I am originally from The Bronx and my cousin owns a restaurant and this reminded us of that kind of food without driving three hours, true Italian! Very accomodating with preparations5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMCafe 2825 Sinful!!Lets just say it was very sinful.....the foreplay began with fresh Asparagus (slightly breaded and sauteed) with Fresh Tomato Sauce and melted Mozzarella, followed by a slight kiss of Anchovy paste on the romaine hearts Caesar, just enough to be slightly on the salty side, then it just gets deep with a Wild Mushroom light Cream Sauce with very wide and tender homemade egg noodles. The climax for me was a moist rich orange ricotta cake.....Oh God.....Oh, forgot to mention that of course this was accompanied by a very nice bottle Italian red. I had to vow not to return to this restaurant this evening again. I found this restaurant and was not disappointed. Dad was cooking. Mom was hostess and working the bar. Daughter was our waitress. She asked Dad to suggest a wine from the few I was having a hard time deciding between. He was dead on! The food was great! The artichoke was as advertised. It took a little work but worth the effort. Sunday Gravy dinner was awesome. Real nice sauce! My wife could only finish less than half of her dinner it was so big. Top notch food! Despite it being a very busy evening at the restaurant, our servers were very attentive and we were visited by the owners of the restaurant as well. From the reservations to them calling us a cab they went out of their way to make us feel at home. There was such a variety of different dishes that we shared two appetizers, a salad, an entree, and portions of 3 desserts! You must try the whole artichoke app and the meatball salad, wow! The owner even took time to talk with us for a few minutes after our meal. Truly an amazing experience.
