- wonderful cozy restaurantmel2VIPDined on 11/15/2014We had such a great time at the restaurant. The atmosphere is lovely and the food was interesting and great...except for the hamburger. It arrived sitting in a bed of juice so that the bun was totally soggy. The whole thing fell apart when I tried to eat it. They should pay attention to this problem. All the other food was delicious.Special Features:I would recommend this to a friend.
- "I can't hear you!"RSRSVIPDined on 11/14/2014Excellent décor and food. Everything just fine except the noise. This was a Friday night, and I might try B & H on a weeknight, but my evening with two friends was definitely marred by the deafening noise level. Not that B & H is unique. I'm finding it more and more difficult to find restaurants where the noise level is moderate. This is very frustrating, as one of my main pleasures in life is to dine out with friends. Some places have enclaves that are less noisy, but I didn't see any place in B&H where we could have escaped the din.Special Features:I would recommend this to a friend.
- Neighborhood ClassNeighborDined on 11/14/2014Great new place close in but not in the frantic part of Ballard. Good enough for foodies, parents, or the client you'd like to impress. Great wine, but my only disappointment was the dinky martini glasses. Just visually, this place calls for martini glasses as elegant as their wine stems. So, the wine you feel you are getting your money's worth, the martini is a throwback to the mid century 'cocktail' and at the same cost as a comparable 6 oz pour you get elsewhere. So, nuf said about that! The Frites will have everyone stealing from your plate, and the rotating salads are elegant and tasty!Special Features:I would recommend this to a friend.
- A new find!FuzzbieDined on 11/9/2014We are pleased to add Brunswick and Hunt to our list of favorites. Don't be fooled by the unassuming exterior and odd location. Once inside, the atmosphere is welcoming, with a cozy pub-like feeling. The seasonal, local food is upscale, with many interesting and creative choices on the menu. We'll be back!Special Features:I would recommend this to a friend.
- Welcome to the NeighborhoodTWolfeDined on 11/8/2014This place is comfortable, cozy and has really top notch food. Also, it is within walking distance - no crazy Seattle traffic and Ballard parking nightmares. The owner and staff are inviting. I love this place!Special Features:
- Great FindOutandaboutDined on 11/1/2014We took a friend for her birthday and it was perfect for what she likes: variety of shared plates, yummy desserts. The pork shank was off the hook and enough to feed two with some sides (she ordered the corn bread skillet....twice!). The ambience was lovely and the service was warm and friendly. This is a good place to drop in for a casual dinner or for a special occasion. Even sitting at the bar would be nice (check out the fabulous wood bar mantel). We shall return!Special Features:I would recommend this to a friend.
- Delicious DinnerAnitaDined on 10/26/2014We had a fabulous dinner and a great conversation with the owner. I would highly recommend this restaurant to all our friends!! I had the duck, my husband had the sausage and cabbage and my Mother ordered the pork shoulder. Combined with very good wine and topped off with a yummy dessert we left feeling very satisfied and ready to return.Special Features:
- Rich and SatisfyingLoloEatsDined on 10/24/2014Come hungry and leave with a full belly. The food is rich and luscious, and the cocktails are out of this world. The staff was wonderfully attentive and enthusiastic about the food. They seemed genuinely excited for us to have a good experience. Highly recommend.Special Features:I would recommend this to a friend.
- Gorgeous old wood bar; yummy food!yummyinthetummyDined on 10/18/2014This restaurant is stunningly elegant, yet laid-back. The ornate bar, the gorgeous dark green seating, the spotless subway-tiled open kitchen, all combine to put the customer instantly at ease. And even if the atmosphere didn't instantly relax you, the incredible staff will! We were greeted at the door by the owner, Barry, who was so friendly and personable. Our waitress was also delightful. The food was delicious. We started with the cheese plate, tasty but nothing too noteworthy. Next my husband ordered the fried chicken, which is worth the trip to the restaurant. I had the juicy bison burger. We couldn't decide which entrée was better. Highly recommend both dishes! Great for dates, or fancy dinner with friends!Special Features:

- I expected betterluvinheartDined on 10/11/2014Our group had the heirloom tomato with anchovies and smoked duck for appetizers. We also had the curried mussels and the oxtail with fresh pasta. The smoked duck was good and it was complementary with a neighborhood coupon. The heirloom tomatoes were not ripe and there was scant anchovies. The mussels could have been cooked a minute longer as they were a bit too slimy. Lastly, the oxtail was very good, but not quite up to the quality I expected. It is very close to our house, so we will give it another try.Special Features:
- Great PlaceFishGuyDined on 10/10/2014Good food, fun atmosphere and fantastic service. Its a great neighbohood spot. We'll be back.Special Features:I would recommend this to a friend.
- Soon to be our neighborhood hauntkuccoriDined on 10/9/2014Brunswick & Hunt just opened a few months ago, so after a busy summer, this was our first opportunity to try it out. We loved everything about it... the beautiful bar and restaurant interior, the delicious food, and the attentive service were all deserving of great praise. We are very pleased that this restaurant is only a 10-minute walk away because we will certainly be back to try new dishes. Even better, the restaurant boasts a reasonable price point - we enjoyed two drinks, two entrees, a shared small plate and a shared dessert - plus a healthy tip...cost $100. Be sure to try out this new neighborhood gem!Special Features:
- Cfc3Dined on 10/9/2014I have not sent food back to the kitchen before, but my meal was so salty that it was Inedible. The wait staff was extremely apologetic and handled it appropriately, but the food is priced highly enough for expectations to be high as well. They did not deliver and I will not be back.
