Buckeye RoadhouseDespite he crowd we were seatedDespite he crowd we were seated on time. Service was excellent.6/13/2013 12:00:00 AMyummyAlways great food, another good meal. They have changes the pork chop which I thought was perfect before, it was tasty but I don't think I would order it again...which is probably good for me because that was what I always ordered. I would tell people that it was the Best Chop in the World. Go back to the old way, it was perfection! My husband had the fish special, it was excellent.6/3/2013 12:00:00 AMWE spent some time there andWE spent some time there and were not rushed/ just a great service and food6/3/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious and QuaintBuckeye Roadhouse has the feel of a country Inn in Europe. There is a friendly atmosphere and professional service.6/3/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful Garden PatioTook some friends to celebrate a birthday and we were fortunate that the garden patio was available, it was a bright, sunny day, and the tables are spaced far enough apart, so that one can carry on a normal conversation. The drinks were good, the food was good, and the service was outstanding.6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMGraduation BrunchOur party of 7 enjoyed a great Brunch as we celebrated our daughter's High School Graduation. The Restaurant was full of other patrons who seemed to be celebrating a similar event.
Our table was ready when we arrived and we were seated immediately. Service was excellent from start to finish. Food was delicious and served promptly. Attentative serving staff made our Brunch experience really great.
I will definitely recommend to friends and go back to celebrate another special occasion. Next time though I will request a table downstairs as the noise level upstairs made conversation a little difficult.
Overall though, a great dining experience. Great service and great food in a lovely setting!6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMFood is always outstandingFood is always outstanding - everything very fresh and seasonal. Service always wonderful!5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMI visit the Bay Area twiceI visit the Bay Area twice a year and lived there for many years before moving to Texas. I always ate there regularly and cannot return happy unless I go to the Buckeye with family and friends. The food is never disappointing and the wait staff is very good. I love going there.5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways buzzing and for good reason.Everytime we visit here, the place is always packed, even on a Tuesday evening in Marin.
We all enjoyed our dinner choices: petrale sole, duck, baby back ribs, squid fettucine, chicken wings, calamari. That covers a lot of variety and it was all prepared competently. In other words, the food was great!5/28/2013 12:00:00 AMStellar Experience!!First off, you MUST request Chick as your server. A more delightful person in this job does not exist. The food exquisite, the grace of the location and all of the staff is superior. The five of us enjoyed fabulous specialty drinks like the Raspberry Lemon Drop, The Moscow Mule, and something that I believe was called The Black Pearl...I don't see it on their drink menu right now. (But believe me, it was so good, I drank 2 of them!) We indulged in salads, - The Wedge and Dungeness Crab, Crispy Onion Rings (to die for), Barbequed Baby Back Ribs, Pork Chops, and more. A not to be missed experience, to be certain. Hats of to The Buckeye Roadhouse for a superior dinner out!5/28/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful FoodEverytime we come back here I always wonder why I don't eat here more often. The food is excellent.
I don't care for the dining room but a seat at the bar or the booth in the bar is wonderful.
