Food was good. Lobster bisque was
delightful on a cold winter night. My guest did not enjoy the wedge salad - the presentation looked as if they took a half head of lettuce and plopped it on the plate. The blue cheese dressing had a weird taste. Would definitely not order that again, unless sharing it with 3-4 people. R"

Loved the evening. Vegetables and
salads were fantastic. ( I'm a vegetarian). I was pleasantly surprised by all the vegetable options."
Dined on 1/27/2014
Consistently outstanding. All
around best steak house in Buffalo and possibly nationwide."

This was my first time ever going
to the Buffalo Chophouse, and it will not be my last. Valet parking was free and very fast, we were seated immediately, and our waiter Scott was amazing. Food was delicious and huge portions. We will be back soon!"

We went to the bar before dinner
to have a drink. The bartender (Curtis) was very friendly and helpful with recommendations. We had a good time at the bar, our table service was excellent and the food very very good. I have heard that the Chophouse is so expensive. We found it to be no more expensive than any other fine dining restaurant and the food was excellent as well. The sides were plenty for 2 and the waiter was nice enough to tell us so"

food and service were excellent.
Perhaps a little over priced but very good food."
Dined on 12/17/2013
It was one of the better
restaurants open on Christmas. The food was good and the ambiance was even better. It is relatively quiet and not a bad place for a date."
Dined on 12/25/2013
We have been dining at the Cop
House every Christmas Eve for years. Always great food and special evening. One of Buffalo's best. Our server this year was not prompt with keeping up with our beverages."
Dined on 12/24/2013
They served up great steaks, made
perfect martinis. Portions are generous. A red meat kind of experience. I did find the service, though up to par as expected for this price range, to be a bit on the pretentious side. This is only a personal taste. Many people probably welcome that kind of service, while I prefer atmosphere that is a bit more congenial."
Dined on 12/24/2013
Great food, great waiter, and in
all a great experience!"
Dined on 12/20/2013
My wife and I had a great evening
at the Chop House on Saturday for our private Xmas Party. Had a drink at the bar and ended up dining at the bar because of Curtis. Curtis is very knowledgeable, very personable and made us feel comfortable. So we decided to dine at the bar. Again, a very nice evening. If there was anything that could use improvement, it would be the French fries. They are cut too small, and by the time they get to the table and sit for a few minutes, they are cold. Go with a larger steak fry."
Dined on 12/14/2013
Comparable to the best prime
steakhouses anywhere. The steaks are wet-aged prime beef and they prepare them perfectly."
Dined on 12/7/2013
We were happy that we could make
our reservation online. When we arrived, we were pleasantly greeted by the hostess who showed us to a lovely table next to a window overlooking the parking lot & Shea's. Our waiter was pleasant and helpful. We wanted to spend a quiet, non-stressed evening eating our meal and we got just that."
Dined on 12/3/2013
The service was definitely not up
to standards for a restaurant like that . For what you pay , there should be top quality service . The manager that night did not check in once. The steak was not bad and after they sent my cold steak back , the warmer one was better. Some were too tough and we mentioned that but stayed with the steak we had Good wine selection and my favorite side was the cream corn. The baked potatoes were under cooked. If this is as good as gets in Buffalo then you have a lot of work to do. Jeff Ruby's in Cincinnati is known for great food and even better service. It is possible i would give them another chance and i believe there is potential."
Dined on 11/30/2013
Chris, our server, was very
attentive and steak were perfectly prepared. Quality has a price but all was worth it."
Dined on 11/23/2013
The food was absoulutwly
amazing...by far the best steak I have had in Buffalo. The service was excellent. I would recommend to anyone. VERY pricey but worth every penny....:-). If you are a first timer to the restaurant just know that the steaks are al carte meaning what you are paying for is the meat alone, the sides are separate so plan on spending when you dine here."
Dined on 11/23/2013
Although the steak was wonderful
and great, the place itself -- having not been there in a couple of years has gone way down hill interns of its original pristine, nature, quality & pride. Duct tape on the edge of steps on a carpet has NO place in an establishment of this price and level. The Bartender was AT BEST inattentive. The Waiter was very good. The Steaks were wonderful but the sides simply good not up to the quality they should be. Overall it was like visiting a grandparent who, once was vital and energetic but has begun the inevitable decline towards demise."

Short rib app. was wonderful,
French dip was quite a great sandwich. Drinks were spot on."
Dined on 11/15/2013
Menu items were overpriced for the
quality of the food. Ambiance was heavy and oppressive. Would not recommend to friends. Nothing special."

We have had the pleasure to dine
at the Buffalo Chop House previously, and as always. . .Tthe food was excellent, the sevice incrediable and the waiter (Matt) went above and beyond to make sure all our needs were met. The valet parking attendant was friendly, the hostess was warm and inviting, our waiter was very knowledgeable, prompt with service and offered many suggestions for dinner and wine choices. Matt even showed me where to place my purse (on the little brown leather ottoman). We were so pleased with our evening, Thank you everyone. We know it takes more than a great location, great chef and great food. . it takes a "team" to make the evening perfect, and you did just that."

