  • "I had visited this restaurant 13 years ago, it was superb then. Came back to LA for my 25th wedding anniversary with my wife. When booking the table I made a note of this to the restaurant. Not expecting anything, we arrived and they had decorated the table cloth with " happy 25th wedding anniversary, welcome back" a really nice touch. The staff were excellent and the food was beautiful, and plentiful. Not forgetting the free Garlic rolls.....as good as I remembered....be careful not to have too many!!!"

  • "A wonderful positive dining experience, great food, excellent service. We had a booking but were early and we were taken to a great table early."

  • "We had another terrific meal at C&O. The food is fresh, delicious, and plentiful with reasonable prices across the menu. the atmosphere is cozy when not crowded, vibrant when it is, but still keeps its charm. As for the food, the Italian chopped vegetable salad was perfectly dressed and filled with veggies, not just greens. Plus, three of us were able to share it as a first course. The garlic knots are scrumptious and were continuously served throughout our meal (I defy you to eat just one!). Our pasta dishes were cooked perfectly and the service was friendly and attentive, yet not intrusive."

  • "Host rude to my large party before seating us. Had to call the manager."

  • "Recently a college buddy was visiting Venice with wife & kids, and a bunch of us got together to dine and meet. We had a reservation but were 20 minutes late on a busy Sunday at 7pm, yet C&O seated us promptly -- even giving us choice of indoor or outdoor. Great food and service. The family peeled off after dinner leaving 5 of us to continue reminiscing & drinking wine. We stayed 'til closing and they never rushed us out. My only complaint was the music was loud. Next visit I'll make sure I'm not underneath a speaker. We had the sense that C&O realized our occasion was a special event and they actually provided a perfect venue for us to come together and celebrate and eat and laugh, etc. So, "Many thanks", C&O! Highly recommended."

  • "The food & service were great and the prices really reasonable for large portions (left-overs w pasta even though we didn't upgrade to "gargantuan" size anything except calamari). The problem was the flies. Annoying, creepy, relentless. Not sure what can be done about them, but our party of five spent all of our spare time wafting the flies away from the food & wine."

  • "There was a bit of a mixup regarding our reservation, but we were accommodated immediately by the hostess, who apologized. The food and service was amazing. Best italian restaurant I've ever been to. Would recommend to anyone living in or visiting the Venice Beach area!"

  • "Cool location, cool little restaurant. Garlic bites they continually serve were awesome. Service was great. But the rest of the food, at least what my party had, was average."

  • "love the blonde gal who served us yesterday. so attentive and thoughtful. my only wish is that they get a fly-zapper, as seating is only outdoors. love the bread roll knots with olive dressing. and they keep 'em comin!"

  • "I could certainly have done without the Frank Sinatra in the background and the tables rather packed too close. I had the wait staff's butt in my face a number of times. But the house wine and the eggplant Parmesan was simply fabulous."

  • "Amazing garlic knots! They don't skimp on portion size. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere is cozy and casual. One if the best places I've eaten at since moving to LA."

  • "Took all our kids for the second time and they couldn't stop eating the garlic bread. We ordered the gargantuan size pasta bowls and there was left overs. We don't live close by, but whenever we are in the area, this is where we go. We went before dropping of our daughter to the airport and two weeks later when she got back because we didn't want to deal with traffic. So, twice in one month is the most we ever went to C&O. Don't know when we will be back, but we will be back!"

  • "We love this restaurant but our last experience was not good. We did not feel valued. We made a reservation for a party of seven at 4:00 p.m. and were placed in a corner. Ten minutes later another large party was seated next to ours. They were loud, using profanity and we were very uncomfortable with our young children(7 and 5) hearing the content of their stories. My husband noticed the restaurant was not crowded and there were empty seats, however we did not see much of our server. My husband had to get up several times to ask for water or rolls. We have been coming to this restaurants for 20 years and this was one of the worst times we have had. We were celebrating a birthday and this was the the honorees restaurant of choice :("

  • "This is our daughter's favorite restaurant, so where else to celebrate her birthday. The food was fantastic. The service is always fantastic. And their chocolate lava cake is a great way to end the evening. Bravo"

  • "Great food, large portions and an awesome location. My friend had a hair in her food and they prepared it again for us but didn't take it off the bill which was shocking. I had about 3 bites left and found a hair in my food too but I didn't say anything, just stopped eating and asked for the bill. The food was good (until i found the hair) prices are reasonable. I might give it another try since my best friend LOVES this place otherwise I probably wouldn't be back."

  • "The hostess was smiling when we walked up & our reservation was ready on time. As soon as we sat down & our waiter said hello & the manager set flowers on the table & said happy first anniversary. The food was delicious & they made us feel special. It was an awesome dining experience. We strongly recommend that you eat here."

  • "We had a tasty calamari appetizer and split a Gorgonzola salad among four. Everybody branched off into their own for dinner, including the eggplant lasagna, which was a hit. The lasagna bolognese was good too, as was the kid's spaghetti with meatball. Kid said the meatball was among her favorite's ever. We thought our server was fantastic, very knowledgeable about the menu and friendly, not too "hovery" but there when we needed something. Of course, the kids were appropriately embarrassed when we belted out That's Amore! with everyone else. Perfect for our guest from Germany! Worst part? Awful, rude valet. Not fun to pay to park and then retrieve our own car after being repeatedly insulted."

  • "A variety if enticing dishes to choose from. However it's a very hectic place and thus our service was poor. At the onset two different waiters were mistakenly assigned to our table. The line wrapping through the restaurant for the single stall bathrooms was a distraction snd source of tension. Those nuisances outweighed the good food on this particular visit."

