Butera's Restaurant of SayvilleWe loved it!We chose Butera's for a late afternoon Mother's Day dinner. We were a party of 8 adults and one infant. The staff was great, very accomodating with friendly and efficient service. The family-style dishes were plentifull and everything we chose was absolutely delicious, especially the Grilled Salmon Medallions! Being a holiday, the dining room was full and the tables a bit too close together. Large portions and each dish was considered delicious. We were seated, served and out the door within the requested hour. We got put in the extra room in front which was disappointing but quiet. It is a good room for a large group but if you are alone you feel like an outcast. I love the other larger rooms which are louder and more happening.

We were greeted and orders were promptly taken. The food was delicious--we had the chicken francaise (which is pretty much my standard order for whenever I'm at an Italian restaurant) and it was one of the better ones i've had. It took awhile for the food to come out and one of us ordered a soda midway through dinner that took a little longer than was comfortable, but we lingered at our table once we were finished for a good amount of time and nobody rushed us out. It was the first time we dined at this Butera's location. We felt welcomed as soon as we walked through the door. The staff was genuinely friendly, especially our waitress. The food was amazing. We shared the chicken and shrimp with vodka sauce. We couldn't stop eating it. I loved the Italian wedding soup, the best I've ever had. My dessert was the amaretto and almond cake and it was amazing. Our waitress was also great, sweet, efficient and knowledgable. When we got there though no one made us feel weird about being there. We ended up sitting at the bar, and chatting with the bartender and other guests. The bartender is great! Super attentive and genuinely a sweet kid, handled his guests well. So far, every time we sit at the bar, our experience is much better than sitting at a table. You would think it's the other way around but the bartender goes above and beyond to take care of his guests. Great job Mr. Powell!
