Consequently, the noise level was almost perfect. We never found anything at the Cabernet Grill deserving criticism, and that is why we keep going back. Every time we visit this beautiful city we have to eat at the Cabernet Grill. The food is excellent and the service is superb. We stayed at the Cotton Gin Village for two nights and treated ourselves to a wonderful dinner complete with a yummy dessert! The crab cake appetizer was tremendous, and the red snapper with lump crab meat entree was fantastic! My husband ordered the surf and turf which was "okay" in his words, but nothing extraordinary. Of course we tried the fried pecan pie with jack daniel's ice cream and that too was very good. All in all, we would highly recommend dining here. The wait staff was also helpful in choosing an entree, giving his recommendations when asked. I was caught off guard by the fancy selections (I typically am a plain & dry/vanilla person), but was very pleased at what we were served. I sampled (and loved) all the food we ordered. Cabernet Grill had a great selection of appetizers, salads, and main courses. Regrettably, we didn't have room for dessert, which we will have to try the next time we are in town. But, the grapefruit salad and goat cheese appetizer that we began with, followed by the oh so tender pork loin that I had and the trout my girlfriend had filled us up. Our server, for being in a small town, was terrific. I'm in the service industry and was blown away at Joseph's service. He was extremely helpful, as everything looked great and helped steer us through our wine flight and meal. The Becker Vineyard wine was amongst the best on the list. We would greatly recommend this place to anyone.

The wine list had many of the wines we enjoyed that day. Cabernet Grill was highly rated on several sites and it stood up to the reviews. Our waiter Joseph was fabulous!!! Based on his recommendations (and online reviews) we had the following- apps- goat cheese and crab cakes, entrees steak kbobs, quail, strip special and shrimp. Everything was fabulous (the kbobs were overlooked to pure medium when ordered med rare). The quail was amazing! We decided to try it thinking it might be touristy. Well, it was anything but. The restaurant sits outside of town by a couple of miles. We ate there on a Wednesday night and it was quiet and not crowded, so we can't vouch for the weekend crowd. We sat outside and it was quite pleasant. The service and the food were terrific, as well as the prices. The grounds inside the entrance were very pretty with waterfalls and cabins. We did peak into the dining room and it was well appointed. But we could see how it could get noisy in there as it is a big open room. The Jumbo Lump Crab Gratin was wonderful. I liked that it was only a couple of bites each to leave plenty of room for the main course and dessert. The coconut shrimp were made better than others I've had with a sticky sauce on the shrimp instead of just on the side. My husband had the ribeye, which was good, but nothing exceptional. The fried pecan pie with Jack Daniels ice cream was an great way to end the dinner. They have a great selection of Texas wines and they use many local ingredients. Their Texas wine list has led me to discover the true gems we have in the regional wine makers. The crab meat appetizer is simply heavenly. The kitchen realizes the need not to overcook seafood and as a result, every seafood dish is delightful. Meanwhile, on this visit I tried the Chicken Fried Ribeye with Lobster Sauce. While I had some trepidation in ordering it, I quickly realized what a harmonious and scumptious dish it truly was.
