Bull & Bear Steakhouse - Waldorf Astoria New YorkI understand why your restaurantI understand why your restaurant is heralded as one of the best restaurants in America..
Absolutely outstanding food and service!6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat venue for special occasionsMy wife and I really enjoyed the Bull & Bear. We were staying at the Waldorf Astoria and chose this restaurant for my birthday dinner which was also our last night in New York after staying for 5 nights. The restaurant has so much atmosphere. We had the steak tartar and the crab cakes to start. I had the New Strip for my main while my wife ordered the tenderloin. The food was simply fabulous. Not enough space for dessert but overall a fantastic meal.5/28/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome Night..Will definitely make reservations there again. My only gripe is that my filet came out med instead of med/rare. Everything else was perfect!5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMA very good dining experience.A very good dining experience. Excellent food. The only thing to mar the evening a bit was a table full of self-indulgent young women whining about their lives, louder and louder the more wine they drank.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent meal and ambienceWe were staying at the Waldorf and made reservations to dine at the Bull & Bear prior to a concert. While prices are on the high-end the food was excellent service was as well. Since we dined at 5:30 Plus it was not particularly crowded at the time. The dining room and bar area are beautiful and we're surely the inspiration for some scenes in the TV show mad men. Steaks were tender and cooked perfectly and all the other items were excellent. I was also very romantic and pleasant. There are probably less expensive steakhouse options in New York but this is in the Waldorf and it is New York and the prices reflect that. But it is well worth a visit5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMGood food but pricey. One of the most delicious filet mignons I have eaten. Portions are very large - almost family style - ech side enough for two people to share. Conveniently connected inside to the Waldorf Astoria. Very pricey.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMThe perfect romantic dinnerWe got married at the City Hall this Friday and mentioned that when we made reservations for that night at the Bull and Bear Steakhouse. We were definitely not expecting the amazing treatment that we received! Everyone was extremely nice, we got the perfect table, champagne and an iced shellfish platter on the house, and the manager, Mr. Pappas, came by to say hi and congratulate us.
The food was really, really good and the place is perfect for romantic dinners and special occasions. Vintage charm, elegant restaurant PLUS great steak.. what more can you ask for?!5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMEvery thing was very goodEvery thing was very good (wine, food, service, seating, reservation, )
BUT!!!!
the room was too cold; the air-condition was a real reduction.4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMI really recommend this place.I really recommend this place. Food and service were very good.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMPrices way too High. This will be our last visit to B&B. The prices have gone out of sight. $21 for a Martini plus $7 for club soda. I know it's NYC but if i pay $21 for a drink which is vert high I don't expect to again pay $14 for 2 club sodas to chase it!!4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMA cut above the rest!We went for a birthday celebration and the entire experience was first class from start to end. They truly went out of their way to make it a wonderful evening. The food is delicious and the wines impressive. It's a NYC classic that's not to be missed!4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMVery Nice ResturantFantastic food - lovely resturant. Pricey, but as a once in a while special treat, it was perfect.4/8/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat service and food. AGreat service and food. A little more expensive than we are used to paying but worth it. We were celebrating our anniversary and they treated us as such.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMA very enjoyable experienceA very enjoyable experience . Very good food and great service3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Ambiance and very goodGreat Ambiance and very good service. Food was also excellent. And the restaurant, of course, is steeped in nostalgia. A great place to go for a relaxing, non-trendy, yet upscale dining experience.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMPower diningThe steak and broccoli were superb, the lobster was OK, the wines were very good, and the service was among the best I have ever experienced. The Waldorf salad was very good, but side-order sized. The dark woods and low lighting created a masculine, yet intimate ambiance. Great for a power dinner (or lunch, I suppose). Make sure you also wander through the main lobby of the Waldorf.3/19/2013 12:00:00 AM
