  The charm and wonder of the old El Encanto is back and the updating of pretty much every aspect of the property makes it an amazing place. They have all ranges of wines-by-the-glass and also bottles, great selection. The appetizer menu is a bit too limited and probably a bit too expensive: only one salad, which was field greens - good quantity but a little bit boring. The fig ballotine was fair but the Hamachi was tasty and plentiful. All the entrees were terrific and priced about what we'd expect for a lovely property (for our table they ranged from $32 to $38): scallops were the best choice of our group, then the baked salmon. It's a special place for Santa Barbara and wonderful to have back. Congrats to OE....More

  Loved the relaxed beautiful old world feel of the Stonehouse Restaurant. Real log fires were crackling as we arrived even for an early dinner. All the staff are friendly and it is refreshing that they don't ask you every minute "how is your dinner"? Two of us had the special soup of the day...tomato with crab which was really delicious. The salmon dish was not outstanding but good. Highly recommend the baked scallop in the shell. The chocolate souffle and homemade chocolate mint ice cream sublime! A really special place which will always be on our list for special places to go to....More
