  • "I eat here every couple weeks when I work in Orange County. Great place to meet clients, comfortable setting. One thing that I have an issue with are the booths. The seating is a bit uncomfortable.. I'm not a big guy but I feel like I'm very close to the table, very claustrophobic."

  • "The food is amazing, the drinks are strong my Vesper Martini was pure alcohol. The hostess's are a little hit and miss, we arrived 4 minutes prior to our reservation and were told we would be seated right away only to sit and wait 15 minutes... The two girls seemed more interested in chatting together rather then getting tables turned, I know they don't have control of people leaving but telling people they will be seated in five minutes and waiting 15 with no other communication from the pair of hostesses is frustrating. Enough complaints, the Prime Rib was tasty, the Rib Eye Special totally amazing.. My personal favorite was the the Potato Fondu, so delicious I think I could skip the meal and just eat that!"

  • "My husband and I have dined at Bru Grill and Market...many, many times! We especially enjoy Happy Hour as you get to try several delicious dishes at a significantly reduced price. My husband has had lunch and dinner with business associates several times. This particular dinner experience was a first for his brother and sister-in-law. As always, food was delicious and beautifully plated. Server was very attentive, dessert was amazing ~ the four of us shared the bread pudding. Evening dining can be quite noisy but festive! We will continue to enjoy many more meals at Bru!"

  • "Despite being seated immediately, we were not greeted by a server in a timely fashion. In fact, the group of four that was seated next to us more than 10 minutes after us was greeted and had their drink order taken AND delivered without us ever being approached by a server. On top of that, the server for their table seemed to deliberately avoid eye contact with us. It wasn't until we notified the hostess of the lack of attention that we were eventually served. In fairness, once our server arrived, our order was taken and served in a reasonable timeframe. The food was typical bar fair. Unfortunately, the inattentiveness at the beginning spoiled the experience, especially since our reservation was after the lunchtime rush (not during)."

  • "The food was delicious and the décor and ambiance were great but service was extremely slow. I have been there a handful of time and ever time has been that way. Not only does the food take a long time, but you don't see your waiter for long periods of time. Maybe understaffed. One time we had to ask them to package up our lunches because we had run out time."

There were only 4 of us so not a large table, but we were screaming to be heard. Once they seated a large party of 12 men next to us, we gave up, paid our bill and left. Like the food and the variety offered."

  • "First time here, and brought friends...we were all pleasantly surprised. We shared the calamari as an appetizer, which we enjoyed. Our dinner guests had the green salad...substantial with dressing on the side. My husband and I had the French Onion soup...delicious. They shared the fresh halibut as an entree...cooked as they requested, and they really enjoyed it. We shared the paella with risotto, and will definitely have it again...really good! All in all, we took a chance on coming here, and will be back. Nice to be surprised for a change!"

Really like the chicken wings, flatbreads, seafood plates and the chili chicken plate. Actually, it's really hard not to have a good meal there are so many great dinner options on this menu. Wine list is very good."

  • "Pleasant dining experience. Went for dinner with some new friends who had never been there before and they said they plan to come back. Asked for a quiet table so we could talk and they did their best to accommodate us. Service was good. They have a pretty interesting menu.. I had the seafood sampler. Beautiful presentation, but the prawns were overcooked and overall I thought the dish could have had a little more flavor. Ambiance is nice for a local restaurant and the noise level is not too bad. Overall four stars for a local restaurant. Keep up the good work."

  • "Came here with a group of 8 and a baby, and overall had a good experience. The beer selection is extensive, flights reasonably-priced. Food selection varies from flatbreads to burgers (or rather burger) and more entree-esque fare. Some items could stand to be enhanced--the lobster mac and cheese was lackluster, and the OMGWTF spicy wings fell a bit short--but overall food was tasty. The desserts stood out, with the table sampling the bread pudding, creme brulee (delectable!) and. Deconstructed s'more. Service was acceptable albeit inattentive--beverages remained empty until refills were requested and several requests for condiments had to be made--but I typically attribute that to servers neglecting big parties at least a bit."

  • "Had another wonderful meal at Bru! Seafood sampler is great, one of our party had that. The Chile chicken is so tender, moist and delicious according to my wife. I went light and had the spinach salad with steak, very nice and it hit the spot. The fourth had the ribeye special that night and loved it."

  • "Bru is one of the best restaurants around. Delicious non-chain food, amazing wine and draft beer selections and crazy good desserts. I've been here 20+ times since it's opened and given the seasonal menu there's always something new to try. If you love beer there are few places that match the quality and select of drafts. It's one of the only places that can make a guy and his gf/wife happy at the same time."

