  • "Server said they were cooking cheese chips. Smelled awful. Service was very good. The children enjoyed it. So so menu."

  • "This is a good place to eat if you are in the neighborhood and looking for comfort food. It's not special enough to go out of your way to find but serves up a decent meal with quality service when you're there."

  • "We went on a Wednesday evening, not a crowded as a weekend. Love the little muffins they give you, delish! I had the Chili spiced Mahi-Mahi with avocado grits, awesome! My friend had the Pan seared Salmon, and she loved it also. Another in my party tried the grilled ham & cheese sandwich, will try this next time, if I can keep from ordering the Mahi-Mahi. The last person ordered the burger, was not impressed. Overall, the food was delish, will definitely be returning."

  • "An old-fashioned upscale diner experience with both glamour, consistently well-prepared food and outstanding service. Reservations not accepted but you can call ahead for priority seating. Go early in the evening, early in the week and you can breeze right in."

  • "Again, another mediocre exp. at the Diner. 2nd time at the Diner in last 2 mos. Svc not up to par again. Lindsay (bartender) was very nice and fun as usual, but our server at the table, once again, not the best. Took him at least 10 minutes before he even greeted us after we were seated (5:30pm seating, not jam packed), no bread plates AGAIN, spilled quite a bit of water on the table next to me while pouring water - never came back to clean it up - I went to the bar to get napkins to clean it up, sorbet was tasteless, hard, grainy snow texture (but taken off the bill), had to ask for water refill AGAIN (same as last time). So far Veni Vidi Vici has been best svc out of 3 BLG rests (diner, Bistro Niko, VVV) we've been to in 2 mos."

  • "We live about 25 miles from the Buckhead and rarely travel into town for dinner. When we do, the Buckhead Diner is a favorite. We like the ambiance, great service and attention to detail. We love to brunch there with out of town guests as we did on this visit."

  • "Not up to the standards of the Buckhead life restaurants. Food was just okay service was lacking"

  • "I have eaten at the Buckhead Diner numerous times but have not been there for quite a while. We started with the pulled pork spring rolls appetizer which were not good at all. I would definitely not recommend them. I ordered the kale salad with shrimp and thought it was quite tasty. My husband ordered the Reuben which he was very disappointed with. He said it didn't really taste like a reuben although it looked good and came with crispy homemade chips on the side. Although the rueben disappointed the chips were crunchy and good. He also ordered a side caesar salad which was swimming in dressing and the lettuce was wilted. All in all not a great experience and not as good as previous times. We will not be going back soon."

  • "The food was great as usual. Our waiter was wonderful. The one problem we had was when we arrived. We had a 7:15 reservation and arrived (5 minutes late) we were told we would have to wait 10 minutes to be seated. As we waited to be seated another couple came in after us and the gentleman stated that they were also a little late for a 7:15 reservation. Somehow, they were seated right away, as my husband and I waited. I am not sure how the other couple was seated first and we arrived before them. We thought this was a little unfair."

  • "I have loved this spot for lunch for a long time but dinner left us disappointed and a little under whelmed. Service was OK and the food just wasn't what it used to be. Not our favorite and wont be back."

  • "Buckhead Diner has been a good, consistent presence in the Atlanta restaurant scene for a number of years. It has interesting menu choices; all are well prepared. This time we had crab cakes with mashed potatoes and asparagus. All well prepared. And trout with corn, lima beans, and mashed potatoes. The corn and lima beans were cooked just right, thus avoiding the tendency to overcook the beans. Mashed potatoes are tough to prepare in a restaurant; tough to keep them creamy and serve them hot. B'head Diner does both; consistently."

  • "We always bring our grandson (who is 20) to Buckhead Diner. We all find it great for the choice of food, friendliness and ease of getting there. We highlly recommend it."

