A word from Buddakan - Atlantic City
Buddakan has been called “a temple of modern Asian cuisine.” But it’s also a testament to the possibilities of inspired design. Upon entering, the first thing one sees is the surreal Asian garden surrounded by multi-level archways and 25-foot trees that seem to grow through rocks, footbridges and the ceiling itself. The dramatic atmosphere and enchanting karma is enhanced by the presence of a gigantic Golden Buddha that watches over the entire restaurant from a head of a 24-foot communal dining room table.   • "We visited Buddakan in Atlantic City for lunch after a weekday stroll on the beach taking in the World Cup of and Sandsculpting. Buddakan was a calm and quiet refuge from the mayhem of the boardwalk and casinos on the Caesar's Pier. Just outside of the Buddakan (but indoors) the Pier has huge windows overlooking the beach, boardwalk, and ocean. Your on a 2nd level above everything so the views are spectacular. Once you go inside the Buddakan, it is serene and the decor is like a private ancient Japanese village or courtyard. Subdued lighting and calming music play against the Japanese architecture of wooden beams and panels. Service was excellent and the food too. Japanese/Oriental/Fusion style food in a wonderful serene setting. Bravo!"

  • "With the exception of 1 appetizer, all the food was very good. The tuna sashimi lacked flavor. Would have rated 5 stars however, our waiter was not very good. He walked away without taking all our orders. Had to ask twice for hit sauce. When we complained about 1 appetizer, he said he would send over a manager, but that never happened. Overall, great food and ambiance. Would definitely go again and hope for better service."

If we had just done a few different appetizers we would have had a great experience. The time between the appetizers and entrees being served was insane...I think we waited about 45 mins. Usually tasting menus are little bites. We did the $70 menu and we were served at least 2 of everything. Sea bass is outstanding. So are the ribs the steak the Cesar salad the duck the monkfish. Everything! The service was top notch"

  • "We visited Buddakan for our 10-year anniversary and the food was excellent. Our waitress was so wonderful that she made our entire evening. I had made a reservation for our anniversary dinner and was excited about the evening. I was disappointed when we arrived because we were given probably the worst table in the restaurant despite our reservation. There were other patrons that did not have reservations that were given better tables. I asked for a better table and was accommodated immediately, but this did really bother me because I noted the anniversary on our reservation. Luckily the waitress made up for the oversight with her knowledge and hospitality. She even arranged for a complimentary champagne toast for our day!"

  • "Hands down one of the best meals I have ever had. Chose Buddakan for a special occasion and it exceeded my expectations. Very prompt service and the manager checked on us multiple times. You could tell the servers and food runners worked as a team and we never had to track anyone down, the staff was constantly checking on us. The specialty drinks were amazing- I would definitely recommend trying a cocktail. The fish of the day was cooked perfectly. Definitely worth the money, they really add value to the meal and make it a memorable experience."

  • "The sea bass is some of the best we have ever had. It is perfectly prepared and the single reason we go back to this restaurant. This trip we of course enjoyed the sea bass along with some crab spring rolls and wasabi mashed potatoes which were tasty too. The eggplant is always a good choice for a side dish, it is full of flavor. The zenful donuts are always a great way to end your experience here. The restaurant is a big part of the experience here and they do theme it well. However it is very dimly lit and can be difficult to see or read, especially your bill....lol...don't worry, it will be $$$. The sea bass alone is worth the price tag on special occasions."

We wish the menu descriptions were a little more detailed (the menu changed so we didn't know what to expect and also what to ask to be omitted ingredients-wise). Also, it's a little pricy for the portion sizes (apps/small plates), but the food is so delicious we splurge for special occasions. We will continue to return for future celebrations."

  • "foot was quite good. Three entrees and 3 appetizers for 3 people still left room for dessert. With 2-3 cocktails the bill was a bit over $100 per person, so not for every day. Lots of choices, many not commonly available. I partcularly enjoyed the duck breast and calamari salad. Shrimp dumplings quite good, too. Service was very quick, surprisingfor a restaurant of this type. Three appetizers and 3 drinks out of the kitchen and at the table in 5 minutes."

  • "Buddakan was a restaraunt I took my girlfriend out for a romantic night out, which was perfect with the ambience. The food goes through a sharing style so it is also good for large groups. The appetizer we got was the boneless spare ribs and for the price you don't get a lot but they were phenomenal. We then had our main course of lobster fried rice (which was delicous) and the Sea bass in truffle sauce which was to die for. We ended with the tiramisushi for dessert which was a perfect interesting take on tiramisu. Overall the dining experience was perfect and we're sure to be going back"
