A word from Bryant & Cooper Steakhouse
Bryant & Cooper opened in 1986 with big ambitions: to bring the top tier New York City "steak house experience" to Long Island. Not only would the very finest quality, hand picked prime aged steaks be served, but an ambiance would be created that makes everyone feel like they are part of a special private club. For membership...just make a reservation.

Founded by the three Poll brothers with two generations of restaurant ownership experience, Gillis, Dean and George learned at an early age that the secret of a great restaurant was to start with serving the very best.

That is why the steaks, chops and jumbo lobsters are selected on a daily basis, and only the freshest side dishes find their way to a plate served at Bryant & Cooper.

Over the years Bryant & Cooper has received superlative reviews for its entire menu. The New York Times has proclaimed it the "best steak house on Long Island."

  • "Food was excellent. Great people watching. Bar was hopping with several people eating dinner at the bar. Mixed families, business and guys night out."

  • "Bryant and Cooper is definitely an upscale experience. The service is impeccable, and everything about it evokes classic steakhouse. The food is delicious, the selection is great, and I would highly recommend this establishment to anyone seeking a high-class restaurant. The attention alone from the staff is worth it. You don't even have to ask for something, they are so on top of it! Thank you B&C!"

  • "Excellent food as usual. Noisy and service could have been better"

It's a family favorite!!"

  • "The food was excellent. The environment was not my type though. Extremely noisy with the tables very close together and everyone screaming very loudly.. kind of gave me a slight headache.. But hey, some people like that atmosphere. Not me though,"
    Dined on 7/26/2014
  • "Disappointing - perhaps we ordered the wrong things, but it seems the chopped sirloin & their special salad should have some flavor. Even the French Fries were tasteless."

  • "We have visited this restaurant many times over the years but on this evening we had an horrendous experience. It was a Wednesday night and we were seated 25 minutes after our reservation. We ordered drinks and I was brought the wrong cocktail. I know I ordered a branded vodka and was given an inferior quality. The headache I had the following morning was a confirmation of this fact. Neither waiter or anybody in the restaurant was able to help us with a wine selection. One waiter was very apologetic and it appeared as though the other did not care. The food was fair but the noise level was beyond that of the cheers expressed at my the audience at the Super Bowl. Happy birthday to me :-("

  • "We were seated right away. The tables are so close to each other that you can have conversations with people on both sides. To get out we had to pull the table out. The food is very good."

  • "As usual everything was going perfect, except for my filet mignon. We were still eating our salads when the steaks were served. We told them we needed 5 more minutes. 2 minutes after the food was served, they asked if everything was ok. I hadn't gotten to the meat yet so we said it was. After 2 slices it turned out not to be medium rare. It was extremely charred and the inside was very dry with no pink in the middle. Unfortunately they never came back to ask otherwise I would have returned it. As always, the place it was packed and very busy. Note to self, check meat immediately otherwise it may just be too late. I ended up taking the charred steak to my dog who seemed to enjoy it very much."

  • "Big fan of all the Pohl restaurants and come here often. First time we had an issue with a meal. The order had to be sent back twice, and the diner was reluctant to do so, however the waiter noticed the issue. The service/staff were very kind and attentive. My dish, which i order the same thing every time (veal francese) was very chewy. A bit of a disappointing evening, but we will be back."

  • "Been here several times, it is always consistant-its delicious experience everytime. But, it is stupid loud in there. Very difficult to converse with people at your own table-its that loud. After 15 minutes or so you adjust or maybe its the cocktail that takes off the edge of a screaming room. I love it here though. One of my favorites."

  • "Too crowded and loud. Poor service. Could hear neighboring tables conversations."

  • "Party of 6, we had both sizes of the filet mignon, the prime rib, ribeye, and chicken. All delicious, really outstanding. But I must also mention the incredible staff: perfect combo of professional and fun, solicitous, made great recommendations, and made our 89 yr old dad feel like a king. Can't wait to go back. Yum!"

  • "Very satisfied with ease of making the reservation. Table was ready right on time although it was a busy evening. Service was extremely good with someone always around our table to ensure we were completely satisfied. Medium rare steaks were done perfectly. Appitizerr seafood platter was outstanding. I note hesitate going here again. Very delightful evening."

  • "I went with a group of friends and we all agreed that while it was good, for $50 a steak and $16 a drink..it should have been much better."

  • "Had dinner at Bryant and Cooper with my husband and two sons, aged 20 and 15, for my husband's birthday. Great dinner - steaks, sides, and appetizers were delicious. The only reason I didn't rate 5 stars was the high price."

  • "It's been a while since I've been to B&C, and in that time, it went from great to bad. We wiated 10 minutes for a wiater to acknowledge us, my lobster appetizer was very chewy, and my $55.00 Colorado RibEye was very tough and grizzly. I was extremely disappointed with this."
    Dined on 6/21/2014
  • "The filet mignon is delicious! It's a great restaurant for special occasions. The prices are comparable to other restaurants."
    Dined on 6/14/2014
  • "The food is great and the cocktails are really good. You can tell that they're not skimping on the alcohol. Service is very good that even my daughter noticed it and made a nice complement."

