The food was excellent and loved the option of preparing the steaks on the stones, every bite hot! We tried the deviled eggs appetizer, a little disappointed that the Dijon Mustard was overpowering, and same with the Truffle Mac and Cheese. But our disappointment was acknowledged by our server and a new dish was brought out to replace. So we asked if we could order steaks off the dinner menu. They agreed. I ordered 8oz filet mignon and it was cooked perfect and was delicious. My wife ordered 8oz ribeye. It was overcooked, extremely lean and had little flavor. It is a good restaurant. Having frequented the other local fine dining establishments over the years, I was really surprised when I was blown away by the service and food here. Cyprus, Magnolia, McGrady's, and High Cotton ahold be rethinking their approach if they want to keep up with the new kid in town. The service was attentive and personable. We were visiting from out of town so we hadn't really heard much about this place. We made a reservation for 815pm at the "Romantic table" but when we got there, there was a couple still there. The staff apologized continuously during our 1 hour wait for the table, but did not rudely rush the couple out. I thought that was wonderful considering i would expect the same treatment. We waited patiently in the bar area where there was lively conversation and great drinks. When we were seated they apologized again with a complimentary glass of champagne. Over all the energy, great food and great prices were amazing. The filet was great, my spouse choose braised short ribs and then remembered why he didnt care for that cut. He said it was good but would not order again. I did not care for the crushed cheese crackers in the squah casserole. So i sent it back and had broccolini instead. The creme brulee had a touch of lavender and closed out our meal.

Burwell's had so many unusual and enticing selections, we wanted to come back before we even ordered! We all chose the Wagyu Steaks and a Kangaroo Loin. Never thought I'd try that, and so glad I did. The wait staff is well trained and along with the kitchen accommodating for off menu service. Now for the main course. Steaks cooked on a 700F stone at your place setting is not only unique but the steak itself in top grade. My only suggestion to the kitchen is to expand their choice of salads. Desserts are house made and we ordered the smores with the marshmellows made in house. The steaks here (cooked over a wood fired grill) were excellent. Side dishes are reasonably priced and while big enough for sharing they are not to the point of being ridiculous which allows you to try several different items. We had had a busy day & I had pretty much lost all desire to go out. But the sitter was on her way. I only desired a quiet, relaxing dinner. When we walked in I wanted to turn & walk out. It was loud & busy. We were promptly greeted & whisked upstairs to a private & much quieter table. We celebrate our monthly anniversaries, Husband had let them know (it slipped my mind as I was only thinking of the yearly). They brought glasses of champagne & gave very attentive service. Food was excellent. We have eaten at many steakhouses across the US & yet, Burwell's fillet (a special that evening), was the best we have had! We started out on the roof top bar and lounge for some delicious cocktails and terrific atmosphere. The rock candy appetizer was fantastic. Thin cuts of steak cooked on a small stone at your table, with a port wine and Gorgonzola sauce that was awesome. Our party had 3 of the catch of the day(flounder) and a land and sea(filet and lobster) and we all thoroughly enjoyed out meal. Desert was a 20 layer crepe( not as big as it sounds ) that was a perfect compliment to our meal. Great staff, great atmosphere and great food. Burwells has been on my list of new places to try and it did not disappoint. Ambiance, service, food and presentation were outstanding. Super helpful, super happy from the manager to the bar and table staff. Everyone seemed genuinely interested in making certain we felt welcome and had a great experience..........and we did!
I was also very impressed that a member of the management team called me yesterday to follow-up. THAT doesn't happen often!!

Everyone's food was great. Our waiter, Eric, took great care of us and understood the menu as well as how to make sure we had an enjoyable evening.
Although the menu is pretty meat-oriented, one of our party was a vegetarian and there was no problem at all with accommodating.

The food was really good. Cooking on the hot stone was a great experience and really fun. Perfect for a first date because it is a great ice breaker since you are actually "doing something". Meat was great and cooked perfectly. Pretty upscale place and server did a great job. I brought someone here for a business meeting and it worked out great. Downstairs was pretty lively and noisy.
