Diner Reviews
  • "II was definitely disappointed with this last visit that I may think twice before returning. Upon seating, the hostess asked if we could be done by 2:30 because another reservation is scheduled then. I told her I'm sorry we had a reservation too, so why should we be rushed?! Although our server was nice and personable, he wasn't visible much and I ended up having to ask the hostess to provide us with silverware. The buffet did not stay stocked, which was not due to an excessive crowd. The food did not remain hot and taste has been better. I left the venue feeling empty and disappointed. I should have simply ordered from the menu because the buffet was not worth it. Plus, there was no live entertainment as promised."

  • "I truly enjoyed the food at Buttons in Addison, TX. However, I was disappointed about not having a live band. When we made reservation, it showed that there would be a live band. When we arrived, we only heard Luther playing in the background, which, of course, was not a bad thing. We enjoyed the music that was playing, but were expecting a live band. Nevertheless, I ordered the salmon/spinach/potatoes, which were amazing, my hubby ordered the chicken and waffles, which he truly enjoyed. I truly enjoyed the food and the service. The waiter was courteous and check on us constantly, which we appreciated. I was expecting to pay a lot, but the tab was very affordable. We will definitely be returning."

  • "We had the brunch buffet. The food was excellent!! There was a good selection of lunch and breakfast options. I would come back for the greens, mac and cheese and cheesy grits any day!! Definitely satisfying soul food. I would recommend the restaurant puts covers over the food to keep hot and preserve freshness. Overall, I highly recommend Buttons for the food."

  • "Entrees were average. Sweet potato pie is the best you'll find at a restaurant. Live Music was great. DJ music was too loud. They kinda politely kick u out after 2 hours - even if u are still buying drinks."

  • "The food was amazing as usual but the music was mediocre compared to previous experiences."

  • "The restaurant stops serving Sunday brunch and closes at 3:30 pm or 4:00 pm, and reopens at 5:00 for dinner. Unaware of the closing time I made reservations for the first available time 3:00 pm. I ordered from the menu and was very happy with my order. My friends could not decide. The waiter was patient allowed them to change their orders and everything was fantastic"

  • "Chose Button's Addison for my 28th birthday dinner; VERY fun! Natural Change was playing--bring them back! Had a great table on the main floor, our waiter was attentive and fun, made sure we were happy at all times. Chicken and waffles were DELISH! Oxtails were amazing, too, so tender. That knockout punch definitely packs a punch! Music was jumping, loud enough to make the room hop without overpowering the night. Thanks for a great birthday dinner!"

  • "Enjoyed the Chicken and Waffle dinner, it was really, really good. I went there for a birthday celebration and enjoyed every minute. The atmosphere with the band playing and the delicious food made the evening a memorable moment. I can't wait to return and become a regular customer. Great, great time was had by all!"

  • "This was the first time that I had brunch at Buttons, but it will not be my last. I was not impressed with the buffet so my friend and I ordered off of the regular menu which is very limited also. The wait for the food was rather long, but the entertainment in the building definitely made up for the minor aforementioned things. The house band opened with gospel songs which were very fitting for a Sunday afternoon. Over the course of the meal, the selections changed into smooth R&B songs. The singer was awesome and made the experience! The chicken and waffles are always a safe bet when eating here. I highly recommend them and will be back again."

  • "Very limited menu choice on Sunday, especially if you refuse to eat buffet food."

  • "This is the first time I felt the wait staff was professional & service was really good. It was the first time service matched the prices. Unfortunately, the food was subpar overall. We order 2 appetizers & sent both back to the kitchen. The calamari was rubbery & the fried green tomatoes were really gross, bland & the crust was saggy. We sent those back & ordered two servings of wings, which was really good. Ordered chicken & waffles for dinner waffles were soggy but chicken was tasty. I keep returning to Button's because I like the concept & really want the restaurant to work. But it's a little frustrating to continually spend over $100 a visit for mediocre. It will be great to visit when everything are on point at the same time."

  • "We was seated on time. But had to wait about 20 min for someone to even take our drink order. The service was bit that great but overall we had a great time. Food was excellent. The band was amazing."

  • "Maybe when Buttons first came on the scene it was good, but not anymore! Our food was awful, gross and unappetizing presentation! It was July 4th in Addison, a big night for restaurants, and they were out of many things. We were an early reservation, so no excuses. Our service was horrendous and we will never be back."

  • "After seeing this restaurant highlighted on two TV programs, we were excited about giving it a try. Our server was nice and attentive. The music was good, but WAY TOO LOUD for the size of the room. We were at the back of the room, but still could not hold a conversation at our table without shouting. Last, and most disappointing, the food was horrible. While the presentation was nice, it lacked flavor and basic seasoning. I wondered if the chef was even sampling the quality. Maybe this establishment would be better presented as a bar than a restaurant."

