  • "Overall my meal was very good and I enjoyed it, however I was let down by the ambiance of the restaurant. There was hardly anyone in the restaurant during our dinner at 6:30 and our waitress was not what I would call friendly. Don't get me wrong she was mean in no way, but there was a sense that she couldn't care less whether we were there or not. I felt like we were more of a nuisance than happily awaited customers for her. My steak was cooked to perfection, but the side dishes were just bland. The mashed potatoes were very dry and in sore need of salt. Also, we were randomly brought tomatoes and green onions during our meal. Honestly, I thought that they were trying to hard to be a 5 star restaurant."

  • "Good but not high end the food was warm not hot the onion soup bowl was hot but the soup was cool in the middle and the bread was burnt on the edges, found the streak a little over spiced plates hot but meat cool (warming lites?) Do not sit in the first row of booths as every time the door opened the first few got a blast of cold air several parties in those seats asked to be moved I rate the food fair but overpriced for the quality a keg has better food at lower prices if you need a comparison. The staff was attentive and provided a good service not over the top but good."

  • "The server we had this time was very charming and lively, however, she lacked attention to details. Both appetizers she brought us were wrong so there was a delay in getting the correct ones. We ordered Amarone della Valpolicella Wine, she neglected to mention to us that they had two on the menu, and brought us the super expensive vintage one, which we only found out when the cheque came at the end of the meal. She did try to compensate us for this mistake, which we appreciated. Don't bother having espresso at this restaurant, is really bad! Rather go to Starbucks around the corner!"

  • "Very attentively served. We were a party of two in a much quieter area of the restaurant, but could hear chatter and business on the other side. I think the ambiance would have been less quiet on a busier night (we arrived mid-week during the off-season) but our server was very professional and our steaks done to our liking(s). Would like to return with a larger group at some point in the springtime as we had a view of a private area."

  • "We did had reservations, but were to be seated by the door and notice not many people in the restaurant and could be placed in a another location. So we asked to sit else where. We were not asked if we wanted cocktails, and then waited 1/2 hour for the bread to arrive. I do realize after watching a couple come in and read the menu then leave that you don't want to invest in serving bread when people walk out. I think if some one has reservations that at least they could be offered a full serve."

  • "By far the best steak dinner I have ever had! It was absolutley delicious and my husband and I went back our second night to enjoy the exact same meal we had the night before. This dining experience is by far in the top 5 of our best nights. We will be coming back to this establishment again in the future!"

  • "I ordered lobster and sauted baby spinach and both were awful. The lobster tasted like they used a blowtorch. And the sauted spinach was cooked in some kind of beef broth and tasted awful. My husband had the steak and also tasted bad. The service was quick and staff polite."

  • "My wife and I spent our 25th Wedding Anniversary at C & A. We live in the area but have never dined there. We had an outstanding dining experience. The flowers I ordered through OpenTable were waiting at our table and my wife was thrilled. We highly recommend C & A Steak Company!"

  • "The filet mignon I ordered was great. My boyfriend ordered ribeye and it was cooked to medium instead of medium rare as he ordered, but the meat itself was good quality so he was ok with it. Service was excellent but we had the whole restaurant all to ourselves till 8ish when two more tables came in. The restaurant was pricey but great for special occasion."

  • "We had a full three course meal that was outstanding from start to finish. The service was amazing. We were also dining in the dark during earth hour and it was a different experience but it was pretty neat. Overall I cannot say one bad thing about C&A Steak Company!"

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Our table was fabulous, our waitress was very professional yet very pleasant and willing to spend time talking to us. Her recommendations were excellent and there isn't a negative thing I could say about the evening. Well worth the trip to Blue Mountain. I would definitely go again and would recommend it to anyone going up there. I loved the table clothes and the fact that most people came in nicely dressed and not in ski suits. It was a very nice dining experience. I was stunned when I got home and read some of the reviews on travelocity or whatever it is called. They could not have been talking about the same restaurant. One question I have, " What does C & A stand for?""

  • "Overall our experience at C&A was good. My steak was absolutely delicious and I really appreciated that the server asked that we cut into our steaks to check that they were done correctly as I had asked for mine medium-well and it needed a bit more cooking. I was disappointed that were were charged extra for substituting fries instead of the mashed potatoes as usually this type of substitution is no problem."

  • "Went last weekend with my significant other for the first time and we were extremely dissapointed. We both ordered steaks and they tasted awful. The steaks tasted like burnt char. It was almost as if the grill hadnt been cleaned all night and the char on the grill from the previous steaks took over the entire flavour of our steaks. After we received the bill and paid, we mentioned to our waitress that the steaks tasted awful and to let the chefs know for future guests. Her response to us was, "well we were really busy tonight"... We eat dinner at Blue Mountain Village twice per month and we can guarantee we will never go back. Definitely not worth the money, especially if they can't clean their grill!"

  • "We were not happy with our our recent visit to your restaurant. I made reservations and they seated us right away. It took about 15 minutes before someone showed up to take our drink order. We ordered our food right away. One of our apps was cold and was suppose to be warm. When we got our meal my boyfriend had asked for a side of the peppercorn sauce for his steak and he didn't receive it. Our hostess was rude, and only came to our table twice. Other hostesses came about two other times. We were a little confused in who was serving us, never asked if we would like refills and the mashed potatoes were hard. I don't think I will return to that restaurant again. We also waited for over an hour for our meal."