  • "My husband and I first discovered this gem by accident while staying a few nights at Venice Beach in 2010. This time, with a 6-hour layover in LA, we brought our teens for a meal before an overseas flight. The food was fantastic, the staff extra-friendly and the drinks cold in the hot sun. We loved the open-air thanks to the rollaway roof, the neverending garlic rolls, and the perfect sangria! Thank goodness we'd made reservations-- the place was packed and the line outside stayed long the entire time we were there, but we were never rushed and had a relaxing, delicious meal. My shrimp cappelini was fabulous and my hubby is still talking about the slow-cooked beef nearly a week after we returned to Australia! We'll be back!"

  • "Unable to get thru on phone to make reservation but was successful using Open Table. We were seated at our reservation time and promptly served their famous bread dots! Never felt rushed to eat and leave and were in and out in about an hour. Staff very friendly and courteous. I will go again!"

  • "The food is varied and very good, but the garlic rolls are absolutely the best! Love the experience. It's not a place to carry on a private conversation with the tables close to each other, but it's a fun place for a good dinner. They honored the reservation as soon as we got there even though it was a busy time -- and that was wonderful."

  • "we had a 5 hour lay over at LAX - this was the perfect spot to head out prior to taking a red-eye. My wife and 3 daughters - 6, 10, 11 - had a great time, it was fun, close to the Venice Pier - and we had no issue getting back to LAX - used Uber which was quite effective as well. Awesome meal, great atmosphere and friendly wait staff."

  • "First time here w the family to celebrate a birthday and everything was great! The garlic rolls kept coming, the waiters were nice when we asked for more dipping sauce, more water, more rolls, etc. I had the chicken piccata and it was delicious, perfect zeSt and perfect amount of veggies and pasta. I ate the entire dish! ;) The singing of that's amore, was the perfect touch to the entire experience! Will def be back!"

  • "Family favorite for birthdays and other get togethers. Sat outside in the patio area. A bit noisy. Service was friendly and prompt. Food was good as always. Often get the fish special. This time was Salmon with Shrimp Scampi on top with orzo. Beautifully moist salmon seasoned nicely. Did not disappoint. My son's love the Spaghetti Bolognese and the Chicken Alfredo. Both came with enough sauce this time. Husband got the Shrimp Papadella with lobster flavored sauce--he loved it. Could really taste the lobster in the sauce! And of course there are The Garlic-Herb Rolls. How can you beat those fresh, flavorful bits of heaven in Venice?!"

  • "This place is amazing! It is in a cute area, very popular so be sure to put in a reservation and make sure your whole group is there bc they won't seat you if everyone isn't there. Food was DIVINE. One of the best meals I've had in a long time!! Endless garlic rolls, they kept coming and coming! I had the chicken fettucine alfredo, added mushrooms and broccoli. SO good! Portions are generous, I couldn't finish mine but took home leftovers of course! Waiter was energetic and friendly. Reasonable prices, and lots of choices for the family. Def. recommend! Will be going back many times!!!"

  • "Great service from our server, Paul. Best to come by 11:45 am for weekend lunch. Parking is $15 in the beach lot or if you're lucky, street metered parking."

  • "This is the second time I've come here and this time was better than the first. The bread is indescribably delicious. The food is orgasmic. The service is on point. Dining here isn't a choice. It's a requirement."

  • "We arrived earlier then our reservation time. They sat people they had just arrived before us and were tell them it will be 15 mins we waited 45 mins. We I brought it to their attention they sat us right away but it was in a cramped table where I had to ask some jerk to move his chair before I could even sit down. I kept getting hit by the guy and everyone in his party we they left. We also sat by an annoying couple that kept taking videos and pictures with the flash on they kept shinning it in our face. The music was so loud you couldn't have a conversation and had to try and talk over the people sitting basically in you lap."
    Dined on 6/21/2014
  • "The food is extremely good, it's italian food, can't go wrong but they accomplish it in a very good manner! That being said on weekend evenings the place is so crowded you get up to 30min wait without a reservation. And as they try to maximize the rentability of the place, you end up in a corner on a tiny garden table with nobody to give you water during 15min. Once the first fork is in your mouth you stop being grumpy and enjoy your evening!"
    Dined on 6/21/2014
  • "While the food was fantastic as usual, we sat for the first time out on the patio. The server constantly forgot about us due to us being separate from her normal tables inside. Very frustrating getting more water or bread or even our check."

  • "We originally made Saturday lunch reservations for C&O Cucina which is also located on Washington close to the beach but ended up at C&O Trattoria, 1 mile inland which was much easier to get to because the traffic at the beach was just horrible and they had a vallet parking lot. Anyway, we enjoyed the family style/size dishes of eggplant lasagna, seafood linguine and the antipasto salad. Cocktails were great too."
    Dined on 6/21/2014
  • "I have been to C&O Cucina several blocks away from the beach several times, but had out of town visitors so wanted to be close to the beach this time. Somehow I had the impression that C&O Trattoria was a fancier place...but I forgot we were talking about Venice Beach. Parking was dicey since it was before valet service started at 6 p.m. It was fantastic to walk out on the Venice Pier before going into the restaurant. The Trattoria is anything but fancy--very funky, but we were able to be seated in the patio which was perfect with out of towners. The menu is essentially the same enormous one as at Cucina, with the dilemma being what to choose. Food was tasty as always--turned out to be just the right thing for these visitors."