  • "i always enjoy buttons. my server was great, but wouldve preferred her not to sit down with us or use slang. The food came out hot and delicious. Never had a problem with the food coming out bad. Reuben Lael and the band was great."

  • "i enjoyed a Mexican Martini and the flash fried Shrimp on the 1/2 off app menu. Great value and delicious. For dinner we moved to the dining area into an oversized booth. Comfortable seating but the server could hear anything we said over the volume of the music being played by the live band (who was entertaining). The meal was delicious and prepared appropriately. Delivery to the table was perfectly timed. Dessert? - Not so good. I had the Pecan Thang and it was disappointing. It looked like a bowl of caramel and chocolate swirls all melted together and tasted like granulated sugar, butter, caramel sauce and chocolate syrup just mixed together. HATED IT! After a good meal, I left disappointed by dessert."

  • "Great atmosphere for entertaining out of town guest as well as locals. I enjoyed the relaxed and comfortable atmosphere the patrons next to us were friendly and courteous (not to mention pretty). The drinks were priced good and tasted great. The chicken and waffles was something new I tried and liked. The entertainment was outstanding. All in all we had a wonderful experience, I will definitely return to Buttons."

  • "Buffet set up and food was not visually appealing or very tasty. Bland and some things like green beans were over cooked and mushy. Perhaps it's better regular menu and with music and drinks. Wait staff were great."

  • "I really enjoyed my experience here, The place was packed yet we didn't have to wait long to be seated (reserved seating). The food is top delish, bold and perfect! The service has been pretty respectable; I had a group with me so it was nice to be able to talek and dance and enjoy the atmosphere!!"

  • "It was my first time going to Buttons. I was so disappointed the band was playing so loud we couldn't hear each other when we were talking. The table they sit us at the bulb was so dim you was unable to read the menu. I had to bring the menu up on my phone. For the food I got the chicken and waffles, collard greens and mac and cheese. The only thing I like was the chicken it was warm not hot. My friend got the shrimp and grits I was told the shrimp was bland. The waiter we had was nice and friendly."

  • "Drove to Addison from Houston just to check this place out. Well worth the trip. Although i don't understand if you are dining why is there a $10.00 cover charge? I guess its to pay the live band."

  • "Arrived when they opened. Took almost a hour for our food to come out and it was non one else in the restaurant. Food finally came out and was cold. The food was distasteful and bland. The macaroni and cheese taste/looked gravy. Worse brunch place I've ever been too. Came from Houston to try out the famous "Buttons" and I was totally unsatisfied."

  • "Is not how my steak was prepared. Even after our server came back to verify that was my request. It took almost ten minutes after being seating to get any service. Not the same Buttons that I've been going to to. Took off the Foxy Red from the menu and did not replace it with any new items."

  • "I had friends coming in from out of town and thought about taking them here and I am glad I did. We had grown and sexy fun and still had a good meal. I made reservation and we were seated right away. Reservations are a MUST! The live band was nice and drinks were great!"

  • "Making one is useless at this location. Besides that, the food was good. Chaotic and probably wouldn't go again on a holiday, but the food was good. The live behind was amazing."

  • "NO FOOD ON BUFFET AND MANAGEMENT DID NOT ACT AS THOUGH HE WAS CONCERN... "

  • "First time at Buttons. I had the chicken and waffles (first time!) and they were phenomenal! My wife had the Oxtails and said they are just as good as her mom used to make. The collard greens were really good though my wife found them a bit too greasy. The live jazz band was really good, but loud. When the band wasn't playing the house music was loud as well...but you know what they say...if it's too loud you're too old! We can't wait to go back and try Sunday brunch. "

  • "Some of the food was toooo salty. This gravy around the shrimp in grits, those Glory Greens and Green Beans too salty take it down a couple of notches."

  • "Saw good reviews about their Sunday brunch, so we decided to give it a try. Sadly, the entire experience was underwhelming. The food was mediocre. Service was average. Ambiance was average. I can't recommend it and defintely won't be going back for brunch."

  • "We made a reservation for lunch (there were 3 of us), but it was not needed, they were not busy when we arrived. I had very high expectations for the food but I was very disappointed in the flavor. Nothing I ordered seemed to have any seasoning, it was all flavorless. We ordered the flash fried shrimp for an appetizer and it just had no flavor. I had the fish and shrimp and I substituted garlic mashed potatoes for the grits and it was also flavorless. I tried the fried chicken from my son in laws chicken and waffles and it was also flavorless. The presentation was nice though. But I would still like to give the Fort Worth location a try and give it a chance to redeem itself."
