Great fresh food but on the pricey side. It takes awhile to get your entrée as they cook from scratch. If the side salad would have been included in the entrée it would be a fair price. the bread and herb butter is delicious.

I was attending a leadership conference at the Crowne Plaza. The group I was with decided they didn't want to dine at the hotel. At 10am I quickly made a reservation for 10 at noon. The table was ready when we arrived. Our drink & food orders were promptly taken. It took a little longer than expected for our food to make it to the table. When the food arrived it was delicious. Nearly everyone ordered something different & each person raved about their choice. Great place to dine. I highly recommend without hesitation.

A few months ago when I was here I had the Cioppino, it was fabulous, so when I saw a seafood appetizer on the menu I thought at first it was the same thing but it wasn't. The server explained to me what the difference was and she was able to tweak it to my liking. It was wonderful. When we discussed wines, & BTW, I love their wine list, not same same same with inflated prices, but interesting things to try, I told the server what I like and don't like and she nailed it! Everyone enjoyed their meals, cooked to perfection. Be careful, the bread is wonderful too.

I had the soup of the day to start - it was a delicious crab & corn chowder. Had the beet salad next. It was perfect. The beets were pickled - both red and golden beets. Arugula came with it, it had a nice light but tasteful dressing on it along with some marinated grape tomatoes. Got the filet mignon for my entree. It tasted great, had a nice garlicky flavor to it. Sometimes filet mignon's can be very boring, this wasn't. It came with a side of mashed potatoes which were delicious. It also came with asparagus. I love asparagus if it is done right but this was gross. It was limp, that ugly overcooked olive green color and tasted so bitter. I said something to the server. I asked for a different side. She rattled off a few. I went with the creamed spinach. I was expecting a Boston Market type creamed spinach. This was more like a spinach mousse, it looked like baby food. I tasted it and it was bitter, too. It was like the spinach was overworked. To comp me for my bad vegetables they comped me a free dessert, so I went with the creme brulee. That was done right, right texture, right consistency. Whoever was in charge of the vegetables needs to go back to cooking school, everything else was fantastic.

Asked for booth at 6pm. Told only for 4 people but two other booths had newly sat couples. They must've read prior reviews because waitress was friendly. Forgot to bring appetizer but showed up on bill. Food had too many "bold" flavors". Muddied and slightly pretentious. Great bread. Nice wine list. Go for cocktails.

I have had dining for years at the BDC and have never been disappointed. The food is very good and I like the new features (Duck bucks,...). Plus you changed the bread: very good bread now. Keep it that way, please... Now I don't think that the service is at that same level. Service is good but I have seen more friendly and smily waitresses, and it has been that way for years as I can recognize the same waitresses. Keep up with the good job! :-)

It's been years since I've been to the Brown Dog and when I was looking at the amazing menu, I couldn't recall why we hadn't been back. An hour into our visit when we still hadn't received our salads I remembered why. We'll probably try it again because we love not having to go all the way downtown and the menu is amazing but I will try to figure out how to speed up the process.

The Brown Dog's menu is creative but unpretentious, and it includes some wild game items that you don't often find elsewhere. The wild boar tenderloin is deservedly popular; the restaurant also offers pheasant, duck, and rabbit. Last week I had pumpkin seed-encrusted scallops served with cranberry coulis and a lovely pumpkin risotto; everything was delicious. For dessert, try the strawberry-black pepper sorbet and experience icy heat! We have heard that the Brown Dog soon will be moving to Blue Ash's new Summit Park (on the site of the old airport). The new location should improve the ambiance (wouldn't an outdoor terrace be a wonderful addition?), but we hope that nothing else changes.

The Brown Dog Cafe has a lot of unusual menu offerings - multiple options with game meats. My husband had the venison starter and the duck and venison entree. Everything was very tasty, but the menu in general is quite heavy. Some lighter and less heavily dressed options would be a good addition. I started with one of the evening's specials - roasted tomato caprese. It was so delicious that I wished that I had had an entree sized portion. It was very crowded on this Saturday - we waited 30 minutes for our reservation, but it was clear that the staff were doing their best to get those of us waiting in our seats.

I had been to the Brown Dog Cafe several times for lunch, but this was the first time for dinner. Had no trouble getting a reservation within an hour on a Saturday night. Food was excellent. I had the Australian lamb chops and they were meaty, cooked perfectly, and delicious. My wife had the swordfish special and thoroughly enjoyed it. Server was very casual and very helpful with the menu and wine. Good wine selection at wide range of price points. Located in a small mall so not fancy inside, but come for the food.

I researched Brown Dog in advance of a business trip and liked the menu but had some doubt that it could really be as good as it looked. It was better. My wife and I recently enjoyed a wonderful experience at Brown Dog Café. The menu offers a wide range of dining options at a reasonable price - many of which are rarely found in other Cincinnati area restaurants and the wine list was just as satisfactory. My wife had a crab cake appetizer and a spinach salad in lieu of a full dinner meal and I had Halibut Oscar, which was one of the night's specials. Delicious! as usual, the Brown Dog is a bit noisy as it is a small facility but the service was good, the food and wine was excellent and the price reflected the appropriate value for the overall experience. We will return in the future.

Tucked away in a strip mall behind Bob Evans, location was difficult to find. With a call to the restaurant, however, we were successfully guided there. Because of traveling delays, we missed our reservation time, but luckily our table was awaiting us after calling to explain our delay. They even seated us with wearing very casual attire because we had no time to change. The atmosphere was pleasant, the meal was delightful & the wait staff was attentive. The bartender even made a non-alcoholic drink for my nephew that was not on the menu. Whether a local or out-of-towner staying in the Blue Ash area, this restaurant is definitely one to search out. We'll return when in the area again.
