  I grew up n San Diego and have returned to Bali Hai on many special occasions. We went on Saturday Night for early father's day. We had a seat at the window overlooking the San Diego Bay and beautiful sunset, local weddings were going on and just great view. Appetizers were ordered, great calamari, a good portion size and we also had crab cakes . They were ok, a bit small and overcooked. My 80 yr old mom and Ordered Honey Walnut Shrimp. It was GREAT, Wife ordered scallops and they too were good and my dad ordered a classic sweet/sour chicken and it was a great size and good too. Our wait staff.....very attentive yet inconspicuous. Classic Mousse was ordered for dessert. GREAT MEAL OVERALL. One down side, was the noise. Very Loud...More

  Saturday night, 7:30pm, we were the only table in the restaurant. Kind of makes one a bit questioning...did we make a good choice? The place had great reviews on Open Table, it was just a few steps from our hotel, and we didn't want to deal with the 5th Street craziness as we did that the night before. We did good!! Food was very good and the service was attentive. Yes, just as everyone else says, the mussel bisque rocks!! (We found out that the place was busy before we got there with people eating early and going to the theatre.)...More

  Impressive! We came here to celebrate our co-workers birthday. There were four of us and we really enjoyed the atmosphere. The piano bar was inviting and great to hear the music from where we sat. Our server was superb. He showed us the variety of crab and made some recommendations. We chose the date nite dinners. Delicious! The price fit each of our budget...salad, entree and dessert...wow fantastic! Two of us ordered the scallops and the other two crab cakes. We will be back for sure! Thank you for making it special to have dessert with writing "Happy Birthday" for our celebrant. To bring out three desserts was delightful. Our favorite one was the coconut creme pie.