Wonderful BBQ pork sandwich and the best liver and onions in Marin!5/27/2013 12:00:00 AMa real treat! The Buckeye Roadhouse is a treat for my family! None of us live in Marin, but we travel to the Buckeye Roadhouse. The level of food, service, ambience is always excellent! Oysters Bingo is a favorite! Energy level can be quite high, but the staff is helpful with quieter areas in the restaurant.5/27/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways a pleasure!Love the Buckeye Roadhouse....excellent food and service! Even when they are super busy, which was the case during my recent visit.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMAnother Outstanding DinnerLast visit I had the Smoked Beef Brisket...loved it!! This time I tried the duck and the oyster app., both had been recommended by a regular...both were OuTsTaNdInG!!!5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome EveningMy friend and I had one of the best meals we've had in ages last Saturday night. We shared the Ahi app, the smoked chicken salad and the Flat Iron Steak. Each dish was great. Top that off with a wonderful bottle of wine and we couldn't have been happier.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat JobGood food and good service. I liked the ribs, onion rings, and salmon. Particularly appreciate holding the restaurant open for our reservation following the full moon over the Golden Gate shoot Saturday night.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways and Great ExperienceI have been coming to the Buckeye for as long many many years, often for a special occassion or to just have a great dining experience with friends. We have always left with nothing but good things to say on the way home.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMexcellent food and exceptional servWe were 45 minutes early but seated courteously and immediately. Our shared appetizer - the onion rings - were excellent as were all four entrees. Desserts great too. Our waitress was outstanding -- quick, personable and charming. It is noisy but well worth it!5/22/2013 12:00:00 AMone of my favorite restaurants everthis is one of my favorite restaurants ever. i have been going to this place for about 20 years now. they have the best ribs, a great wine list, and a lovely and friendly atmosphere... what's not to like? when i am in the mood for this kind of food, there is no place better. maybe not a great place to eat daily as their menu would not lead to a very healthy lifestyle, but from time to time, what a great treat. check it out.5/22/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was delicious, but serviceFood was delicious, but service needs some tuning up.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMRelaxing brunchLove coming here for brunch. Service was excellent, brunch menu is inventive (though a bit more limited than in the past), food is really tasty.
Only thing that surprised me is how smoky the dining room is. Obviously there's a smoker right out back, but I didn't remember ever leaving the Buckeye reeking of smoked meat, as happened the other day. Had to send our clothes out to the dry cleaner's immediately. Maybe it's always been that way and I simply hadn't noticed, but I don't think so.
Otherwise a wonderful meal in a terrific setting.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMWaited too long to come backWent for a birthday dinner. Ordered the Brick Chicken and New York. Both were outstanding. Had to get the Oysters Bingo but felt they delicious but a bit small. Of course dessert had to be smores pie. OMG! Could have licked the plate. Expensive but worth it for this occasion. Waiter was attentive but not hovering.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMA great spot for diningWe met friends for lunch and loved being in a booth rather than a table. The food was delicious, even if priced a bit high for lunch. Our server was very good and left us alone with our coffee to have a good long visit. I would highly recommend The Buckeye for a special lunch. I've also enjoyed dinner there, and it's always been excellent.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMTraditional & ContemporaryIf you dine downstairs, feels like a cabin in the Sierras; upstairs feels like a cozy Bistro. Food quality is excellent - try that squid pasta for something special, and liver & onions (one of the few places that offers this dish). The baby-backed ribs are fabulous. Service is good, and while they let you stay there as long as you like, there is some pressure because the waiting line is obvious (hint: go early and reserve).5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMMarvelous ambiance, excellent foodThis is a great place to go for a special event, like my son's 33rd birthday. The diningroom is warm, rustic yet elegant. Have always loved this place. I knew my sons would love the diningroom, and the deep fried shoestring onions. They didi! We tried several of the cocktails, but next time, I would stick to my standard Bombay gin martini, because none of them were anything special. We tried the Italian Greyhound, and a cucumber gimlet. The wait staff was flawless. Attentive, helpful, but not too much so. All the food was excellent. The filet mignon was the most perfect entree. The pork chops were good sized and had a tasty crispy crust.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways goodI can't count how many years we have been coming to the Buckeye....it never disappoints!!!5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful Mother's Day BrunchWe asked to be seated in the outside patio - it was quiet except for the freeway hum - our waitress, Katy was superb - not only was she efficient but she exuded enthusiasm and warmth - she even loaned her dark glasses to my friend who had forgotten her pair. All in all a great time was had by the mothers!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful from start to finishIt's been about a year since I've been to the Buckeye Roadhouse and it's great to hear that they are still on top on their game. Service was perfect, food was absolutely delicious and it was a great dining experience.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMLove this restaurantWe have been going to this restaurant for very many years so knew why we chose it to meet our out-of-town friend ( who had a bit of a hard time finding it even though she knew where it was). Free friendly valet parking starts off the experience, we were seated promptly, service was delightful and accurately provided, and the food was delicious (as always). Never had a bad experience at the Buckeye Roadhouse, highly recommended.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMMy favorite restaurant in Marin! The Buckeye is my favorite restaurant in Marin.
I feel at home and pampered at the same time.