We went here for my husband's
birthday. Right from the start it's nice because there's free valet service (still tip!), they take your coats, etc. The hostesses and our server were both pleasant and helpful, we had a drink at the bar prior to being seated while waiting for our party and I will say I didn't think she was the friendliest. Seemed a bit snobby. We ordered the stuffed peppers and crab cakes - both were delicious. Everyone loved their steaks, said they were perfectly seasoned and cooked. I wasn't the biggest fan of a la carte family style sides but the mushrooms were good. I ordered a caesar salad and actually thought it was on par with a pizza places salad. I would've expected better quality lettuce etc."
Dined on 10/20/2013
The food was excellent (especially
the bone-in ribeye), as was the service. The dessert was rather bland, though (profiteroles), and the tables were so mashed together that I felt as if I was dining in a large group of strangers, instead of just with my husband. Overall, a great dining experience."

Enjoyed another very good meal at
the Buffalo Chophouse. I never mind paying $$$ when I feel I am getting value for my money. and I always feel like I am getting what I have paid for when I dine there."
Dined on 10/15/2013
We dressed up to go to the Chop
House only to be followed in by two sloppy diners in T-Shirts and jeans who were seated. That killed our dressy night out. The usually busy bar had two guests so you'd think the bartender would go out of his way to be nice...but he wasn't. The table upstairs was very nice and romantic but our waiter was very cocky and made us feel uncomfortable. We could tell by watching the dynamics of the wait staff that there was a lot of discourse between them. We also felt that from the hostess and how we saw her interact with the staff. The food on the other hand was fantastic. We couldn't be more pleased from the hot rolls to the clams to the steak. It was all perfect and we told the chef so. Needs work internally."
Dined on 10/5/2013
Food was good but service seemed
rushed.... for a fine restaurant there seemed like emphasis on turning tables... tables are very close together... not a restaurant for quiet conversations"
Dined on 9/15/2013
Excellent filet. Good wine
choices. A little pricey. Desserts were a disappointment."
Dined on 8/24/2013
We had a really nice meal, but $10
for a wedge salad, $15 for a martini and $59 for crab legs is a bit excessive. Not at all very busy for a Saturday night. Wonder if the "value" question is being asked by many folks? On the up side, Rick, was a fantastic server. Would request him for sure."
Dined on 8/4/2013
The waitstaff was superb. We have
been here once before and the service is one of the best of the restaurants in bflo"
Dined on 8/4/2013
As always the service was amazing,
service was friendly and attentive and the atmosphere is relaxed, romantic and inviting."
Dined on 7/27/2013
Overall the ambiance was nice and
romantic. Dining room temps were a bit on the sticky side. The food was cooked as ordered and portions were good. Filet was tasty however caked in peppercorns which impacted the overall flavor. Sides were large and well presented. Overall a nice meal for a romantic get together."
Dined on 7/19/2013
The service was excellent. The
chateaubriand was without a doubt the best steak I have ever had. The price of beer was reasonable but the long Island ice tea was over priced. As far as entree prices go they were over priced by at least 30%. Overall it was a great experience and I would definitely return and recommend."

Been here a number of times
before. All was well, celebrating my son's 18th. Shortly after us they seated - unbelievably to me - 3 diners in ball caps (backwards of course) and tank top basketball shirts (anfd the obligatory mid calf length shorts) 2 tables away on what was a fairly empty restaurant due to the holiday weekend. Every other word out of one diners mouth started with "F". IT was a four letter word we all know. Cannot fathom why a classy place would allow a table like that to be seated. We won;t be back any time soon. Oh...did I mention the $90 lobster tail...I told me son no...even though it was his 18th birthday. Overpriced and willing to take money from anyone...GET A DRESS CODE."

Best steak I've had in a while -
and I eat a lot of steak around the country. Prepared perfectly."
Dined on 5/29/2013
Everything was nice except the
ribeye was cold, on the outside and inside. returned to reheat, it was a little better, but by then, the lobster was eaten and dinner kind of wrecked."
Dined on 5/18/2013
Our server, Matt, was friendly and
informative. He treated us like royalty. The food was phenomenal as usual. We had tickets for a show at Shea's and were able to leave our valet parked car in the parking lot near the theater. What service!"

They know what they are all about
and do it right- a traditional Steakhouse with all the flare of NY, Chicago."
Dined on 5/10/2013
My family and I dined here this
past Friday evening to celebrate my son's graduation from UB and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. I had a rib steak that was as good and tender as any I've had at the finest steakhouses in the NYC metropolitan area. The service was great; very attentive, patient, and helpful. We were afforded the time to dine. The only thing that I was a little dissatisfied with was our table location. We were seated by the wait station and it was a little noisy when they were refilling the trays with utensils. Also I thought it was a little pricey for Buffalo. Prices were comparable if not more than restaurants in the NYC area. Otherwise, I have no complaints and would recommend this restaurant without reservations."
Dined on 5/10/2013
I read awesome reviews, the
restaurant received 4-5 stars from other reviewers. Admittedly I had sticker shock at the prices of entrees, but assumed it would be worth it. I was shocked at the diner-like quality of the physical menu, and the daily specials menu was full of typos. We had to return a ribeye and a veal chop because they were well done. The staff was young, but polite and gracious. Overall I felt like I was being planked, but sadly I was not. Caveat emptor!"
Dined on 5/10/2013
My family and I have dined here
several times and it has been a great overall experience every time. The staff is very attentive and professional. If there was a problem the waiter/manager handled it fast and professionally. I always recommend Buffalo Chop House to all my family and friends, as it has high quality food, great tasting food."
Dined on 4/19/2013
This is not my first time at this
restaurant. I love the food and I was craving a steak. I took my children and it was a week day. They were VERY accommodating, however I still felt a little uncomfortable with the volume of my children's voices and the extreme quiet of the restaurant. It's usually much more lively on the weekend. Food is amazing!"
