm happy I ended up coming to Cafe 2825. The food and service was outstanding. I had the Cavatelli dish with broccoli rabe and it was excellent. The lighting and style is on the darker side which makes for a perfect romanic setting. Everyone in the restuarnt looked very happy and satisfied as the owner walks around and greets everyone, asking them about their dinners from table to table. Couldn't be happier with my dinner choice for my night out in Atlantic City."

  • "My family and I always look for great food while on vacation, and other times too. However, especially while on vacation. Our daughter found Cafe 2825 on line 2 years ago. It was great then. Consequently, we had to go back this year. The food was even better this time!!! I was expecting a let-down because we were all remembering how much we enjoyed it the first time and had high expectations. We were not disappointed. Several of us had the Cavatelli with sausage and broccoli rabe. That was great! My wife got the "Sunday gravy". She loved it! All six of us enjoyed our dinner and will return the next time we are in Atlantic City!"

  • "We've noticed Cafe 2835 many times, but never gone in. Finally, we did & found we've been missing out on a gem for all this time. From the warm greeting at the door to the incredibly attentive service, the staff couldn't have taken better care of us. They kept things lively & were quite helpful. The foodt was outstanding. We had one glitch when Mom's meal was way too spicy for her, but the staff apologized and whisked it away & brought out a fresh portion quickly & with a smile. Even the owner came over to make sure things were right. It became a positive - not a negative. My red snapper was incredible and way too big for one sitting. My wife wanted to lick her plate when she finished the wild mushroom pasta. We'll be back!!"

  • "Absolutely fantastic. This is my husband (italian) and my favorite restuarant may be in the entire country. By far the best Italian food we have ever had outside of his grandparent's kitchen. He thought he would never taste that sauce again -and the then we found Cafe 2825. The tableside Caesar salad is out of this world... and the wild mushroom pasta is almost unbelievable (but I've had it 3 times now and I am a believer). We have had a variety of appetizers, entrees and pasta and everything is always amazing. If you can get a reservation, do not pass it up."

  • "This restaurant was recommended to us by friends who had eaten there; the husband is on the picky-side, so we knew the recommendation was not to be taken lightly. My first suggestion is to make sure you have a reservation. We had a 6:30pm reservation on a Tuesday night and by 7pm there were no tables available. It is a small place, but has a bar. The bar selection was very nice and the food was great! My boyfriend started with the appetizer special of fried calamari on greens and I had the beet salad from the menu. Both were delicious and his was light enough that he still had room for dinner. His dinner was the chicken layered with eggplant and I had the Sunday gravy. Both of us finished every bit of food on our plates."

  • "I found Cafe 2825 on Trip Advisor. The high remarks and excellent menu immediately piqued my interest. The around the corner parking was convenient, as opposed to driving around looking a spot. Upon entering, it was a little off-putting. There was no host or hostess. One of the servers (or bartender) greeted and seated us. Service was pretty efficient throughout. A few different people took care of us. The server informed me they all work together. Both the house pinot grigio and pinot noir were pleasant. The stuffed artichoke was a first for me, and a good one! The Chilean sea bass was just amazing, tender as could be! The mushroom risotto was addictive, so flavorful. I'll be back for sure. Oh, and get the cheesecake!"

  • "Went to this restaurant before a show. My wife & I shared a pasta dish as an app that was terrific. I had a veal chop as an entree and she ordered soft-shelled crabs. Both were fantastic. Would go back in a heartbeat!!"

  • "The aromas made you want to dance in. All staff members made us feel like family. We watched Julio make a caesar salad like they used to. He was masterful and gave us a sample. Joe the owner was so mindful of all guests. No surprise this is ranked number one in Atlantic City"

  • "I cannot believe that this is regarded as the best restaurant in Atlantic City. The place is a true family-owned Southern Italian restaurant. The small size (14 tables) and outstanding service in an area know for "BIG" is a great asset. Portions are large; prices are high but typical for AC. Sadly, the food was totally unimpressive and disappointing. We found that unless something was served "spicy" (which was really hot), the food was bland and blah. The tomato sauce, which is critical to a dish, was absolutely tasteless as if it were out of a can. The cheeses used on the courses did not taste like they were of the highest quality. And, the pasta dishes were really soupy. We liked the place...didn't like the food."

  • "Why ask how I would rate Cafe 2825? Each time we go the food is consistently great. Clearly the best Italian food in Atlantic City and one of the best restaurants in the region. No recommendations for specific dishes. Explore. You won't be disappointed."

  • "My husband & I had a wonderful diner at Cafe 2835. It was our first time dining there & it won't be our last. We started with the stuffed calamari & grilled octopus, out of this world. Then we split the mozzarella caprese which was excellent & they actually make there own mozzarella. We had the veal chop parmigiana and the veal chop milanese. They were both really good. We then ended with the pistachio ricotta cheese cake which was to die for!!! The owners are such nice people. They helped us with our dining choices & chose a fabulous red house wine. They were so friendly and always making sure everything was to our liking. We look forward to our next visit!!"

  • "The food was delicious, but the service ruined the experience. First we were seated at least 20 minutes after our reservation time. I can live with that as the restaurant was busy. The problem was that the meal took a very long time to come out and the server never checked back with us. After the food came, the server again did not check to see how we were doing. Also the prices are high for what you get. Chicken Parm with a side of pasta was $35 as the meals are a la carte. My pasta Bolognese was $23 but it wa not large."
