"We had lots of fun sitting at the special "kitchen table" during our evening out in the Gaslight District. With the noise of the kitchen, my table of rowdy 11 year old skateboarders didn't make a dent. The staff was very friendly and fun, Chef Chris and Server Brock especially, and a treat to see the workings of this bustling, immaculate kitchen. BTW, the main dining area looked equally fun and I am looking forward to trying this ambiance on my next visit to the area. The lasagna was fantastic, lemon chicken as well. What I most enjoyed was the simple red sauce -- extremely fresh and bursting with flavor."

"Our waitress was awesome. She was spunky and enthusiastic! The food was very good. From the kitchen to table I think it was just what was expected.
I think my favorite part was being able to walk through the kitchen. Makes me feel coonfident that they're confident enough to do that! And that says a lot having worked in restaurants!!!"

"We had a reservation, but we were seated late. We could not have a pizza made that was split in half with different toppings on each half. I asked for a beer to be served when dinner arrived. Dinner took a LONG time. Never saw the beer until I asked for the check. Didn't have time to drink the beer, because dinner took an hour and a half. Pasta was really good."

"Honestly - It's the whole in the wall that true San Diegan's know off and though they have Buca's in other locations this place makes me feel at home. I am greeted by everyone. I can speak to the people next to me like no big deal and everyone there is like family. This place is bigger than it looks and it suprised me because im not a huge italian fan, im a bit picky but believe me i will be going back and back again for years to come!!"
