Diner Reviews
  • "Food excellent, wait service ok---too matter of fact, doing it to get a job done. Although I did get a nice little birthday candle in my dessert. Noise level was the loudest I've ever experienced it. "

  • "Bryant Park is a favorite go-to for brunch or lunch with out of town friends. It's centrally located, not outrageously priced for midtown, and Bryant Park and the New York Public Library make lovely backdrops. Food is good, though nothing spectacular. The service, however, leaves a bit to be desired. But the location makes up for it -- especially on a balmy spring day."

  • "Tucked in a lovely corner of Bryant Park, this gem offers outdoor dining, great dining and views. Would highly recommend!!"

  • "Great ambiance! Beautiful Setting and Restaurant! Service was slow but the food was above average. Best thing about this place is the location and setting! Must do once!"
    Dined on 4/13/2014
  • "The Bryant Park Grill could not be located in a more gorgeous part of New York City....however the service was awful, the food worse and when we asked our waiter if a particular bottle of white wine was dry he responded with "I have no idea and I doubt whether anyone in the back could tell you anything either...do you have one of those phone aps?" The salad was soggy, the menu is all over the map and none of the 4 of us bothered to finish our respective meals ...We couldn't believe it...So if you must go there have drinks on the patio then find somewhere else for dinner."
    Dined on 4/13/2014
  • "The only thing that made this any less than perfect was the car alarm that kept going off, but that is NYC for you, haha."

  • "So convenient to Broadway. We dined after a matinee on a Sat. Lovely setting."

  • "Always love coming to Bryant Park Grill. Bryant Park is always buzzing with something different going on in every season. The restaurant has a great staff and wonderful food that is not outrageously priced."

  • "Food = average Service = slightly below average Ambience = slightly above average Overall = average at best in NYC"

  • "I had dinner with two "old" high school friends., Yes old, we graduated 52 years ago!! My risotto was delish!! We arrived at 5:00 . Restaurant was quiet but got noisier by the time we left. Being Bryant Park is so very special."
    Dined on 4/12/2014
  • "The food was ok. Nothing special as you would hope from the location. We barely saw our waiter and he was not very kind. We were there almost 1 1/2 hours longer than we should have been because of slow service. Waiter became more and more curt with us as the night went on."
    Dined on 4/12/2014
  • "I took our team out for a celebratory lunch at 12:30pm and perhaps it was due to it being the first nice day of the season, the restaurant was severely understaffed. We had random servers stop by only when we asked to be waited on, a table of two that had sat 45 minutes after us got their food immediately, and it took half an hour for our order to be taken and again, only when we approached the hostess to let her know we had not even been asked for a drink order. The last few times I have come by here, the service has been subpar at best. The food isn't terrible, but it's nothing to write home about."

  • "My wife and I had our wedding night meal here at Bryant Park Grill. The place has great atmosphere. The food was excellent. The staff were excellent. Best meal of our trip."

  • "Food and service were great. Restaurant got noisy once it was full, so conversation in a group was difficult."

  • "After 30 years we reunited with college friends. It was a perfect evening-food was delicious, great wine list (not too expensive) and the service was outstanding. It's a great venue for just about any occasion."

  • "I enjoyed lunch with a friend here. He secretly had this place on his wish list to dine and so I felt good about my choice. I already knew what I wanted to order and ultimately thought the crab cake was okay. I wasn't expecting those flavors, kind of Asian inspired and so was the sauce. I loved the fries and the banana dessert. I would definitely go back again. The waiter was really attentive. I did wish he would hang back some but it's better than us needing him and not getting him. The decor was what drew me in and it was just beautiful even on a rainy day."

  • "This was a great dining experience. The food was delicious and the decor was amazing. Only small complaint is that it was very noisy; so much so that it was hard to hear the people sitting directly across from you. Otherwise it was a perfect dining experience!"