  • "If you're looking for a great steak this is the place to go! But if you want something romantic, this is definitely not it. It is very loud and I could barely make out what my boyfriend was saying and it was just the 2 of us at the table. It is pricy so be prepared for the check."
    Dined on 6/6/2014
  • "Most of the reviews are on spot for this. Went there for my boyfriend's birthday and the food is good, not amazing but good. We got the porterhouse for 2 as an entree, it didn't melt in my mouth. The crab cakes for an appetizer and a little better. We had the creme brulee and apple strudel for dessert, both were average. The apple could have been baked longer. Many people around us complained about the seating arrangements because it was tight. Tables are inches apart. This didn't really bother us as much. The service was fast and friendly. We were seated right away after arriving at 730 for our reservation at 8. Overall, it is a bit pricey for the food but all steak houses are."

  • "This place is wonderful. We went there to celebrate our 10th Anniversay. They gave us a great corner table for just the two of us. Our meal was totally fabulous and the service was just as nice. it never seems to amaze me at how busy this place is. but the moment we dine there we remember why it's always so busy. the food is awesome. the environment is lively yet subdued, and the people are wonderful... it's a great place to go. "

  • "If you want a calm, relaxing dinner - do not go here. The service is rushed - food is rushed - coffee too, because they have to get ready for the next table. It is extremely loud and close tables do not help. You are on top of the next table and almost feel that you are dining with them."

  • "First time diners for a special birthday celebration. Exterior is unimpressive and small from the street and parking lot. Interior offered us a gracious and friendly greeting and wait staff well versed with a long list of specials. We sampled the specials from fish to steaks, soups and sides. The Cajun Ribeye was huge and tasty exuding great flavor and cooked to order. Filets were enjoyed though more basic in taste. The Snapper plate received a great review. The sides were bountiful though basic with the main entree being the focus. Staff were attentive and portions plentiful. While prices are moderate plus we believe the value is there compared to Peter Luger's and other local steak houses. A place we will likely visit again."

  • "Steak (Colorado Rib Steak) was very bland and cooked unevenly. Popularity of this restaurant must be tied to the tremendous portion size. Hash brown potatoes are the one thing worth returning for."

  • "An ok steak house in a cramped room. A good quality location but generally vey noisy. The food was very good. But not the best steakhouse . Service was very good and the wait staff was very attentive"

  • "Bryant and Cooper, I had remembered as having good food, ambiance and service. The service is still there, very old time professional, but I thought the ambiance and food were boring especially for the high price."

  • "Bryant and Cooper was the choice by my father for my birthday dinner this year and I am happy with his pick. I had an excellent rack of lamb served with mint jelly, which is a personal favorite! I also ate with my sister, boyfriend and sister who all had delicious steaks! Respectively they had the petite filet mignon, the sirloin, and the porterhouse each had a different flavor but was delicious in their own way. I would highly recommend this restaurant. The server was prompt and refilled drinks when necessary. We also had two sides: the hash browns and the creamed spinach which were both delicious!"

  • "While waiting at the bar I for my table I ordered Riesling and the bartender said he did not have yet it was on the wine list, i would have ordered a bottle, a loss sale for the house. Now on to the reason why I chose Bryant & Cooper the selection of steak. My husband and I both opted for individual filets this evening, the meat was cooked to our liking however the meat was chewy and fatty both of ours and we had it cooked differently so it was definitely the quality of the meat not the cooking process. We were both really let down by the food and service. I love steak and frequent high end steakhouses regularly, I will not be recommending or going back to Bryant & Cooper anytime soon and this is unfortunate because I do live close by."

  • "The old world ambiance, delicious high quality meals and classy waiters all a flutter at your service creates this consistent, decadent dining experience...yummmm!!!!!"

  • "This was mine and my husbands first time here. What an eye opener. So many regulars everyone seemed to know each other. You could tell these people eat here a lot. They all must be really rich. The place is very causal almost like a fancy diner. Our cajun rib steak was delicious. The home fries not so much, very bland. The cream spinach was very good. The prices were ridiculous. The people who go there don't seem to mind, so good for them. I would save this place for special occasions because I value my money to much."
    Dined on 3/7/2014
  • "While the service was attentive, the food was disappointing. We've seen the quality of the steaks really go downhill. Our ribeye was full of gristle and for $53 it should have been better than that. Our bad--we probably should have sent it back. The fried combo (onion strings and potato crisps) was OK--the hollandaise for the broccoli and the broccoli was cold. Highlight was the creamed spinach. Apple strudel apples were hard and not cooked enough. I think this was the last time we'll go to Bryant and Cooper."
