  • "Great experience I loved the food good ambience really great service"

  • "It was Christmas day, after all, so maybe the chef wasn't on his game with the limited Christmas menu. The butternut-squash soup was excellent, but the main courses weren't so hot. The salmon may have been a bit underdone, while the prime rib was a bit dry. The sides with the meals were entirely forgettable. The redeeming feature was the wait staff. They were all very friendly and personable, and service responsiveness seemed right on the mark. As I said, it might have been the day. The location is good, parking is free with validation, and with some tastier dishes, this could be a good place to eat."

  • "We made a reservation and went in for dinner but the C-Street was closed, we ended up eating in the bar with the C Street menu. We enjoyed everything of the menu and the service by Alberto was top notched. I enjoyed the Clam Chowder and Scallops I would highly recommend it! I also had a pizza which was excellent!"

  • "Nothing that special, just some good food with good and friendly service. We come to this CP every year for the Dog Show, so eating in the hotel is a safe bet."

  • "excellent breakfast. Really enjoyed the wheat french toast with bran flakes. Very different and yummy."

  • "We went specifically for the Osso Bucco only to find it was no longer offered on the menu. Second choice was Salmon and they were out, along with several other items...at 7:30 and there were only 2 other people in the restaurant! The chef needs to be better prepared. Server and host/busboy were absolutely pleasant and lots of fun...food was satisfactory but nothing to write home about."

  • "My wife and I had a very pleasant dining experience. the meals we chose we were nice and hot when they arrived to our table. Our server was Elaine, she was cheerful as well as knowledgeable. We had a wonderful time. If you use a wheelchair or walker this place is very accessible."

  • "We knew that this was a great place for weekend lunch but now we'll be coming here for dinners as well. Excellent food at reasonable prices and charming service. Surprising to find such good food at a regular hotel restaurant. The arugala salad and fish tacos are my favorites!"

  • "Short Ribs were cooked perfect, seared just right on outside, tender inside."

  • "I went with a few ladies on Valentines day and they had a live Harp playing. They also past out a Harpsingle red rose to all the ladies. Service was exceptional."

  • "Really nice salad, fish tacos, etc. and such fabulous waiters"

  • "I found the staff to be a little too concerned to meet our needs. The restuarants was slow at the time though. Besides that, the service was prompt and the food was really really good. I've had similar meals at expensive restaurants in Las Vegas that were comparable. Great place for a dinner date, special event or just getting some good quality food."

  • "It was Christmas and they ran out of prime rib before our 6pm reservation. The prime rib was the reason that we chose this restaurant for Christmas. However, we substituted steak and thought that the rest of the Christmas menu was delicious. The photograph of the restaurant gave the illusion of a nicer atmosphere. The chairs were stained, the tables were formica rather than real wood and it felt more like a nice coffee shop than a restaurant. Table cloths on Christmas would have made a difference."

  • "We had several issues with the quality of the food on the Christmas Dinner Menu. We ordered prime rib and were told after we'd finished the salad, that there "was a problem with the prime rib". We changed our order to the filet, which was tough. We told them about that, and a manager came to our table and said that they would have prime rib ready soon (there had been "an oven malfunction"), and that they would give us some to take home. We agreed to what we thought was a nice offer. The good news was that when we got home, we discovered that they had boxed up 2 complete prime rib dinners (not just the meat)! The restaurant has the potential of being very good, but we hit a bad day. The waiter was a 10! Sorry I don't have his name."

  • "Went for Christmas lunch with famy and everything was excellent And affordable and thaw why we return to C-street."

  • "The food was great! Loved the choices of garlic/herb butter, balsamic and olive oil or tapenade for the bread. That was a pleasant surprise and each was really good. Hard to judge the overall experience because there were so few diners. Very attractive decor. Servers were quite good and informative."

  • "WE HAD A GREAT WAITER AND THE SALAD HAD VERY FRESH GREENS, ONE OF THE BEST COBB SALADS, EVER."

  • "We had a nice visit and had the restaurant practically to ourselves. We were surprised how slow the restaurant was for a Thursday. My husband had the halibut, which was superb. I had the chef's cut filet mignon which was great but not the best I have ever had. Our waiter and busser were extremely attentive to our needs. We had a very good bottle of Haka Labrynth Petite Syrah that complimented our meal well. If you want good food and not have to fight the crowds of a stuffy/pretentious restaurant, go to C-Street! Warning: If you park in the hotel parking lot adjacent to Crowne Plaza, there can be a "Colorful" variety of homeless people who hang out on the beach walking path at nighttime. We had no bother and the parking lot is very secure."

  • "This was the second year we have gotten together for dinner with relatives who live in this area on our annual week that we spend here in Ventura. We were delighted with our choice last year, and were anxious to do it again. It is a lovely place. The food is excellent and beautifully prepared. The servers are friendly, fun, and accommodating, and the setting is lovely. We all enjoyed it immensely."

  • "The location is great right on the beach. The food was so good. I had the filet mignon and my wife had the Halibut. The service was excellent and atmosphere is very nice. A good find."

  • "The Chef's menu hinted at a bigger talent than what was offered by a fairly limited menu. Nonetheless, a worthwhile hotel restaurant! Quite enough for a romantic but casual meal."