  • "Great for after work dinner and beverages. Lively crowd with interesting people. Enjoyed our meal . Service was great."

  • "I was very disappointed with the salmon entree I ordered."

  • "Glass walls that overlook the eponymous park make the Bryant Park Grill one of the most beautiful restaurants in Manhattan. The food is good, if less transporting than the view, while the friendly service is adroit and indulgent. All in all, the restaurant is a thorough delight."

  • "We were seated immediately on a busy Sunday. Our waiter was terrific and the overall ambience is classy, if a bit noisy. The menu is huge and two of us picked from the special brunch menu, while the third ordered off the regular menu. I thought my entree was fussy--lots of seasoning, garnishes and hi-style presentation. I wasn't crazy about my food but it was fine. My two dining companions were happy with what they got."

  • "I liked the food and it was nice to have a view of Bryant Park (if you are on the right side of the table). However, I find their cafe menu to be a little better and sitting outside is always a plus. It's only open in the summer, however."

  • "Go to place for business lunches. Service extremely attentive and top notch. Beautiful outdoor dining as well when in season."

  • "We had not eaten there for several years because food was average, expensive and very noisy. This experience was much better 'with respect to food and noise. It is still to expensive for regular dining, which is too bad because we live so close.)"

  • "Food was good, service and ambiance was excellent. My daughter hates breakfast and even she ate everything, surprised us both. Gorgeous views of Bryant Park. Will definitely return.."

  • "Everything about the Bryant Park Grill was first class. We had a table overlooking the park, too bad it was raining. The service was great and the food was fabulous. We had the duck and the risotto. I would recommend to anyone."

  • "Going to Bryant park now especially with all the pansies and having lunch at the Bryant Park grill is a wonderful experience...I usually go to Saturday matinees once a month and always make reservation at Bryant Park Grill because of its consistency--great window view --waiters are exceptional and the food is superb!!! A great stop from a long busy week and quite enjoyable from all aspects!!"

  • "Beautiful view of the trees and the park while enjoying great company and good food."

  • "Nice spot overlooking Bryant Park. Service was ok. Baked persimmon app good. Glass of cab awful. Pork chops meh. Too many other good restaurants around."

  • "We had a lunch for 5 people and at the last minute a 6th diner showed up. The hostess was very cool and simply asked the wait staff to set another place. BPG is in a great location and is extremely popular at lunchtime. The ambiance level is deafening such that we could hardly hear each other. However, by 2:00, many diners had left and we were able to relax and enjoy each other and the view of Bryant Park out the window. The servers were very attentive and friendly. Most of the food here is "meh" but is served in large portions so you feel like you got plenty even if it is unremarkable. This is a great stable dining choice."

  • "Midtown is not my favorite place to have to eat out but Bryant Park Grill is a notable exception. The food was delicious and I had a hard time deciding on what to pick (which is a feat since I'm a vegetarian). My lunch guest is a chef and she was pleased as well. Recommended! If you know you're going in advance, it might be wise to make a reservation."

  • "This was a very leas ant experience on a Sunday afternoon. Enjoyed brunch before a Sunday matinee."
    Dined on 3/23/2014
  • "I found it to be overpriced and not to standard for the cost. Much better meals are available for the same cost at other midtown restaurants. This venue might provide nicer ambiance in the spring when you can sit outside."
    Dined on 3/22/2014
  • "$20-30 for lunch. The service is not bad but not good...food was good enough. This place is more like ambience. Casual but fashionable near by park. It's OK maybe once but I won't go again. There are much better places in Manhattan."

  • "Excellent experience. Beautiful ambiance. NYC gem."

  • "We visited this restaurant 3 years ago in the summer - and we wanted to celebrate another trip to New York and visit the restaurant again. I informed them at the time of making the reservation that it was a special occasion - 3 significant birthdays... There was no acknowledgement or mention of that request at any time. We told our waiter, and he brought a special dessert, which was nice. Everything was....good. Not great, just good."