  • "Food was good. service however was horrible, took FOREVER. We waited a minimum 40 minutes each time between appetizers and mains, mains and dessert. The dessert when it was delivered was a stone cold Lava cake. Should have been warm. Cream when requested for coffee was milk. asked for sorbet got ice cream instead. specifically requested no fried onions, no snap peas, mysteriously showed up on my plate. and while it was busy it wasn't crazy busy. The previous night, were at Oliver and Bonacini and they were insanely busy however the service was incredible."

  • "We reserved in advance and we were sent a reminder notification. Last time in Collingwood we couldn't get a table. The steak was melt in your mouth fabulous and the wine list extensive. A short walk from our Interwest accommodations and walk back was great under the enchanted lights and snow. We loved it and our dinner was a highlight of our romantic ski weekend getaway."

  • "The food was good. Not fantastic nor an overly creative or interesting menu for the price. My steak was decent, a rib steak - and i ordered apparently home made bernaise sauce on the side for an additional $6. The sauce came in a tiny paper cup maybe a tablespoon or two at best. This restaurant was not worth the money. They are lucky it is in the Village where traffic is easy because if it was in Toronto it would not last long at those prices. Nothing special !!!"

  • "Very pleasant staff who were mostly on the ball after a slight delay in ordering wine. Food was good but not great. The chef wants to put his own interpretation on classic salads. Not a good idea. The steaks were excellent. The frites less so. But overall a really nice evening in a lovely room which suited the steak house concept and we were in a slightly elevated booth for two so we could sense the room around us but the noise level was manageable. I would return."

  • "A very nice, multi-level dining room. We ordered the carpaccio, french onion soup, crab cakes, filet mignon and t-bone. The food was nice and well prepared, and our server was fantastic. My main issue was with the front of the house - a hostess welcomed us and took us to our table but did not offer to take out coats, or even to point us in the direction of a place we might hang them ourselves. Unacceptable for a $430- dinner. She watched on as we tried with difficulty to shove them beside is in the narrow booth. When we asked about kids dining options she gave us a smirky "we don't get many children here"....although we weren't the only party with kids. My kids love restaurants and know how to behave....treat them right!"

  • "Having dined at C&A in the past, we were really looking forward to returning last weekend, but we were disappointed to find the dining room over-crowded. While we appreciate that lots of people want to sample their great food & wine, it was hard to celebrate an intimate evening when there were tables less than a foot away from us on either side of a 2-person table. The staff was very apologetic, and we could see that it was extremely difficult for them to do their job without bumping into guests constantly -- clearly this was not their fault. We would love to return in the future, but we'll request our own booth next time."

  • "They could not find wine lists even though they were less than half full. When they did, we ordered wine, they cane back 29 minutes later to say they did not ave it, so we picked a second....also out of stock... A third... Also not available, a fourth...same thing. When they did not have our fifth choice in stock we asked for the Manager. We were told he was working in the kitchen and refused to come speak to us. Was horrible. We left and had great dinner t Oliver and Bonicini."

  • "This is probably the best restaurant in Blue Mountain Village, if not in all of Collingwood area. I would definitely recommend it if you are looking for someplace special and out of the ordinary for a nice dinner. The steaks were perfect and the sides were delicious. Service was excellent. The food was definitely higher quality than anything else you can get in Blue Mtn."

  • "We had booked on line table was ready when we arrived, but at the front door so it was not that romantic. Appetizers were great very tasty and cooked to perfection. Steaks were good cooked well but lacked flavour? We would go back and try it again , but for the price you would expect more."

The salmon was very salty, sauce quite good, rice not so much. My husbands steak was good - again salty was the issue with the spuds"

  • "We visited C&A for the first time on June 16 and enjoyed it. Richard, our server was excellent and extremely attentive. The steaks were cooked perfectly. Would suggest using Open Table for a reservation in the future as it was showing no availability after 6:15. We booked our dinner for that time but then discovered throughout the evening that the restaurant never did fill up. We could have booked a later dining time."

  • "We were a bit hesitant to try after reading some of the reviews on this site, however we were more than pleasantly surprised. We had Andrew as our server and he was fantastic. He was friendly, warm, attentive and very knowledgeable about the wines and the local area. We started out with the stuffed mushroom and the cream of forest mushroom soup. Both were decadently rich and delicious. I then had the 10oz filet which was cooked to perfection (I especially like how I was asked to make a cut into my steak to check the doneness as soon as it was placed on the table). My husband had the ribeye which he thoroughly enjoyed. We can not say enough about this little gem at the village. We will definitely be back!"

  • "I don nor normally bother to rate poor experiences but considering this I must. This had to be the WORST experience for money I have ever experienced. One note.We were the only two in the restaurant they had to serve and cook for.It was absolutely empty I never thought a steakhouse could mangle an order so bad or not even try to make amends for doing so.All this after spending 160.00 for dinner for two..actually one.My wife could not eat the second after returning the first. Both initial orders were wrong.Lamb salted and covered in salty gravy. They took them back. My wifes was still unedible.when asked if she wanted it packed up and did not complain figuring the waitress would pick up on how bad it was and take it off the bill.N"

  • "We (3) arrived in anticipation of a fine dining experience. We had made reservations and we were promptly seated. The restaurant wasn't busy. We waited 12 plus minutes before a server came to our table. We asked if they were short staffed and the server replied " no I was talking to someone I know sorry". Server knew we werent impressed. We ordered drinks, appetizers and main course because we sure had enough time to figure it out. After approx 5 minutes the appetizers came but no drinks. 3 mins later the drinks arrived. Main course arrived in good time not our server (talking to friend). Know one came by to ask how our dinner was or offer another beverage etc..I got up from table walked over and asked our server for the bill."
