  • "carefully crafted with a deft touch. Just enough. Loved the fennel. Great mix of grill flavours counterpointed by the delicacy of fresh seasonal veg."

  • "Our friend Steph Dunn happened to be playing there one Friday night in June. My husband and I decided to check out the lunch menu that day and have been back several times! I actually came on my own that Friday night to listen to Steph play and felt very comfortable on the "couch"! A great venue for some intimate listening and tasty food and drink. We have celebrated a birthday dinner and a romantic dinner upstairs where the service is wonderful and the food equally so. You'll love it at Bruce Wine Bar. You wont be disappointed and you'll want to return as soon as you feel hungry again!!"

  • "The menu is limited, liked the old menu. There is a TV in the area we wee sitting, very distracting and now necessary, this is not advertised as a sports bar. Will not be back for a while"

  • "We really enjoyed our dinner here. There was a power outage just before we arrived but the staff were able to continue the wood fire pizza oven despite the lack of a/c! Great pizza (kids loved the cheese one) & delicious salads."

  • "We had a lovely time at Bruce wine bar. The staff was very accommodating. Since it was a Friday night, there was live music, which was excellent, however the dining room was excessively noisy which did affect our overall experience"

  • "We were really impressed with the interior. Very comfortable. Service was great. Timing to come and see if something was needed was great. Not too often but often enough that you did not need to call for assistance or be continually interrupted while in a conversation. Started with a Caesar salad which was shared. It was very good with fresh sliced cheese on it. Both our meals arrived in a timely matter. Neither one of us care much for drinking but I had a glass of wine and my husband had a rye. It just seemed the thing to have. Over all it was a great experience. Unfortunately. for us the cost of the meal is a little more than our budget allows. Although we will return for special occasions. Its just too good not to come back.!"

  • "The BWB has become a regular stop whenever we're in Thornbury. The menu changes with the season, so never gets tired. And even if we miss a few favourites from previous menus, there's always something outstanding to make up for it. The food and the service here are about as good as it gets. Do your tongue a favour..."

  • "I have had lunch at Bruce's Wine Bar before and have been happy with my meals. Last time I ordered the tuna tartar. It really is an incomplete dish. It needs some side or salad to call it a lunch. Serving just the raw fish in cone shaped wontons does not do it."

  • "I have been to the Bruce Wine Bar for both lunch and dinner. The lunch special was delicious and so imaginative. Dinner was wonderful - delicious venison, beautifully prepared and presented. So much of the food is locally sourced which only adds to its freshness and wonderful flavor!"

  • "The Bruce Wine Bar can always be relied on to provide a great dining experience. The staff is friendly and helpful and the food is excellent whether you're looking for a light meal, great pizza or something more substantial. The menu has lots of original options, plus tried and true favourites. Highly recommended."

  • "Bruce Wine Bar & Restaurant has become our favourite eatery in the Blue Mountain area. It was our daughter's birthday and we were offered Proseco to celebrate. The food never disappoints and the brick oven pizza with its designer choices are the best your taste buds will savour . Ambiance is great and so is the service."

  • "I have eaten at Bruce Wine Bar many times as it has consistently delicious food. Their menu is not huge but everything they serve uses high quality ingredients that are well executed. They serve pizzas cooked in wood burning oven. The atmosphere is very cozy and the serving staff is always very friendly and engaging. It is my favourite restaurant in Thornbury. "

  • "My husband and I were seated at the communal table. Always a fun and friendly vibe. We usually order salads and pizza, as their pizzas are all amazing, but this time we decided to order their evening features. My husband ordered the venison chops which he thoroughly enjoyed, and looked amazing. I had the striped bass, which was presented wonderfully and done perfectly. The evening was great! Highly recommend Bruce wine bar!"

  • "My husband and I have been to Bruce Wine Bar 6 times now since "finding it" last winter. We are only in Thornbury for ski season (9 weekends) so our availability is limited. We have been with our two teenagers, with multiple couples, and just by ourselves and in every scenerio, it is a hit!! Live music on Friday nights makes that evening our favourite!! You can't go wrong - food is fabulous, wine list is simply wonderful and service is attentive without being at all hovering. I would eat there every weekend if it were possible."

  • "6th visit to the Bruce Wine Bar in Thornbury. The past two visits, the veal shank was tough. Like it had been cooked too fast. I expect braised meat to be fall off the bone tender - it wasn't. Soup was excellent. The halibut in the special of the evening was also overcooked. The waitress recommended the Ontario "proscecco" and it was very good! For the price of the meal for two - I would expect my main courses to be perfectly cooked. A bit disappointing. I love the ambiance and the music. However, I think we will stick to the pizza and soup or salad in the future."

  • "We had wanted to try this restaurant for a while. So happy we did! The food was outstanding. Though there is an upstairs dining room where live music performances occur on Friday nights, we two sat downstairs at the bar in a spot where we could watch the activities in the kitchen. It was very relaxing and interesting to watch the group work and they were very nice to field the odd question. The food was fresh, deliciously prepared, and very nicely presented. We cannot wait to return!"

  • "The lunch menu featured interesting sandwiches, soup and salads as well as pizza. French fries were fabulous, as were both sandwiches. Great wine, but made for a bit of pricy lunch."

  • "Great evening. Beautiful decor and excellent menu and wine list. We choose from the valentine's day specials. The food was generously proportioned, but my meal was over-salted. Otherwise, food was great. Service was excellent and there was a jazz trio that provided the perfect live music for a special dinner."

  • "I found my experience at this restaurant to be okay not good or great, the atmosphere was very nice, location easy to get to, easy parking, and the service was good and friendly but the food lacked the overall quality in the price we paid and for the size of the portions, it was like paying a high price for a very small portion of food, that lacked taste and quantity although the presentation was okay. The wine selection was nice and very good and in comparison priced well per bottle as compared to the food per plate and size of the portion. I would give this restaurant another try again and would recammend this establishment as a nice place to have a bite to eat and with a good wine selection."
