Brown Dog has become our 'goto' for special occasions and when high quality food is required. Not much is wasted with decor but yet it is a nice quiet atmosphere in which to enjoy your food. Save room for dessert as the black pepper strawberry sorbet is a must have for us.

We are fortunate to live close by and this is our "go to" place. Whether meeting another couple or just the two of us to sit at the bar to dine. The menu always offers delicious and interesting choices. The wine selection is fantastic. The wait staff is so good, attentive and friendly. Love it and will continue to.

They advertise on their website 3 courses for $30 on Thursdays and the advert was loaded Aug 25th but on Sep 4th they refused to honour as the offer was for the summer which finished Aug 31st - unfair and possibly illegal advertising

I researched Brown Dog in advance of a business trip and liked the menu but had some doubt that it could really be as good as it looked. It was better. Our entire party was still bragging about their meals the next day as one in our group arrived late and missed the rest of us and ended up at Bob Evans. Boy did he blow it! We'll be back!

My wife and I recently enjoyed a wonderful experience at Brown Dog Café. The menu offers a wide range of dining options at a reasonable price - many of which are rarely found in other Cincinnati area restaurants and the wine list was just as satisfactory. My wife had a crab cake appetizer and a spinach salad in lieu of a full dinner meal and I had Halibut Oscar, which was one of the night's specials. Delicious! as usual, the Brown Dog is a bit noisy as it is a small facility but the service was good, the food and wine was excellent and the price reflected the appropriate value for the overall experience. We will return in the future.

Tucked away in a strip mall behind Bob Evans, location was difficult to find. With a call to the restaurant, however, we were successfully guided there. Because of traveling delays, we missed our reservation time, but luckily our table was awaiting us after calling to explain our delay. They even seated us with wearing very casual attire because we had no time to change. The atmosphere was pleasant, the meal was delightful & the wait staff was attentive. The bartender even made a non-alcoholic drink for my nephew that was not on the menu. Whether a local or out-of-towner staying in the Blue Ash area, this restaurant is definitely one to search out. We'll return when in the area again.

Brown Dog is a wonderful neighborhood gem! Have been there a number of times and always enjoyable. My friend declared her salad as possibly the best of the summer and she traveled throughout Europe this summer. My crab cake had a little too much breading and seemed smaller than usual - but still delish. Excellent service!

I took a client to Brown Dog to get to know one another better, and to finalize some details of our agreement. The food was great. I had the sea bass with Boursin mashed potatoes and asparagus. I was a bit disappointed at how cool the food was, like it had been sitting waiting to be picked up. My guest had a seafood dish with mussels, shrimp and other fish with flat pasta noodles. He loved it. We each had coffee and left. Total $46 without tip. Only real complaint was how noisy it was, it made conservation difficult.

The choices at Brown Dog are impressive and inventive. For example, we had venison arapas as an appetizer which was delicious and different compared to many restaurants. Our entrees took a little long to arrive, but were excellent. The fries that came with my "(crab)cake and steak" special were outstanding as was the rest of the entree. The wine list has some very reasonable offerings and we found a great choice. We have been to Brown Dog a couple of times and have been impressed each time. We will be back.

We'd been in the car for hours & did a Yelp search on the area. We were tired & hungry, and we skeptically approached the entrance, which is located in a strip mall next to a Subway. WHAT a pleasant surprise! This place is outstanding. Don't let the locale deceive you. The interior is lovely & intimate. Chef Shawn McCoy greeted us and gave recommendations. We had a beet salad & a venison arepa to start - delicious and served quickly. The wild boar's coffee rub was great, and kale & apple salad were the perfect side. I had the Duck, Buck - venison & duck confit. Rich & delicious, with a great sauce, potato pancake, and creamed spinach. Our service was wonderful, & prices were affordable. Such a find, & we want to go back to try the martinis!

I was caught in traffic, trapped on the highway for well over an hour, making me late for my reservation. The staff was so accommodating! They seated part of the group and they ordered appetizers, so we still had a lovely meal even with all the delays. In addition, I have seldom seen a menu with so many great gluten-free options, which made it a great find!

Food was great as always. We both had the duck with pheasant sausage. This chef is an expert with duck. Service was a little confused--they were having computer problems. Nice crusty hot bread served with lunch. My fellow diners had never been there and said they would be back in a hearbeat. Secluded in a strip mall, but very nicy place to dine-especially to enjoy conversation, more quieter places to dine.

Brown Dog Cafe is a real gem, nestled (hidden?) in a small, nondescript strip mall on Pfeiffer Road in Blue Ash. The dining environment is a bit noisy, but very cozy and warm.