  • "Had priority seating and the manager/host informed us that we had a 15 minute wait. I looked at the many empty tables and asked what was wrong with them. He said he assumed we'd want a booth. Well, I never said anything about a booth. Odd. They serve soda in small bottles (at $2.75 a pop) and waitress neglected to bring glasses w/ice and I had to ask. 15 minutes later (really!) there was still no ice and I again asked "What about that ice? We reordered sodas and then observed her carrying them around while chatting with other tables. Took 22 minutes to finally get glasses and ice. Managers seemed disinterested and sadly, the only one who bothered to ask how our meal was the valet. At more than $50 ea after tip (no alcohol) we expect more."

  • "No wait, good service, wonderful lunch. Chicken dishes were full of flavor."

  • "We enjoyed the experience. Our server was extremely attentive and right on top of things. The food this time was not as good as I have had. 2 salmon orders were dry. There are almost no non dairy options on the menu. The blue cheese chips had too much cheese - almost dripping."

  • "I've been to dinner at the Diner serveral times; this was my first time for lunch. Servers seemed a bit distracted - the lady who poured water offered to find out about sweetness of Peartini but she never came back. Then another server came and took our order, forgot straws for our waters. The calemari was great with addition of crunchy peanuts. The macaroni tots were rather tasteless."

  • "Seating through Open Table was flawless! We arrived early and were seated promptly. The wine and food were very tasty. We also shared two desserts and I can tell why they win awards - they are decadent and delicious. Our server Stephanie was very attentive and the persons who served the food were very precise. The maitre d' came over to our table to check on how the food was. We didn't feel rushed even though the restaurant was packed - this is admirable since often in restaurants when they are busy they try and rush you!!!"

  • "We used OpenTable to get "Priority Seating" at Buckhead Diner . . . and still had to wait 40+ minutes for a table for 2. The food was good for a diner, but not for the price. We felt like most of our money went to the Buckhead rent and the "Buckhead Life" brand. Our waiter did not accurately describe the special. He said it was a "pan-fried chicken breast," but what we were served was half of a fried chicken (including a breast on the bone). I'm sure it would have been good, but that's not what we ordered. The manager offered us a free dessert, but by then we had already paid for 2 hours of babysitting and weren't up for waiting much longer. Don't think we'll go back. Also, parking is a total disaster."

  • "We had priority seating through Open Table. We arrived on-time and was told it would be a few minutes. It was 55 minutes and we could not see any advantage to use Open Table. Everyone who was there before us, was seated before us. There was no apology and the food was okay. Our main course came out within 5 minutes of receiving our appetizers. There are too many good restaurants in Atlanta to put up with this. Never again."

  • "Food was excellent, service was excellent, waitress was very knowledgeable about the menu and was very helpful with selections. Manager came by to check on things and referred to us by name, which was very unusual. A nice, personal touch. This restaurant has been there for many years, and the quality of the food and service explains the longevity."

  • "We arrived a bit late, but got seated right away due to Priority Seating. It was a busy place, but our waiter, Jeff, was very attentive and positive! We ate some winning dishes(Meatloaf and Grouper). I ordered the Banana Pie. One piece was enough to split and still enjoy its yummyness! Fun eating at this happy place. We never felt as if the staff was rushing us. We will return. Maisie"

  • "We walked in & were seated immediately; there were folks waiting. We always enjoy Buckhead Diner & it did not disappoint. Took our four children, 14 to 4 years old for the 1st time. They were very pleased; even had a kiddo size fried chicken (only offered two days a week) & mac & cheese. Desserts were very good; white chocolate banana cream pie!"

  • "First visit, food was ok, nothing spectacular, fourth of July weekend, not very busy. The greek restaurant next door, part of the same group seemed to be very busy."
    Dined on 7/5/2014
  • "In a nutshell, on a quiet Friday 4th of July, the kitchen was far from its best. Tasteless trout and a very undercooked (raw) pork chop comprised dinner. To their credit, the manager took it (the pork chop) off the bill and comped dessert, but the experience left us wondering if the famed Diner was beginning to slip???"

  • "Sorry to report the food quality is not what it used to be. The fried chicken is not cut traditionally and is dry and over-salted (or over seasoned). Slaw was liked by no one. s & S fish combo (shrimp and sole is overcooked and dry. It's all ok but not pano's quality. Sorry."