  • "We had lunch so no comment on bar scene or wine list but it was very good"

  • "C-Street was a wonderful start to our St.Patrick's Day outing. It's warm and charming atmosphere was only topped by the friendly service we received. Chef Luis prepared an off the menu vegetarian meal for me,while my husband devoured his lamb shank. My daughter wanted to stay for dinner! Needless to say, we all felt very happy and lucky, and even saw a rainbow on the ride home."

  • "Each time my boyfriend and I get away to Ventura we reserve a table at The C-Street at the Crowne. The prices are fair, food is always delicious, service is always excellent, and the location is amazing for enjoying a seaside stroll after your dining experience. It's our little gem!"
    Dined on 2/14/2012
  • "Easy to get reservation. We were seated immediately in a booth. I would have liked to try several things on the menu, but couldn't! The salad I ordered was wonderful! We'll be back."

  • "Our reservations for a party of 6 were at 8:30pm. We waited 30 minutes before anyone came to our table to get us water or take a drink order. We were there 2 1/2 hours and saw the waiter every 30-45 minutes. I believe he was the only one waiting on the entire place that night. There was a party going on upstairs so all of the wine glasses had been taken up there which left him in a bind to find some for us to use. Also, they were out of one of the menu items (ribs) as well as one of the beers they had on the menu. Overall, the food was ok, but not worth the wait. I probably won't go back."
    Dined on 12/31/2011
  • "The restaurant was empty when we arrived. Only one other table of diners arrived while we were there. The food was excellent from the bread and herb/garlic butter, to the special of the night, pecan crusted salmon. It was our 41st anniversary, so it was wonderful to have great service and delicious food in a quiet restaurant."
    Dined on 12/22/2011
  • "We ordered soups as a starter, white bean soup and roasted tomato. Both soups were exceptional. Our table ordered both the halibut and the short ribs as our entrees and both meals were were excellent. We'll be back!"

  • "For years, C-Street has offered the best food in Ventura. The decor and waitstaff have not been particularly well-suited to the delicious fare traditionally offered here, because they have been only pleasant. The decor is unimaginative and the waitstaff cannot be depended upon to tell the difference between red and white wine glasses. In such a place the inventive cuisine with superb simple sauces, tantalizing seasoning, and cooked-to-perfection meats, fish, and pasta were amazing. There recently has been a change in executive chefs and an all-day menu has been substituted for the formerly more tempting dinner menu, but when we last dined here our favorite diver seas scallops were still available and almost-as-good, as were our entrees."

  • "We chose C-Street, partly due to the proximity of where we were staying, and because of the good reviews I'd read. We met other family members there, and it was a very enjoyable meal. The service was excellent, but we were surprised to be the only diners there. Of course, it was a Monday night, and off-season. We had 2 bottles of the house Merlot, and it was excellent. The food was very tasty, and attractively presented. My husband and I had a beautifully prepared Halibut. Delicious!"

  • "My office went there for lunch. The food was very good but the services was poor. First we couldn't find anyone to seat us. Then it took a while to get our food (the restaurant was NOT busy at all) and when the food arrived one order was wrong. They fixed it and brought the correct item but it took a while to receive. The waiter was friendly and kept our drinks filled but everything else was VERY slow. The waiter forgot to put in our to-go orders and said it would only take 5 minutes. It took 15-20 to get that order. Even though the food was good (accept for the french onion soup) I would probably not recommend this place unless you have a lot of time on your hands."

  • "Though virtually empty, the service was painfully slow. However, the food was outstanding and the waiter was respectful."
    Dined on 10/6/2011
  • "Service was good, the complimentary bread was delicious and my drink was never empty for too long but the "award winning diver scallops" were overcooked and bland. Overall it just seems like c street was tring to be a high priced fancy restaurant but didn't really have the quality of quisine to back up the price they charged. Would not go there again unless I had another major coupon."

  • "We enjoyed the experience very much. The food was very good, the portions were ample, and we thought it represented a good value. The only thing we might have hoped for was a slightly nicer ambiance. The place looked more like a basic restaurant than a fine dining establishment. However we would enjoy returning."

  • "Friendly service with a menu that has enough choices to make e everyone happy."

  • "We used a promotional coupon on this place and we are glad we did. Being inside the hotel they don't get much outside advertising in in the form of signage. It's unfortunate; this place is very nice. Excellent service, very well plated dishes, very good food. Give this place some business; it would be a shame to loose this gem just because of it's location."

  • "Not only did I feel like we were being ignored by our waitress, she seemed to hate kids. The few times she came to our table she made the effort to stand next to me next to the window wall to avoid contact or speaking to my kids! I really loved the passionfruit iced tea you serve. I had two glasses - 1 with my meal and one when the check came. She was never around for me to get a refill during the meal! My oldest son had to go looking for her twice during the meal for assistance! I made reservations through OPEN TABLE and noted we were celebrating my son's 5th birthday. The waitress mentioned it when she took our order, and that's all. No Happy Birthday, nothing else."

  • "Great experience evertime. Food good. A staff that is cheerful and a pleasure to have take care of us. Two things I like the best about this place is it's quiet and you can enjoy a conversation. Also tables are not jamed together and that is a plus."
