Great food, namely the Steak Tartar. Pub style restaurant with small dining room and closely placed tables. Several birthdays were celebrated while we were there. Friendly, courteous staff all around. Inexpensive place to eat.

We were looking forward to a local Belgian restaurant but were sadly disappointed. The pea soup was Ok and a green bean salad was excellent. The duck had an odd aftertaste, bad enough to only eat half. The server never checked back to see how things were, not until a dessert menu was offered, way too late. The lamb shank wasn't bad but really just a glorified lamb stew with a higher price tag. The beer was outstanding, delicious on tap. The wine list was mediocre. OT doesn't give the option of too noisy calling it energetic, but it was just plain noisy and without a culinary payoff.

This bistro is a gem in the middle of Laguna Beach. We met some wonderful folks who agreed with us - both newcomers like us and those who had been going there for some time. Food was good. Well prepared and presented. The wait staff was delightful as well. Particularly when it came to choosing a beer!

This place captures what ppl say about Laguna: relatively high prices and worse food than surrounding areas. Fries are good, and the dishes that my companions had were fine, that's it. I had a grilled veggie salad and it was pitiful. Cheese plate was lame in terms of both portion size and accoutrements (compare to Sidedoor in CDM...way better for the $). A salad isn't the best way to judge a restaurant, but places of this level shouldn't put up food they aren't proud of. Our total for 2 was $175 w tip; While we drank some beers, we did not go overboard. For reference, we just went to LudoBites 8.0, ordered a ton of amazing, seafood-heavy dishes, as well as expensive truffle eggs, and spent less. Service was nice, but wouldn't go back

I have been to Brussels Bistro for over 3 years, the staff is a mix of both American and French. They answer positively to any requests one may have. I think the food quality is very consistent, if you choose the mussels however, I believe it depends of what they get delivered.
