  • "One of my favorite restaurants in Marin. Always a great experience."

  • "Buckeye Roadhouse is the best go-to place….we are in Sonoma County and welcome any excuse to head down to Marin. Always consistent, wonderful ambience, food and service. Thanks for another great experience!"

  • "Buckeye remains one of our favorite restaurants in the entire Bay Area. The food, service and ambience are top-notch. The menu is just about perfect - you want to eat everything! When in Marin, Buckeye is always our first choice."

  • "Entrees were excellent. Very disappointed by the meat dishes. Not at all what it use to be. Meat tasted dry and bland."

  • "My husband and I visited this week on a whim - we had dined in the bar before but never in the dining room. Loved the ambiance, our perfect table by the window and the warm rustic yet elegant feel of the space. Our server was wonderful - patient and understanding of my annoying allergies. Loved the peaches & burrata and my chicken entree was cooked to perfection. My husband loved his meatball and was thrilled with the wine list! We will definitely be back!"

  • "I took my husband here for his birthday! We had wonderful fresh scallops and the heirloom tomato and watermelon salad. The dessert was s'more pie which was to die for."

  • "Best meal I've had in a while (especially the halibut & the watermelon & heirloom tomato salad--yum!!). The atmosphere is wonderful & the food is fantastic. Who could ask for more? Oh yeah--also loved my cucumber gimlet!"

  • "We were a group of eight ranging from 12-78 years old. All were foodies. We had the ribs, the chicken, the scallops ,the duck, the lamb and the hanger steak. Also the onion rings and the squid appetizer. Everything was delicious with no exception!"

  • "Great food and service. A restaurant you have to experience."

  • "After years of loving the Buckeye we've noticed a distinct change in both the quality and portions of food recently such that the Buckeye has now off our "go to" restaurants in Marin. This is really sad as the Buckeye is one of the last classy adult bar/restaurants in southern Marin. This weekend we had the the Beef Filet menu item and what was served was 3 slices of beef on a mound of vegies that had a very spicy dressing. Seemed to be a bait and switch between the menu item title and what was delivered especially for $30+ dollars per serving."

  • "One of the few restaurants in Marin that accepts late evening reservations. Service very gracious; oysters bingo appetizer a treat; BBQ ribs tender, tangy and generous portion enough to take some home."
    Dined on 7/2/2014
  • "We love the oysters bingo, but it should be served only when the oysters are fresh and not mushy. Also, our server was very nice, but clueless about what she was serving. I ordered a manhattan with makers mark. The drink I received was very light in color. She should have known that it was the wrong drink with the wrong bourbon with no sweet vermouth. She also failed to serve my daughter the mashed potatoes we requested with the rib eye steak. Attention to details can make such a difference."

  • "We love the Buckeye and have come here for many occasions. We always find the experience enjoyable and a bit special (more than we usually spend)."

  • "We've been dining at the Buckeye for a few years now and it has become a favorite spot for our family. The service is always wonderful and the food absolutely delicious."

  • "Our last visit was pretty awful due to waitress Deana. We had been used to knowledgeable wait staff with patience re my girlfriend's food issues. Deana was visibly bothered by the whole thing and frankly rude. I vowed to never return. My girlfriend said we should give another chance as one bad waitress didn't ruin the entire place. So we came back and JC was great."

  • "Lovely night out with my husband, service was great and friendly food was awesome and delicious."

  • "A group of us came here for a reunion of sorts - different ages and food likes and requirements. All were met! The food was terrific and the atmosphere fun. It was loud, but acceptable, until a group came in and sat next to us - they were so loud we had to leave. This was not the restaurants fault. We had entrée salads, chicken under a brick, ribs and all were great. We had 2 manhattans to drink and they were great with a large spherical ice cube in it. I always like this place."

  • "We have eaten at the buckeye several times. The food is always delicious and the staff is always friendly. This is probably our favorite restaurant!"

  • "Been going to the Buckeye for over 15 years, was always an night that I looked forward to...classic meals that were always delicious and the ambiance is always great. On the last visit, I had the Wedge Salad and the new interpretation of the Petite Filet dish...both disappointed. The 'new' wedge was smaller (not a bad thing) but now has two smallish bacon curls rather than the bits over the salad. Still tasted good, just an unexpected departure. The Filet disappointed on a whole new level. For a dish that was supposed to highlight a good cut of meat, I got instead a pile of vegetable confit with 4 very small slices of (not cooked to order) meat. Won't ever order that dish again, terrible value at $31.50."

