Ca' Dario RistoranteGreat foodHad dinner for two, shared the apertif, primi, secondi, and desert. Splitting all the dishes made for perfect portion sizes, and allowed us to enjoy a full course meal. The food was excellent, and paired very well with the wine from Sardinia.

It's neighborhood Italian, where they recognize and greet you if you're a local and treat you well, if you're not. The menu is not astonishingly different than any other Italian restaurant you've visited, just somehow a large notch better. Ingredients are fresh, food is well seasoned, flavors abound. Somebody there just knows how to cook. if they roast a chicken, they roast it better. If they grill a little polenta, the grains of the polenta are cooked perfectly. Unfortunately this is not as often as I like since I don't live in Santa Barbara. But the three or four time a year that I am there, before I make my hotel reservations,I make sure I have a reservation a this wonderful restaurant. Everything I have had there has been excellent but they really work magic with their baked pastas, lasagna and crespelle, which are melt in you mouth delicious. The combo of flavors melded just right so that the whole became so much more than all the already excellent ingredients. very close together, no room for a bottle of wine & a bottle of water! I requested a large table & they were very accomodating;
it made the dining experience so much better without having to balance everything either on your neighbor's table, your lap or
the floor!!! I'm not sure if we received the special treatment because of Open Table, but we will no longer hesitate to dine at
Ca Dario because of this problem, & we won't have to look for a third person to join us so we can dine comfortably!!