I booked on OpenTable and the owner personally text me to find out about our birthday celebration. He said there would be a special surprise on the table and there was! I am very impressed coming from the food industry. It is rare to find service and attentiveness today. Our server Eric was a gem. He gave us excellence from start to finish and was fun and funny. Food portions were large and cooked to perfection. A unique variety of food selection. Thank you Bru!"

  • "We have driven by Bru many times & always wondered what it was like. Many friends of ours frequent this restaurant/bar/wine market & rave about it. The pictures they post on Instagram look amazing & so we finally gave it a go for my Dad's 70th Bday. WOW!! We immediately loved the decor & vibe the minute we walked in the door. Service was top notch & the food was spectacular! It's an open concept restaurant so it can get a little noisy but overall - nothing to complain about!! We are defintely going to become regulars at Bru!"

  • "My family went here to celebrate my husband's birthday. I've lived in the area for years and never went, but we'll definitely go back. Our waitress was extremely knowledgeable about the menu. She wasn't pushy at all, in fact, she gave us a couple of ideas on how we can save a little money. The food was all wonderful. I had the seared ahi tuna. My two son's and husband all had beef entrees and there was nothing left on their plates. My only complaint would be the noise level. It was pretty noisy, so not sure I'd come here for a romantic dinner."

  • "When we arrived we were expecting something different for OC Restaurant Week. On the OpenTable list they had "Gourmet Menu" listed as who they were participating. Unfortunately they did not have anything special or more gourmet than their regular menu (which is excellent anyways). They didn't even appear to tell their staff that they were participating in OC Restaurant Week at all! The hostesses that greeted us weren't even aware of what is was, let alone that the restaurant they worked at was participating. One of the other members of our party mentioned that Bru Grill and Market had done the same thing to them last year. Still a great restaurant with great food and an excellent happy hour in their large bar and outdoor seating areas."

  • "Second time at this restaurant. First time food was great, second time food was great. Out of 8 diners, only 1 what was not satisfactory. That was the pork chop only because it was a very small portion for a Man's dinner. Drink list, wine list & beer list are exceptional. The bread pudding for dessert was divine. Will go again.   • "The short rib ravioli was amazing. The market fish was pan seared too much which overlooked the fish and made it difficult to chew. The kids loved their food. The service was awesome and informative to begin with, but as the evening progressed our waitress seemed overwhelmed with the other tables added to her area. She understood and made up with offering us a complimentary glass of wine. We were very appreciative of that. We are looking forward to returning."

  • "The food was awesome as always. We split chicken wings for an appetizer. Bru has the best wings anywhere. We both had excellent salads. I had the NY steak my wife the mussels off of the appetizer menu (plenty for dinner). We shared the bru cake for desert which may be my favorite desert in orange county. Before, during and after drinks were great. Wine list is good and after dinner drinks never dissapoint. There was live music that could be heard from the bar at the perfect volume at our table. The guitarist was playing a good mix of the eagles clapton etc... The service was perfect. Thanks bru. Every time we have a free night from the kids we end up here and we have never been dissapointed."

  • "I made reservations here ON Valentine's Day purely because it was the only stylish, yet affordable restaurant that had availability for 7:30. I was skeptical because I had never been here nor had even heard of it. But the yelp reviews are good, so I thought "Why not?" The atmosphere of this restaurant is very rustic-glam. Which is perfect if you're looking for a spot that's a little dressy. And the food is just TO DIE FOR. We had the lobster mac n' cheese and the pesto fettuccine Alfredo, both absolutely delicious and absolutely shareable. It's really hard finding a restaurant that is romantic, dressy, affordable and gives reasonable proportions in terms of food, but brü has all of that! And the servers are pretty easy on the eyes."

  • "Last minute we made a Valentine's reservation at Bru. A charming host led us to our table and explained the wines and spirits, we felt bad telling him we don't drink. Our waiter Justin was very helpful. My husband wanted Lobster Mac & Cheese with truffle oil added, he checked with the chef who agreed so hubby was happy. For starters we shared a spinach salad which was very good. I had the delicious Seafood Sampler and the presentation was beautiful. It includes 4 oz. of fish over truffled mashed potatoes and spinach, a diver scallop over the same and in the middle prawns wrapped in Speck ham with pesto and a succotash. For dessert we had the chocolate Dream Cake. I'm glad we found Bru and know we will return."

I recommend this place to anyone looking for exceptional, creative dishes ranging from Mediterranean to American. It's not for the budget-friendly, but you definitely get what you pay for: great food. Service was great and prompt. Noise was on the high side since there's live music. Extensive wine and alcohol list. Try it out!"
