"A great fun place to have moule/frite and a beer...also the filet mignon was wonderful. Surprisingly, it was not packed at 8pm on a Saturday night, which made for good service and a nice relaxing evening!"

"This is a pretty good Belgian type reataurant, especially the beer. My wife and I had Mussels (with a Thai lemongrass sauce, at little unusual, but very good) and some of the best country pate we've ever had. Service was great and the atmosphere enjoyable. One slightly down side; the frites (as the say on their menu, but the servers call them fries) were not at all like Belgian frites; they were the typical slightly soggy american type fries. This was a disapointment."

"For a rather small restaurant, the food at BXL East was quite good. The cheese and truffle croquettes had a smooth but not gooey texture, lightly seasoned breading, and just the right amount of truffle oil. My seared tuna steak (special) was done to perfection, not overdone or dry around the edges, and came with plenty of roasted vegetables and side salad. My server was well versed in BXL's beer offerings and attentive without being intrusive. Next time I'm in Midtown East I'll return to sample other menu items and/or enjoy the bar scene."