  • "the food remains quite good and the wine list extensive, however, there hasn't been much change over the years and now there are restaurants with more interesting and better food. The wine list margins are too high"

  • "We had a great time. The staff was very accommodating. The restaurant was very crowded but we were seated immediately. They didn't rush us at all. Especially liked the raw oysters, the (spicy) tuna tartare, and the lemon desert."

  • "The Buckeye is a long time favorite. I crave the oysters bingo. I am never disappointed by the food, the service or the wonderfully embracing ambience. It is a must"

  • "We had reservations for dinner and were seated promptly which we appreciated. The restaurant is in a neat warm charming interior. It is very large and noisy. The wait person was indifferent, with the starters and entrees dropped off by another person who never said a word. Maybe we were there on a "off night", but we have expected a friendly experience. The butter lettuce salads were just OK with the lettuce a bit wilted and the dressing very mild. The house specialty chicken was spiced hot, moist, and tender. The salmon, a small piece with a nice flavor, served over a tasty quinoa blend. Good, but not special. Do to the noise we skipped desert."

  • "Delicious lunch of bar-b-que ribs, crab Louis salad with the lemon tart dessert. The ribs were tender and juicy, the salad delicious with fresh crab, the dessert to die for! This was a shared lunch for two, and there was enough food for both of us. Service was attentive but not intrusive. Second time I've been here -- would return again if I need a Marin restaurant."

  • "I love this place and always feel confident that anyone I bring there will, too. The onion rings are unbelievable (and I'm not even an onion ring person), the staff is really friendly, and they always seem to have innovative dishes. We ordered a yummy salad which had tomatoes and grilled watermelon on top!"

  • "This is my go to spot for client or casual lunches in Marin. Always have a great meal and great service. For a business lunch, the tables are separated just enough for a good conversation even with a larger group. Its also very convenient, just off 101."

  • "The Buckeye was what brought my parents to Marin County in the 40's. We have celebrated our Anniversary there a few times. It is pricier than we are accustomed to,so it feels like a true splurge. It also feels that way. The service is good and upbeat. We had Enrico. I was slightly put off by the super driven soccer mom sitting next to us…but it is Marin County and that happens. We had Oysters Bingo, and brisket..and salads…and drinks…so much fun. It is a true winner.Bibrant,fun,special."

  • "The portions were very small for the price, but the food was tasty. Plus the restaurant is very loud so it is hard to have a conversation. Use to be much better, but still good."
    Dined on 6/21/2014
  • "This is definitely a go to spot for us. This was our 4th visit to Buckeye Roadhouse and it just gets better every time. The food and service were excellent. We sat upstairs and it was a little loud for our liking. We'll request a downstairs table next time."

  • "creative cocktails from the bar, nice approachable service food was good especially steak and brick chicken, specials celebrate excellent ingredients with special twist - grilled watermelon in tomato salad out of the bone in meatball was only bummer of the evening!"

  • "Buckeye has upped their game recently. Starters, mains and desserts were all fresh, flavorful and well-executed. Amazingly professional yet friendly service on a busy father's day."
    Dined on 6/15/2014
  • "Everything was great except the waiter forgot that it was my husbands birthday, so he was not surprised with a candle in the dessert. I had written in the reservation, and even the hostess greeted him on the way out with happy birthday. It gets very loud, but if you know that that already, than it is not a surprise (we have been there a number of times, so the noise level was not unexpected - just don't go expecting a quiet, romantic dinner)!"

  • "Nothing better than Oysters Bingo and a cocktail although friends say the same for the ribs"
    Dined on 6/18/2014
  • "This gem of a restaurant is located in Mill Valley just off the 101 in Marin County, 10 north of the Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco. The Oysters Bingo is one of a kind, my wife and I go there to order and eat as much Bingo as we can. Ribs are fantastic, always get great service, the ribeye is delicious and you can't leave w/o trying the Smore Pie. Counting the days till our next visit."
