Diner Reviews
  • "Awful service. Waiter was clueless. Food mediocre. Great space but never again."

  • "The food are location were fine. The only problem I had was that it was listed as a $$ cost restaurant, and it was really a $$$ cost restaurant."

  • "We met a friend here for dinner recently and chose to eat indoors. The service was good and the food was very nice. We really appreciated that we were not rushed. We were there just over 3 hours talking and catching up. No one made us feel uncomfortable. That was terrific. Prices are a little high but that goes with the location - which is perfect."

  • "I booked this reservation for a lunch meeting with my co-worker and we enjoyed the ambience, food and the service. I was a little bummed out that they only had an 11:30am reservation as I thought it was a tad bit early, however, it was PERFECT! The restaurant began to get crowded around 12:30 so it was great to have arrived early as the noise level increased as the time passed with more people seated in the dining room. We were seated promptly at a super cute table with a view of the park. The waitress was friendly, not overbearing and was able to suggest options off the menu and accommodated our needs. I would definitely recommend coming here and go for the duck spring rolls as they were excellent!!"

  • "Great location to enjoy a good meal for business or pleasure without feeling uncomfortable or distracted by unpleasant noise/settings!"

  • "This ivy covered building behind the library is lovely for lunch overlooking the park. I was early and the staff were lovely about it and seated me right away at a window table. Wide variety of yummy choices priced at typical NYC lunch prices. $17.95 for a cucumber and avocado sandwich sounds high ( and it's on the lower end price wise) but the cucumbers were spiced and the bread was deliciously grilled and there was an ample side salad. And there's. The view"

  • "Had a wonderful lunch with a friend. We like to sit and talk which our waiter allowed us to do. Our food was excellent as always.\ and so ws the service. We like going there and will go again because the food is always good and service is excellent"

  • "While booking my reservation on Open Table, I wrote that it was my friends' one year, and one week wedding anniversaries on that day. The entire brunch was wonderful, the view was beautiful and the waiter was courtious. At the end of the meal, after not mentioning anything else, he brought out two desserts with candles for the anniversaries. What a great way to top off a wonderful brunch!"

  • "The food was delicious but the service was below our expectations. First course was served (very slow) but the waiter offered us dessert not realizing the main course had not arrived. We were hoping to try a delicious dessert but didn't have time as we were catching a train. Disappointed but given the good food and lovely outside setting we would try again."

  • "We were lucky to come on the day of a USA soccer game because the restaurant wasn't crowded and noisy like usual. Will consider it again during a major sporting event."

  • "Rarely can you go wrong at the BPG. Iconic location. Amazing service (thanks Dina!) and delicious meals. The only downside was the uber rich chololate Creme brûlée desert. Just too much."

  • "Perfect place to meet a friend for lunch. The salads are delicious and beautifully presented. The service was friendly and attentive without being pushy. We sat and talked when we were finished and no one seemed to mind at all."

  • "I've been coming here for 15 years and it always a treat. Food is fantastic. And it's always fun people watching."

  • "This restaurant is attractive, great location and general ambiance, but the noise level is off the charts. I went there for a business mtg and I could not hear every third word. They need to invest in some ceiling baffles, carpeting, something....it's a real shame; I would not go back, too much of a struggle to enjoy conversation. Everyone has to yell to be heard. That just doesn't create a relaxed and enjoyable experience"

  • "the strongest thing about this restaurant is its location: it is perfect. I like the food, although not memorable.I always have 2 appetizers for lunch, they are really delicious (I recommend the lamb lollipops). Service is a bit arrogant. Nothing traumatic but there is room for improvement. Somewhat pricey. I think it well worth it but recommend checking menus and prices before going in."

  • "We had a very nice brunch here, outside on the patio, with a large group. Everyone was happy with the food and ambience, and it was quiet enough to have a conversation."

  • "If I would have had the courage, I would have left 0% tip- but still left 15%. the services was horible, rude and long. The plates were taking away when we still have the fork in our month, no water refill, we were offered the bills without being ask for dessert or coffee- which we wanted. We asked to wrap up the leftovers and they put the plate on top of it! and pack both plates in one bag when we were 2 friends (women)"

  • "we had an outstanding afternoon on father's day. we were a party of 11 with four small children. our server, renee, was outstanding, handling the disruptions and sudden requests with extreme calm and a lovely manner - quickly and efficiently. the food was fantastic. everyone just loved the occasion, my husband's birthday - with a special candle of course - and father's day combined. can't say enough good things about the day. cant can't wait to do another family function here. the restaurant seated us off to the side so we didn't disturb other patrons but felt free to enjoy our day together - something we don't get to do very often. thank you so much!"

  • "My family and I live in Nassau and the Bryant Park Grill is one of our go-to places in NYC. Great place to meet family and friends and take visitors. Brunch menu offers a variety of excellent dishes that can please any diner. I highly recommend outdoor seating with it's many big umbrellas. The park offers a terrific place to sit and people-watch"

  • "I booked a table for my friend and I a month before leaving the UK. We were very impressed by the look of the grill and were wonderfully surprised to have the lovely entertainment by the American Army. We were seated very quickly and served almost immediately. The atmosphere was very pleasant as were the waiting staff. The food was presented in a timely manner and was of excellent quality. We were particularly impressed by the calamari which were cooked to perfection, easily the best we had ever had. Our whole dining experience was a joy. Two hours of good food in a relaxing and beautiful setting. We couldn't have asked for more."

  • "This is a great place for outdoor dining. Located within Bryant Park, it offers a really nice scene with the park and building vista. The restaurant has several option to enjoy an outdoor meal or an after work drink, from a terrace on the second level of the building and a patio seating area at ground level. The service was good and the food was tasty."

  • "I enjoyed lunch at the Bryant Park Grill. The food was very good. The restaurant is light and open and it's enjoyable to look out at the park. A special spot in a busy city. Our waitress was very sweet and attentive. My guest was from out of town and I felt it gave her a memorable experience and a nice way for her to see the city."

  • "We went to Bryant Park Grill after missing out on an opportunity to eat there a few years ago on a trip to NYC - so there was some expectation, and we really enjoyed it. There's a lot of atmosphere, some people coming and going, and others sticking around for a longer meal - lots of energy. The food and the staff were great, and it was close enough to enjoy a long meal before walking to the theatre. Hit it up, you won't regret it."

  • "This is one of my favorite restaurants in mid-town. The food is wonderful, and the Bryant Park setting could not be nicer, especially in the summer. I often bring out of town clients here, because it just so nice. "

  • "I really enjoy the Bryant Park Grill. I've been coming here for years and I am never disappointed. The ambiance is nice, whether you are seated inside or outside, and the menu has options for everyone. I came for lunch and dinner last week and both were delicious. It is a little bit on the more expensive side, but you're in a trendy hot spot - right near the library and seated overlooking the park, so it's to be expected. Great for a special occasion or an after work drink, especially on a nice spring day."

  • "Bryant Park is just a beautiful spot to visit, (especially for sunny lunch or early dinner), and the Grill delivers a solid, enjoyable meal! It's also close to Broadway, Grand Central, Port Authority and Penn Station, so suburban friends may easily join!!!!"
