Buca di Beppo - San DiegoMother's Day Lunch 2013as we sat down to eat, we thought of the dreaded Mother's Day 2012, where we were miserable at another establishment who had a pre-fixe menu of NADA. so we held our breaths until Erik brough the menus and we were happy campers to find the selection of food to be various. Between the group we had the lasagna, stuffed sheels and stuffed prosciutto chicken. Everything was great, from the host to the staff of the restaurant. The coolest part was being walked through the kitchen which the do with all their guests so we can see what is happening in the background. Erik was a great server. he kept the glasses filled and checked on us every chance he got. I was however disappointed that you no longer serve the olive oil with the chili in it. That had such a good flavor. We loved to put in on our pasta and the Margarita pizza. Their food is good, their service is good and if you don't get enough to eat, you're doing something wrong! Their food is served "family style" which translates to huge servings. It's a great place to go with a big group or for a family gathering. Order a salad, some garlic bread and a couple of entrees and you'll all get stuffed. We've visited Buca several times for family birthdays and the servers have always been very helpful with serving cake brought we brought with us. Also, everyone from the greeters to our server (sorry I cannot remember his name) were very kind and helpful. The food was amazing (as far as taste and presentation) and it was more than enough.
