Diner Reviews
  • "We were a table of five and shared our entrees to have a variety of tastes. Half loved the calamari, the other half thought it was too tough. The eggplant parm was actually hard. I had read great things about the lasagna...but I must say, I was slightly disappointed. The portions were huge. The chicken parm was GREAT but the pasta it came with was OVERLY salty! The Osso Bucco and Polenta were OUTSTANDING as was the Veal in bone parm. The XL Lobster Tail for dessert is to die for and I really loved the cannoli. The ambiance was great, the service was stellar! I just have a few complaints....and a few disappointments. Would still give it another try to taste a few more things before discounting it."

  • "My family of 7 really enjoyed the brunch, we were able to try almost everything. We lived the kids corner for our 4 kids really tasty ,my kids loved all the food, especially the meatballs and pizza.Us adults loved the brunch items, carving station, pasta srkections(Mac n cheese ) and shrimp and all of the deserts(tiramisu was my fav!! They even had an Easter egg hunt for my kiddies, service was top notch and I would recommend brunch!!!"

  • "Food was pretty good. Service left a lot to be desired. We waited forever a few times for refills. We saw the bus boy more than the server. He never made any suggestions. The hostess was a bit snooty also. But I do have to say that I am not big on any tomato sauce. But yours was great. Lastly, I don't think that I've ever been to an Italian restaurant or any other that charged the prices you do and didn't offer bread. It's the little things that count."

  • "Had reservations for Easter Brunch w/ my husband & requested a table overlooking The Strip. First off, don't bother making a reservation as they don't honor it. Apparently they take walk-ins as a priority over those w/ reservations. But since we had been wanting to try this restaurant, we took the booth offered. That fiasco aside, food was okay. Panzanella Salad-overdressed. Chef's Corner suffered from over-salting & under-seasoning. The famous Crumb Cake & Biscotti was so dry, & Tiramisu was basically a soaked chocolate base w/ whipped cream on top. Service seemed forced & did not flow smoothly - almost felt rushed. Definitely not in a hurry to return-maybe if friends/family visiting from out of town REALLY wanted to eat here then maybe..."

  • "Excellent food and taste, small portions for the price, but the waitress named Chess or Ches, pathetic service, I would not come back just for that. I will recommend the place, but saying that ask for a table where that waitress is not. Regards"

  • "About what you would expect from a restaurant inside a casino resort: prices higher than say a neighborhood or chain restaurant. Ordered chicken marsala - was decent sized portion for the price - salad was not worth the price - wouldn't order again. Service was great - always came by to refill drinks and check on experience - dined early so wasn't too crowded but overall a nice visit. "

  • "Delicious classic Italian. Come ready to eat. Chicken parm is awesome!!"

  • "The menu is not ridiculously large and over-whelming, but any dish selection is very delicious and delightful. The restaurant has a nice personal touch. Enjoyed my visit!"

  • "I made reservations for our last dinner in Las Vegas at Buddy V's with such high expectations with it being amazing. Unfortunately that was not the case. I ordered the chicken rigatoni "alla vodka" which was very disappointing, the sauce was so overwhelming in taste that it took away from the pasta/chicken that I could not eat it. The noodles were on the harder side than what I like, I felt they could have been cooked longer. Our server was horrible, never once asked how are dinner was because if he had he would have noticed that I didn't touch my food. The only refill we had gotten on our drinks was water only because the bus boy re filled it. Once again the server was horrible and never offered us another refill."

  • "We went with my wife to Buddy's restaurante and we were disappointing. Food is good but TOO pricy for what it was. You can find many other restaurants with same quality of food and experience that will cost a 30-40% less. Dishes were 25 usd each. If you are from a country in which you are used to eat pasta, don't go, you will be two times disappointed. Everyone that use to eat pasta knows that you need a glass of wine. Although you have a very good wine list, they are very expensive in comparison with what other restaurants offer. Furthermore, looks like it is all new and people working there are quite rookies. You have a feeling of disorder and bad management."

  • "The portions of food were great, the presentation looked awesome. However, the taste was so bland it was difficult to eat. I had the Chicken Parm and whatever marinating was done to tenderize the chicken gave it the consistency of a pressed soggy paddy. Unfortunately, it was served with cold spagetti. I ordered an additional glass of Ginger Ale to wash it down. Given that I was by myself, I asked for quiet place. I ended in front of the ordering terminal and had to listen to the waiter and another server joke around for most of my meal. It was quite a dissapointment and I ended up leaving a good portion of my dinner on the plate and simply asked for the check. Not what I expect for paying $65 for a meal."

  • "I never really write reviews, but what a disappointment. Horrible service, slow and while we had a great table with a view and 2 hours to spare, we could not get our drinks in under 30 minutes, entrees finally came then were never cleared and when we wanted to order the "infamous" deserts, they could not guarantee we'd see them in under 30 minutes. An incredible underwhelming and disappointing experience. Don't dine here!"

  • "The overall dining experience I had was ruined by the poor service given by the hostess and waitstaff of the restaurant. When we arrived, despite my having a reservation and the place being empty we still waited around 10 minutes to get a table. The hostess barely acknowledged our existence once we checked in and proceeded to put us in a corner of the restaurant completely alone. Once at the table the bus boys and drink runners were very attentive. They were prompt with refills when necessary and cleared the table as you'd expect. The waiter was just ok but only stopped to check with us once to take our food order and the last time for us to pay the bill. Overall the food was absolutely amazing but was drowned out by the lousy service."

  • "We went to Buddy V's, partly because my 11-year old daughter is a fan of Cake Boss, partly because the reviews I read were very positive. To my daughter's disappointment we didn't meet Buddy but we did get a great meal, their Veal Masala being just as good as I'd read about - and the portion was huge. Surprisingly, the dessert menu was NOT dominated by cakes but it included a homemade salted caramel ice cream which is out of this world."

