Buca di Beppo - Kansas CityBirthday dinnerWe reserved a table for 6 for a special birthday dinner experience for a Hong Kong native who loves Italian food. We were not disappointed with our choice (first time visitors). The staff was extremely accomodating, attentive, and personable. The manager stopped by the table and introduced himself, (did he know this was an Open Table reservation? Maybe, but it was a nice touch anyway.) The food was on the whole deliciously prepared and presented. The one thing my 15 year old son noticed was the chicken in the Pasta San Remo did not seem of the highest quality; it may have been a pressed product? The sauce was delicious so it didn't matter. HUGE portions, so order accordingly. We still have leftovers in the fridge two nights later. Ironically one of my credit cards had a gift card for Buca de Bepo!
We went Friday night, with reservations, were seated and greeted with enthusiasm and fun.
Our waiter Scott was friendly and helpful and we ordered several items that were to "die for"!
My wife is New York Long Island Italian and she was singing praises and enjoying every savory biteful!
The portions were large and we enjoyed them again for dinner last night and lunch today.
DEElicious and bountiful - Oh and the wine Caraffe was superb as well.

We were seated in a corner underneath a VERY loud heating/cooling vent. Each time the thing kicked on it made us jump. It was VERY loud and made it hard for us to hear each other. Our server went missing for some time and we had to flag down another server to help us. We had kids with us and they became very restless.

Everybody gets plenty of good comfort food in a somewhat festive environment. They seem to be chronically understaffed, but somehow pull it off without too much stress showing.