It is a wonderful special occasion restaurant for couples, families, work associates.
Come with an appetite. The food is amazing from starters through dessert!
My two particular favorites are the duck and the filet mignon and I highly recommend
their brussels sprouts. These are definitely not the brussels sprouts I used to avoid as a kid.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMDependably wonderful.Great menu, food well-prepared. Great service. Something for everyone.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways goodWe have been coming here for many years now and it never disappoints. The food is great and we like the "roadhouse atmosphere.
The onion strings are not to be missed! and they make a very good martini.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMalways a memorable experience..greaalways a memorable experience..great food properly presented5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMWhere the Elite Meet and EatThis is place for special ocassions or to bring someone special. The food is excellently prepared and presented. The wait staff is very attentive and makes your meal a memorable experience. The interior gives the feeling that you are in a German castle.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent Customer Service!I wrote a suggestion to the Buckeye Roadhouse manager and received an immediate and very gracious response from Peter Schumacher, the Owner! The Buckeye team obviously puts customer service first!5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMSpectacular- never disappoints!Spectacular- never disappoints! Exceptional-best in Marin! Service always great-whether one orders seafood steak or vegan, just the best!5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Food, ambient noiseGreat Food, ambient noise level was high due to a couple of very energetic Birthday parties, one with about 20 people.
I would go back, risotto was fab.5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMOutrageous Corkage FeeThe food and ambiance at the Buckeye is stellar, the corkage fee, however, is outrageous: $25 for the first bottle and then $40 for the second. I won't be doing that again.4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMUsually better - but still goodOrdered the crab salad - don't order this salad. It's a $3 - 1/2 can of metallic tasting crab on an average salad costing $22. Luckily we had a good waiter who saw that this was a terribly produced order and they let me order something else. I've had better food at the Roadhouse in the past. It was average this time - must be an off day4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat place all around!!We where just visiting the area and wanted to find something for my husbands 60th birthday-we saw this made reservations and where so glad we did. The food was great the service was excellant and even with the late notice and reservations they remembered I said it was his birthday and put a candle in his dessert and said happy birthday I would recommand this place for anyone passing through for a good dinner with a lot of class but not stuffy. Casual attire is excepted.4/15/2013 12:00:00 AMFood and service was greatFood and service was great after we were seated 30 minutes past our reservation. Reservation not on time and they ran out of items on the menu4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent evening overall.Excellent evening overall. The only problem was the wait for our booth which extended close to an hour past our reservation time. We were given an appetizer, gratis, for our patience. Otherwise, the food and service were very good.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMI'm never disappointed atI'm never disappointed at the Buckeye. Have been going there for years because it remains consistently good on all scores.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMHave always had great experiencesHave always had great experiences at Buckeye's. The food is great.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food and service at BuckeyeThe food and service at Buckeye are consistently good. I usually go for lunch, but this visit was Saturday brunch and it was very good.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMCould not say enough wonderfulCould not say enough wonderful thoughts about this restaurant. Enjoy!!!4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMHave been to the Buckeye severalHave been to the Buckeye several times. It never lets me down. Always start with the Oysters Bingo. The portions are generous. My friend and I split the Kale salad and the Chili lime chicken and we were both too satisfied to consider dessert.4/1/2013 12:00:00 AMEVERY TIME I GO TO THE BUCKEYE,EVERY TIME I GO TO THE BUCKEYE, I ALWAYS ORDER THE SMOKED CHICKEN SALAD AND LEMON CAKE PUDDING. BOTH ARE DELICIOUS AND SPECIAL TO THE RESTAURANT.4/1/2013 12:00:00 AMIt was Easter brunch at oneIt was Easter brunch at one of my favorites: the eggs were overcooked but the setting and everything else was perfect. Always an enjoyable treat and something to look forward to with anticipation!3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Buckeye Roadhouse isThe Buckeye Roadhouse is resting on it's laurels. The food was just okay, not great, especially for the price. Everything was over salted, the Ribs a bit dry and the sauce on the pulled pork sandwich was too sweet. I did like my Kale salad.
The atmosphere and wait staff were excellent.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AM
