The place was unusually busy and although there were 2 tables that already paid, tbut neither was leavibg - hey stayed on and on to talk, as a result, the hostess didn't seat us until 9pm! The restaurant was very apologetic and treated us with free tequila shots and dessert. We were given great service, there were plenty if appetizers (pepper poppers, burratta) to hold us over before the dinner. The original chicken paillard is back! I had the kicken fried chicken with a kale slaw that is scrumptious! The Sunday special fish tacos are also very tasty. The grilled snap pea appetizer was just perfectly done and a good pairing with champagne. My vegetarian entree--spring vegetables sauteed with Thai curry--was one of the best dishes I've had. We'll be back to find out what else this talented and meticulous kitchen staff can do.5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMGood food, Nice SettingWe had a very nice meal at Bungalow 44 and I'd be willing to try it again. The setting is nice, tables not too crowded together and moderately noisy. Our waiter was very nice but it was very difficult to understand what he was saying (an odd accent or speech impediment?). Our Brussels Sprout salad was delicious and the kitchen split it for us (since we were sharing it) which was very nice. Of our two entrees, the Chicken was very tasty and well prepared. However, the 2nd entree, the pork chop was a fatty and oddly boney cut of meat that was overcooked and difficult to eat (because of the bones).5/20/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic Friday Night in Mill VallBungalow 44 is a great place for dinner, appetizers or just a drink. The food was excellent (had steak tartar, pear salad, ahi tuna and rib eye, started with fries too, but should have skipped those, too much food!), our server, Davide, was great and attentive and we had great conversation with him. His recommendations were spot on. Had a perfect little table for two in the corner of a comfy leather booth where we could people watch! It was my wife's birthday, we had a table in the back room, it was quiet. Also, they comped her cocktail.

The menu might not sound particularly 'healthy' but the food was prepared that way. We had the Artichoke fritters and they were not oily or overly breaded; pasta was fresh; even the hamburger was done perfectly. Oh, and you can get 'bread on request' - DO IT!
