What a great place to go with friends! We not only had a great meal (the food & wine were fabulous), but were not rushed. We were able to visit and talk, without being pushed to order. The staff was so pleasant, accommodating and very unobtrusive. The menu is so varied that everyone can find something they love. This is one of our favorite restaurants and definitely worth a try.

My girlfriends and I were up in the area to wine taste and booked dinner here on a recommendation. So glad we did! The food and service were outstanding. I can't wait to go back and try something else on the menu. My filet was truly the best I have ever had. The port/Blue cheese sauce was to die for. We had the Caramel Brioche Bread Pudding for dessert - Awesome also. I was impressed by the way the staff worked together. We were very well taken care of by not only our waitress but by many different staff members - all making sure our needs were taken care of and our food was delivered promptly. If you are in the Santa Ynez area - check this place out. You won't regret it.

Was told by a local that ranchers eat there and its a causal restaurant. We made reservations for 3, two adults and a five year old. There was no printed kids menu. The wait people seemed tense. The cooks face the patrons from the kitchen. You are being watched the entire time. It was an uncomfortable environment. The highlight of our experience was the floor manager he fixed my order and bought us a desert. Our bill was $160 and we drank water. Dinner salad is extra. Too Hollywood for me. The steaks were very good though.

Admittedly, we didn't eat much. My wife and I shared the 16-ounce prime rib, which was not especially tender but tasted very good. Sides were not notable but fine. Sweet corn soup appetizer was the highlight of the meal. Nice place. Good service. Prices seem fair.

Returned for second lunch during our weekend visit, did not disappoint! Tried the fish and chips which we saw flying out of the kitchen on our first visit, and also the bacon avocado burger----both were delicious and the server was more than happy to substitute salad for fries on the burger. We also tried a cup of the locally farmed/produced sweet corn soup, really good though wished it had a bit more whole corn kernels. Overall this is an outstanding lunch option in Santa Ynez and we will be back next time!

Arrived in town for the weekend earlier than expected, decided to go directly to lunch before hotel check-in. We started with cup of French onion soup and half size spinach salad---both were really superb. Then shared the pulled pork sandwich with fries, incredibly perfect with house made BBQ sauce that had a slight kick to it. Our server was more than happy to offer up the half order on the salad, which was not mentioned on the menu, and also no charge on the split for the sandwich --- nice. We enjoyed it so much we went back the next day to try more menu items!

Had no idea we were in for such a wonderful experience. The Prime Rib was the best I ever ate and the Trout was prepared and served in a way that the dish was a dining delight. Service was friendly and timed perfectly. The experience made two couples very pleased with their Anniversary night out.

My wife and I recently celebrated our anniversary at the Red Barn. The food was excellent. She had the prime rib and I had a filet steak. Both were outstanding. I also had the French onion soup which was excellent. The service was terrific. The only complaint was that it was a little noisy and at times difficult to carry on a conversation. Overall we had a great experience.

We celebrated my wife's birthday(on the QT) at the Red Barn; we had been to their "brother' restaurant, Sides, Hardwares, etc} and thoroughly enjoyed the food and service; we decided to give the Red Barn a try since we frequent the area regularly; we were not disappointed with our experience at the Red Barn and have decided to make it part of our stops on our next visit to the Santa Yanez Valley, the food and atmosphere were excellent and was not rushed to order or complete our dinner; we certainly recommend the establishment to anyone looking for a pleasant dining experience.

I'll go anywhere the brothers are. Their food is so outstanding. Prime rib is better than you can get anywhere and if you are a lamb lover you have never tasted better. All their food is delicious. I don't like overhead lights casting down and creating shadows on the table. Kind of stark. I'm more the cozy type and appreciate fresh flowers on the table, but really enjoy the outdoors. I would go back and sit outside but not inside.

Everything at the Brothers Restaurant at Red Barn was amazing - impeccable service timed perfectly, a great wine list with local Central Coast favorites, and FRESH, delicious fare - carrots and snap peas picked from the garden fresh - and grilled meats cooked to perfection - the filet was juicy and perfectly seasoned, as was my husband's lamb dish and my friend's selection of the goat cheese stuffed chicken breast... Oh and can someone say "meyer lemon cheesecake"? Yes please! Will definitely be back!

We ordered the Tuna Tartare for starters. It reminded us of poke, which we love! It had a spicy ginger sauce and served with wonton chips. Delicious. My wife ordered the filet mignon and I had the ribeye, both cooked perfectly medium rare and bursting with flavor. We ordered their merlot/cab/shiraz blend and it went very well with the steaks. For dessert we tried their homemade sorbet (raspberry, dark chocolate, and coconut). It was served with a dark chocolate olive oil cookie. Despite the dessert being dairy and gluten free, the sorbet was genuinely creamy and the cookie soft and chewy.

My husband and I decided to dine at the Red Barn...(the first time) and secured a Friday night 6:45 dinner reservation. We arrived at 6:35 and were seated immediately. It may appear as a "red" barn on the outside but the interior was very modern with an open kitchen concept and a very active bar scene. We were seated in a very secluded section of the restaurant and enjoyed the "quiet" even though the restaurant was very busy. The menu was very good and the wine list was extensive, something you would expect being in the heart of the Santa Ynez wine country. The prime rib was excellent and prepared exactly as ordered... and the service was OUTSTANDING! Just the right amount of "attention". Overall, a wonderful dining experience!

We took friends who had never been there before and they loved the food. We have been there several times prior and thought it would be a great place to take them and the experience was top notch. Our friends are locals to the area and said that it will be number one on their list. We have had Prime Rib at several restaurants in California as well as in other states. The Red Barn earns the blue ribbon for the best Prime Rib. We recommend this restaurant without any hesitation.

We came here for my boyfriend's birthday - we had inquired around the town of Santa Ynez and Brothers had good reviews. It was definitely worth the higher prices than some other places in town. The service was excellent - not too much hovering but just enough checking in. I had the petit filet and my bf had the chicken - started with the leek soup and it was extraordinary. Au gratin potatoes with filet were very tasty - a bit rich but it was a birthday dinner so.....peas and carrots were cooked to perfection - not soggy, crunchy but cooked enough. We ended with sharing a creme brulee which was incredible! Along with a few cappuccios to end the meal, we had a great time. We sat back in a little corner so noise wasn't an issue for us.

As always, The Brothers put out some of the SYV's best food with fresh ingredients prepared simply and tastefully. It is "homey" kicked up a notch. And everything is made from scratch. This is definitely a locals favorite. If you are around on Thursday, they serve filet mignon tacos in the bar...not to be missed.

In its new location, the Brothers' Restaurant serves the same great food and exceptional service. But that is also a bit of a problem. The menu never changes. Most of the main courses are meat (delicious), but everything seems to come with one form or another of mashed potatoes. We like our steaks chops with a baked potato, which seems to be beyond the culinary skills of the chef. That said, everything else is perfectly prepared, and the staff is friendly and accommodating. I would like to see more "specials", including a pasta of the day.
