  • Still A Gem Hidden in Plain Sight?
    Penny

For years, C-Street has offered the best food in Ventura. The decor and waitstaff have not been particularly well-suited to the delicious fare traditionally offered here, because they have been only pleasant. The decor is unimaginative and the waitstaff cannot be depended upon to tell the difference between red and white wine glasses. In such a place the inventive cuisine with superb simple sauces, tantalizing seasoning, and cooked-to-perfection meats, fish, and pasta were amazing. There recently has been a change in executive chefs and an all-day menu has been substituted for the formerly more tempting dinner menu, but when we last dined here our favorite diver seas scallops were still available and almost-as-good, as were our entrees.

This was a deal and just up the road from our location. The food was well prepared and presented. It was a nice location and had a soothing decor. Very nice for a Hotel Restaurant that an outsider has to make a trip for. I would recomend it and look for it on restaurant.com

My husband and I were celebrating our second wedding aniversary at The Crowne Plaza Hotel in Ventura Beach and ate at C-Street located inside the hotel. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and the staff was really attentive and friendly. Depending on where you are seated, you can enjoy the view of the ocean. This is a really nice get away for couples wanting to have a romantic dinner. I highly recommend.

  • First time experience. Confussion

First time experience. Confussion at the door about our reservation, but was taken care of quickly. Very young waitress, needs more experience, but very friendly, polite and helpful. Limited menu, but just enough selections. Chef Nic came by table and made all of us welcomed and excited about our diner. Ambience was cool Calif, decor! Food was inventive, but could have been more exciting in flavor. Had Special 3 course Menu for only $35.00. Pear and Walnut Salad: great (but it's been done). 8oz. Rib-eye a little flat in taste and sides just ok. Banana Bread Pudding: Very good! Cocktails: great!. Wine list: Calif/Italian base: good selections. We had a wonderful time, we'll be back, they just need local support!

  • C-Street has become our favorite
    OpenTable Diner Since 2008
    Dined on 10/10/2008
C-Street has become our favorite restaurant for special occasions or any time we want to treat ourselves to an exceptional meal. The food is excellent and the wait staff is warm, friendly, fun, and ready to serve you. They treat you well. We've eaten there six time is the past few months and can not find any thing to fault. A foodie restaurant where you do not have to dress. we would recommend it to anyone and everyone.

I might eat there again if I was staying at the hotel it is in and there was not another option nearby. I would not choose to go there again otherwise.

  • The service was really poor

The service was really poor and the food was just okay. They had four chardonnays on the wine list and somehow were out of the one we ordered. One table left after sitting for thirty minutes and still not receiving their drinks. Another table had multiple complaints about the service. I would NOT recommend this restaurant to anyone.

  • Breakfast was good. we left
    OpenTable Diner Since 2008

Breakfast was good. we left before we were served dinner. terrible service. When we asked the receptionist what was good on the menu, she looked at us blankly and finally replied that the special was what they were trying to sell tonight!!!! Took 10 minutes to get water service and 20 minutes to find out they did not have the wine we ordered. We left then. When things are going badly, sometimes it is just best to cut and run!