- Nice surprise in BallardppardiDined on 10/3/2014We had the fried chicken and pork shank and both were phenomenal. But the real standout was the frites. When they came out, they looked like a simple pile of french fries. But one bite in and you learn you have some special. Great place, great service, and amazing food!Special Features:I would recommend this to a friend.
- Outstanding food!GDO1Dined on 10/1/2014This was our first visit to this restaurant and we were not disappointed. The food was GREAT!! Try the pork shank if it's still on the menu. Unbelievable!! The menu changes frequently so we will have to go back soon to see if they can top our visit. Our only criticism is we thought the music was too loud.Special Features:I would recommend this to a friend.
- Great neighborhood spotsoapstoneDined on 9/28/2014Ballard moving north is great for the Crown Hill neighborhood. This is a fine addition to the already great line up on 70th. The food, service and decor of this small restaurant are fabulous. Struck by the mixed reviews of the fried chicken, I had to order it. The problem is that the chicken is cooked sous vide before frying. The result is delicious, silky smooth and unusual by ordinary chicken cooking standards - its delicious, but not standard stringy chicken. Pork shank was a hit at our table. As was the duck confit. Great roasted carrots. Dessert - an apple crisp and a "cottage cake" with roasted pear were terrific. We will be back.Special Features:
- Great neighborhood spotgro1Dined on 9/18/2014We had reservations for 5. They had set up a special table for us. The service was professional and friendly. The food was excellent and all five thought the food was great. Two of us had the chicken and we agreed it was the best in town. We will certainly return for more meals and I heartily recommend Brunswick & Hunt.Special Features:
- Friendly PlaceFoodie13VIPDined on 9/13/2014I don't recall dining at an establishment where every person who came by our table made us feel welcomed. We ordered a steak and a halibut dish. Both were prepared perfectly and the appropriate amount served. Dessert is a must so save room!Special Features:I would recommend this to a friend.
- Delightful in every wayAlikelseaDined on 9/12/2014From the warm getting we received at the door to dessert and cognac, the experience was wonderful. The steakwas perfect, tender and cooked as ordered. The vegetable sides were excellent. I will recommend to all my friends.Special Features:I would recommend this to a friend.
- RosemaryDined on 9/10/2014Although the staff was gracious and quickly replaced our "blood red, underdone" chicken, it was upsetting to view the underdone entre! We did not paticularly like the honey coating on the chicken either The frites were deicious on the appetizer menu. We are unsure if we would ever return.Special Features:
- 2con2Dined on 9/10/2014The Fried Chicken was very undercooked,The Pate was only passable/blandSpecial Features:
- Comfort food as delicacyDKinSFDined on 9/6/2014Great experience. The food (I had fries with 2 dips to start, the pork cheeks, and the greens salad) were all satisfying in that confirm food way, but had such subtly of flavored I was compelled to savor every bite. My pre-dinner cocktail was perfectly balanced, and the server did an excellent job of pairing my meal with a Washington red. Entire staff was genuinely warm, welcoming, professional, and knowledgeable. I'm glad we came!Special Features:I would recommend this to a friend.
- Mixed BagsuzellaVIPDined on 8/21/2014Charming neighborhood find. Excellent service. But...dining choices were fairly limited and overpriced and small portions for a neighborhood restaurant.Special Features:
- Great food, service and ambianceFood5CriticVIPDined on 8/20/2014What a great neighborhood bistro! The ambiance is great - beautiful artwork, comfortable seating. The service is friendly and prompt. The wine is good. The salmon was so fresh and served with a beautiful mushroom. Keep up the good work!!
- Brunswick & HuntDonnaVIPDined on 8/16/2014Very nice new restaurant. The decor was beautiful and waiter was able to answer questions about the bar and paintings that are over 100 years old. The food was outstanding. For being open a very short time, they had it together very nicely. They provide a bar where you can eat and watch the chefs prepare your food which we would like to do next time. I love the beet salad that is prepared in an individual cast iron dish heated with blue cheese crumbles and roasted cashews. Yum! Parking is a bit of a challenge but that was to be expected in a neighborhood restaurant. We will definitely return.Special Features:
- Not fried chickenCharlieDined on 8/16/2014I ordered the fried chicken. Whe it was served it looked beautiful. Unfortunately it was not so on the inside. If you brine AND sous vide chicken the texture gets very mushy and gross as does the skin and the coating cannot stay on the meat. The texture was off putting and I could not get past how red it was as well. The presentation was also bad because they stacked up 2 huge pieces and hid the sides underneath. I had to get an extra plate to move 1 piece off so I could actually eat the sides. The sides were ok. I went home hungry. The service was amazing and the staff was great. Too bad the food did not match.
- Crown Hill GemfoodisfunDined on 8/13/2014Tucked away on Crown Hill's hottest street, home to Honore, Delancey, Fat Hen and Essex; Brunswick and Hunt is knocking it out of the park. Centered around a restored Brunswick Bar the restaurant hits the spot for meeting friends, late night dinners, a quick snack or that always challenging, "where should I go alone" question! Once you've been seated, start with any of the Penn Cove items...you won't be disappointed. Add to that a delicious beet carpaccio and the fingerling pomme frittes and you are practically there! For dinner, the scallops are a home run....and the filet is scrumptious! The wine list is just right...let the staff choose! I will definitely be making Brunswick a reqular stop and can't wait to finally have room for dessert!Special Features:I would recommend this to a friend.
- wonderful find!OpenTable Diner Since 2011Dined on 7/25/2014The steak and brussels sprouts were delicious! The service was amazing. This is a great neighborhood find!Special Features:
