  • "Found the restaurant from open table reviews and decided to try something new. The service was impeccable. We started with the tapas appetizer which was very good and definitely large enough to share with several people. The blt salad is also great. We agreed with other reviews that you should get the sauces on the side as they are a bit heavy. Portions are nice size. The goat cheese cheesecake was phenomenal. The only thing that really bothered all of us is the restrooms are not in the restaurant but outside."

  • "Had dinner with friends on Saturday. Had a half price drink at the bar and found both bartenders to be extremely friendly and knowledgeable. We started our dinner with the cheese that they made at the table which was very good and entertaining. We all had steaks and were able to substitute a potato of our choice instead of the fries. Meat was cooked to perfection and delicious. We ordered desert but was too full to thoroughly enjoyable. Music started and we hated to leave. A great evening"

  • "3rd visit...the first two times were great however, this time the music was way too loud. I don’t understand this need for loud music in a social setting. Background music yes, but this frenetic level of music is distracting and make it difficult to have any conversation. We ordered the fresh mozzarella and tomato appetizer as we have in the past; part of the fascination with this appetizer is the preparation and presentation. The Italian gentleman who prepares this is so authentic and entertaining: This visit we could hardly here him over the music. We did ask that the music be lowered however; we did not recall any change. This restaurant has such a relaxing, tranquil outdoor space; it would be nice to enjoy it."

  • "I say hidden gem, since there is no exposure from the main road. This restaurant is, first of all, a very nice place with plenty of outdoor seating in a center with very nice atrium in the middle. The environment is friendly and the service was friendly and prompt as well. The BLT salad is very nice! The rib-eye steak was seasoned and cooked perfectly so I was glad I did not use the butter or demi offered with it. The baked potato (sub for the fries) was large and done right. The Mediterranean Tapas spread was an antipasto type presentation and is plentiful and good. The Chop Chop salad is also large and good. Outside they had a DJ and and outdoor bar and the place is just great! (my first time there and, ha, I don't even know the owners!)"

  • "outdoor with beautiful fountains. delicious mouthwatering flatbreads with really fresh exotic mushrooms (the real thing) and other flatbreads with fig procisouto and more. salads can't be beat..the Chop Chop has all kinds of interesting ingredients all fresh including some apricots, craisins along with quinoa chicken and goat cheese with fresh grilled corn. Main dishes are really good kebabs, salmon and meats. There is a chocolate dessert that is heavenly. If you haven't been, it is a must go."

The Mozzarella was actually made table-side which we have never seen done before at a restaurant. For entrees we had the Salmon, Rib Eye Steak, Chicken and Angry Shrimp. Everyone raved about their dishes. Sat outside which was very nice. Fountains nearby added a nice feel. There was a guitar player/singer who was quite good although at times the volume seemed too loud."

  • "We were able to secure a last minute sat reservation and got outdoor table looking at fountains. Service a bit of an issue...we chalk it up to a relatively new place..blips included offering to make any kind of cocktail but unable to do a Bellini, having to ask repeatedly for said drink, reminding to bring the side of ordered French fries. Ordered the warm mozzarella with tomatoes and thoroughly enjoyed. Tuna credo was different, thick pieces if tuna on tomato with mashed avocado. Dinners were salmon, shrimp and grits and a rib eye. All were excellent. An interesting menu. We will definitely return."

  • "We would give it another try, only because the manager explained the confusion in the kitchen. The food was pretty good, but we sat forever without food. The waitress took our bread away and we thought that meant the food was about to arrive. We were very wrong! We ordered two soups which should have come out right away, it took forever. Hope they get their act together soon or they will not be open long."

The entree was served without his utensils being replaced. He had to flag someone down for a new setting. We both ordered steaks. He was given a steak knife, I was not. Not a way to run a restaurant. ."

  • "I found the service excellent. Our server was well versed in the menu and helpful in guiding us in our choices. The food was fresh and tasty. Watching our food preparer make the fresh mozzarella tableside was a unique and fun experience. The salad itself was delicious. My steak was well prepared. The brussel sprouts were a highlight. All in all the Butcher Block Grill was a pleasant discovery and I would recommend it for people who enjoy well prepared food."

  • "I was disappointed. Based upon the reviews, I expected the steak to be fantastic. It was tasty but was charred and not Pittsburgh which is how I asked for it to be cooked. I cannot recommend. There are so many better places to eat. You also need to check the bill carefully."

  • "I hesitate to give this place a good rating because; I don’t want anyone to know about this gem. We have been able to get a table outside on a Saturday night, twice in a row now. Our first visit was wonderful; we were actually able to have table conversation, with no loud music to distract, just the peaceful sound of water in the pooled courtyard, live music at a reasonable distance and volume. The next week we invited our best friends to join us. Again excellent! The weather has been so nice and the outdoor space is perfect. The food is made with all-natural ingredients. This is our new favorite spot. You must order the tomato and mozzarella appetizer; it’s a nice surprise."

It was a bit chilly but the outdoor heaters made it comfortable-that is until the restaurant manager moved it away to another table without saying a word. And then complained about his lack of ability to work the heaters when we requested another Food/ambiance/wait staff-all terrific. Manager on duty needs customer service training."

  • "You would think that if you were putting out a fixed price menu it would be your best offerings considering you might have new customers and this would be their first experience in your establishment. My first experience with Butcher Block was weak. Even the servers were unhappy with the menu. My wife's scallops were under cooked and we had to send them back and the new ones arrived after I had finished my fillet. It was interesting sitting near the kitchen hearing all the chatter, PEOPLE IN AN OPEN KITCHEN WE CAN HEAR YOUR COMMENTS BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU SAY! I could see quite a few plates coming back for various reasons. The restaurant tried to serve upscale food but fell short of their goal. Truly an over priced disappointing experience."

  • "This is not a misspelling. The restaurant buthchered a good block of steak. Prime beef should have lots of marble to enhance its taste and flavor. Fat doe neither. At least one quarter of the steak was fat. The rest was extra lean. Rare at a steak house means cool red center, not a pink color bordering on medium at best. Why didn't I send it back? I did not want to wait another hour to eat. And the table side mozzarella? Straight from the kitchen. While good, I was looking forward to the presentation. What is outstanding? Try the brussel sprouts. Cant comment on dessert because we were in a hurry to leave. I've heard some good things about the Outback. Its either that or back to New York Prime."
