We were almost the only ones in here on a Sat night (first clue), and still the service was slow. Worse yet, they have the audacity to charge $24 for a lasagna dish! We're from SF and have never paid more than $16 for the same that was better. This pasta was so bad my wife sent it back, as the pasta wasn't even cooked through! The Pizza had no flavor, boring crust and sauce that seemed canned. Only redeeming feature were the garlic knots, but hard to feed a family on these. One of the worst restaurants I've eaten at.

Our waitress was fantastic, however, both of my andmy husband's meals were bland. The dessert made up for it though; a chocolate tart and lemon cake with chantilly cream!

Mixed reviews from our table of 8 lead me to be unable to give this more than a C+. While my crabcake special was very good with perfect roast potato wedges (described as fingerlings but were not) and steamed vegetable, friends choosing lasagna and stuffed shells bolognase complained about both the sauce and the ricotta cheese. While we New Yorkers may know Italian food, the owner is from NYC, so it was tough to give a higher grade. The establishment is pretty but the houses inability to offer appetizer portions of pasta dishes was also a negtive given the limited choices for kids. So,a good, but not great experience and not something to recomend to parents with kids and a palate that goes beyond the basic tenders, mac'n, pizza and pasta.

This was our first time getting a pizza and it was very good! It was also the first time to get their grilled caesar salad which was very different but good. The food is always good and it is one of our favorite places to eat when we are in Williamsburg.

Don't be fooled by the nice decor and pristinely set tables. The service we received was something you would expect from an Ihop. We were one of two tables inside for an early dinner, and our waitress had both of the tables. She cared more about the table who ordered a bottle of wine, and was clearly trying to earn a better tip sucking up to them. Our entrées came sometime later. I ordered the lobster Mac n cheese, the lobster was severely overcooked, and the sauce was so bland, under seasoned it was un edible. The managers excuse was the cook is new. Needless to say this place is not authentic anything much less Italian. Don't waste your time or money.

I haven't been in town for over a year. I stopped in at my favorite place, and they are sporting a new look and a new menu. I was entertaining guests, and we all agreed that Buon Amici has done it again. What a great meal and good time. The owners stopped at every table and spoke to every guest. You don't get service like that anywhere else.

Overall retaurant was nice. Service was good, but not great. Waiter and trainee were friendly, but had to be asked a few times to fill our water glasses. Food, when it came, was good except the pizza. Unfortunately that seemed to be ready long before the other three dishes and sat under a warmer. When it was delivered, it was limp. We did not deem it bad enough to ask for a replacement (time constrain), but the cost was not removed from the bill (which would have been a nice jester). I think we would go back for another try just to see if this was a one time problem.

The new menu is fantastic! I ate at Buon Amici three times within the past few weeks and every meal was amazing. The new chef, Chef Stephan Luna, has created a wonderful new menu which has really given Buon Amici new life. Chef is extremely talented and creative and not only pays attention to every detail, but personally checks each dish before it leaves the kitchen. AMAZING food. Try the Grilled Romaine Caesar...wow! The succulent prawns (huge!) wrapped in prosciutto, the Gamberetti Oreganata (best I have ever had!), the delicious Bronzini and don't leave without trying the Fried Olives. Addicting! For dessert, the BAKED ALASKA over a chewy brownie wins the grand prize.

They ran out of most of the food. They didn't have standard drinks that most restaurants have. The candle on our table had a sharp broken edge. Food was decent but over salted and very over priced. For a restaurant that touts itself as a fancy dining experience - they need to get their s*** together.

Buono Amici has allways been one of our favorites from their beginning. Owners Tony & Denise always have provided a warm welcome. Food here is dependable and of the highest quality. A pleasant experience consistently. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals - Rigatoni with meatball @ sausage and Veal Parm with Fettuccini were yummy. A note - make reservations, a very popular place.

I was dissapointed in Buon Amici. 1. The menu on the web site is not the menu used at the restaurant. Neither of the choices we had picked were on the actual menu. 2 The sauce for the calimari was watery spagetti sauce. The tiny dollop of mango sauce was good, however. 3. The baked ziti was overall bland. The house made sausage was excellent, however. 4. The shrimp orig...... could have used more sauce. 5 The deserts were excellent. The raspberry/chocolate item was delicious as was the carrot cake. 6. The service was excellent. I probably won't go back

This was not my first visit to this Williamsburg restaurant. I expected great service and was rewarded. The owner took the time to come to our table and talk to us about Italian wines and then selected a beautiful red from Compana. Service to expected from this lovely Italian restaurant. The cannoli were beautiful and the risotto cooked perfectly, Ramsey would be pleased.

    OpenTable Diner Since 2012
    Dined on 4/11/2013
Our first time at Buon Amici --- NOT the best of beginnings. Calimari appetizer was overbreaded and rubbery; the meaty parts were tasteless even with breading removed. Salad was quite nice even though the house dressing was potent. Lamb chops were excellent, but a steak knife would have been appreciated. Seafood crepes were definitely short on the seafood ingredient --- barely 2 shrimp & scallops TOTAL...but tasty. The most annoying part --- we were seated inside for an early dinner and the boss was holding court at the bar. A motley assortment of people decided to pay homage to her, loudly & not exactly the most polite or considerate group. Servers were very sharp in black & white, but the boss & friends were less "polished".

Once again, we had an unpleasant experience with our waiter. This time he tried to pull a fast one on a pizza order. He told our friend that he couldn't make a change. The change was that our friend didn't want an item on the pizza. Instead the waiter made our friend "build" his pizza which would have made the cost an additional $4. When the mgr walked by, I questioned him. He got it straightened out. The couple sitting next to us told us that they weren't even told of the dinner specials, that the first time they heard there were specials was when our waiter told us about them. Good food as usual, but the service is an issue. Sit outside, not in the dining, thus avoiding this waiter.

We had a late dinner here this past week. We chose the grilled shrimp pizza. It was good but I think it could have benefitted from some additional sauce or vegetables like peppers. The baked manicotti was also good - very cheesy! Our waiter JJ was very pleasant and took just the right amount of care in serving us. The restaurant was very quiet because it was late I think and he had just the right balance of checking in on us without interrupting us. We're visiting and it seemed like this place is also popular with locals.

The food was very good, and we would have thoroughly enjoyed our meal if it wasn't for the friendly but bumbling service. Our waiter brought us the wrong bottle of wine, blamed the "pizza guy" being slammed for one diner's pizza being late, blamed the "garlic knot guy" being super busy for not giving us enough garlic knots for the table, and then gave us dessert menus while two people at our table were still eating their entrees! The table next to us received a red sangria when they had ordered a white sangria.

A lovely restaurant in the New Town area of Williamsburg. Great pizza and some very good Italian dishes. 1/2 price appetizers in the bar and patio areas but not in the dining room (which seats maybe 30 to 35 at beset)during Happy Hour. They shouldn't segregate the 1/2 price appetizers to just the bar and patio. That's a bad business decision. Otherwise, a good dining experience.