  • "Having been to the bakery in NJ and seeing his cooking show I was looking for something special. Buddy misses the mark with this one. The food was good, but not great. There are much better Italian restaurants in the general area. The prices are on the high end, and the lobster tails were a HUGE disappointment. They don't compare any where close to the originals from Hoboken. Maybe the best choice is to skip the restaurant side and pick up something from the bakery only. The items in the cases looked great. Hopefully prepared better than the lobster tails."

  • "Lasagna is out of this world! Service was great. Prices are rather high, though. The bakery across the hall (same owner-THE CAKE BOSS) is ridiculously expensive but DELICIOUS! Note: $9 for a few pieces of garlic bread is ridiculous! BUT, it was delicious.... Overall, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT. Buddy is KING of the bakery!"

  • "I love the show Cake Boss, so for a special occasion my family and I decided it would be nice to check out buddy v's and the bakery for dinner. The food was good but the prices were insane! It was $10 for 3 slices of garlic bread for heavens sake. So $130 later for everyone to have a plate (4 people), and one order of garlic bread that we all had to cut in half, I would say we all left disappointed."

  • "The food tastes like it's homemade by an italian nonna. And served professionally like a classy restaurant should, by corteous people that strive to make the experience the best possible. Excellent restaurant!"

  • "We had very high hopes for Buddy V's. Those hopes were dashes with very lackadaisical service. 15 minutes to get a waiter when we had reservations is unacceptable. Then there was the food. I can make better Italian food at home and I can't cook very well at all. And it cost over $100 for this subpar food. While I don't mind paying a premium for good food, paying a premium for subpar food just because of the name on the restaurant is not a good business practice. Skip the restaurant and just go to Carlo's Bakery across the way."

  • "Happened to be in LV and saw Buddy V just opened his bakery and then discovered the restaurant as well. Make opentable reservations for 8pm then showed up at 7:30pm. We were seated at a booth within minutes. The server was attentive, the staff pays attention to details.. all to make your visit spectacular. My friend ordered a Stella beer and noted that it was poured at the table into a Stella glass.. again, attention to details. The food was amazing, even the garlic bread and the portions were large enough to stuff both of us. We wholeheartedly recommend Buddy V's to everyone. Dan"

  • "We were especially surprised at the quality and quantity of food served at this establishment. The Veal Marsala was out of this world, as was the Chicken Piccata. The meat portions were served hot and delicious with a generous helping of meat. They could have added more pasta to balance against the quantity of the meat. Two our of our party ordered Spaghetti with Meatballs. The sauce was all most like a puree, but very tasty. Again the meat was excellent."

  • "Saw a glowing review in the local paper. Went for lunch. Not crowded. Service still slow. But the food was wonderful. I had the meatballs, my friend had the Carbonara. We shared a super rich, super good dessert. Bakery by Buddy V across the way jammed. It had just opened."

  • "This trip to Vegas had us dining at Buddy V's for a third time. The first time I was thrilled with the just-like-mama-used-to-make selections of authentic Italian-American dishes. It was just like being at home on a Sunday night. There isn't anything on the menu that isn't fabulous, and that includes the desserts. This isn't necessarily gourmet Italian, it's down-home Italian; simple, delicious!"

  • "Great quality meal with wonderful service. My husband had Sunday gravy and loved it. Portion was large. I had buccatini and it was scrumptious. We're accustomed to lots of homemade Italian food at our house. This is the real deal."

  • "My fiancé and I went here for our anniversary and everything was great. The food was outstanding, the service was superb and the restaurant itself looked great. It was a little pricey, but it was worth every penny. Buddy himself also happened to show up that night to eat dinner with his family! If you go here, I highly recommend the calamari and the lobster tail dessert!"

  • "We went for lunch on a Saturday. Even though the restaurant was empty they sat us in the bar. We were not offered water and the iced tea we ordered was delivered in a small glass without lemons. Very unlike Las Vegas. I mean, it's a desert out there! The menu was very small and limited. We ordered the meatball smash sandwich and spaghetti with meatballs. The meatballs were good as expected but the sub ruined by too much basil. The fries had too much parsley and seasoning. The servings were exceptionally small for the high price. As locals there are too many very good italian restaurants on and off the strip to waste time here. Usually the LV RJ has very dependable reviews but I guess the difference between lunch and dinner was the reason."

  • "Buddy Vs was the perfect place to escape from a long conference. The food was delicious! The service(Michael and others)) was great and no one was rushing you to finish or pick up your plate before your last bite. I had seen the episode of Cake Boss when his family came to the restaurant and I decided next time I was in Vegas I was going to try it out. It met my expectations and more. Oh and the cannoli oh my my! Also I was with a colleague from my conference and they let us split the entree! ( We are nurses, everyone eats portions that are too large.) We split the egg plant and split the chicken piccata- fabulous! The only disappointment was that we missed seeing Buddy by one day!"

  • "We reviewed the menu beforehand and thought they had a great variety to choose from. I ordered the lasagna and my wife ordered veal. The veal was on the tough side and my meal was overwhelming. The lasagana could easily feed two (maybe three). It was not your traditional lasagna and the way it was prepared had the cheese overwhelm all other ingredients of the lasagna ! We also had hoped the dessert selection would make up for the disappointing meal - we love cake and we thought this would be the place for that. The cake selection was minimal and the one we chose - I think it was called the Italian wedding cake - was just OK. On the bright side the service was exceptional - all aspects - and the atmosphere was also quite good !"

  • "I had been looking forward to this. The waitress was great, she was from Argentine. The pizza was burned and the lobster tail that we had for desert was stale. The glass of wine I had was a rip off. There was maybe one ounce of wine in the glass."
