Brookville RestaurantDelicious!!We ate here for Mother's Day brunch and all of us (husband and two young adult daughters) enjoyed our food! The b.f.p. pancakes are enormous and delicious. You've got to order one even if you don't like pancakes just for the experience. The bacon was outstanding as were the egg dishes. If you're a coffee fan, they serve their coffee in a french press -- ensuring that the coffee is piping hot. We plan to return to try the regular menu!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMlovely !my sister and i went on a slow week night and were greeted warmly and never rushed. food was delicious, prepared and presented with great care....our servers were friendly and efficient....we will be back !5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMI've come here a few timesI've come here a few times for brunch or dessert, but this was my first time for dinner. Food was excellent, as always. I had a roasted duck breast with cheesy grits and ramps, my friend had a fantastic steak with compote butter, and for dessert we had the poundcake with rubarb-strawberry puree and creme anglaise. The menu emphasizes fresh, local foods, beers, and wines -- our dishes aren't likely to be on the menu when you visit, but it will be something equally great. (Get the fesh-baked bacon chocolate chip cookies if they're available.)
I've always enjoyed the atmosphere -- warm and somewhat casual. It's fine-dining food, but the waitstaff uniform is a t-shrit and the check comes in a mason jar -- delicious and not pretentious.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMThe fried green tomato saladThe fried green tomato salad was wonderful. However, the crispy pork belly dish was way too salty. Both the preserved vegetables and the skin were so salty they were inedible4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMDefinitely worth a tryHad dinner Saturday evening; dining room (the one not by the bar) was very comfortable and quiet, tables well spaced out. Each of the appetizers/snacks was very good, the surry sausages with mustard and maple syrup, stewed lentils and the fried chicken "sammy" which was huge, could have been dinner by itself; each of us had the house fettucine with bolognese, tasty. The only down sides are no draft beers and a somewhat limited menu, depending on the daily choices provided. For dessert, the bacon float was a hit, the donuts not so much. Service was prompt and professional, all in all an enjoyable time.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMWent here based on other reviewsWent here based on other reviews on OpenTable. Fantastic little place. Locally sourced foods that taste good, attentive, bright service, and warm ambiance.
We did the tasting menu (55$/pp) which came with five courses. The chef clearly loves bacon, so if you do not, I would stay away. However, every one of my five courses was excellent, with bacon and other ingredients used in creative ways, and everything cooked exquisitely.
A final mention to the dessert: Bacon ice cream with mexican CocaCola float. Truly unique, but quite good!3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat experience. KnowledgeableGreat experience. Knowledgeable staff willing to give recommendations. Interesting menus with lots of pork specials from the area.3/19/2013 12:00:00 AMDevine swine and great service! We thoroughly enjoyed our brunch at Brookville. My husband ordered the B.F.P. with bacon and managed to finish the entire thing (with a little help from me)! I chose the hangover cure for its multitude of pork products (bacon, rasher & pork belly) and I must say each was impressively unique and tasty.
Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. He checked to see if we could get one of the chocolate chip bacon cookies although it was not listed on the brunch menu and we were not disappointed!
I enjoyed our table by the window and liked the exposed brick walls and mason jar glasses. Our check was even presented in a jelly jar which I found to be a nice touch.
We will definitely return to Brookville--we want to try the dinner menu.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding! Food was excellent.Outstanding! Food was excellent. Great taste and presentation. Ambiance was very nice. We will go back and bring some friends.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMI think this restaurant mayI think this restaurant may be new from local's reactions to it but what a delightful find! We were a adventurous and ordered the deviled eggs, ( a bit vinegary to me but not terrible), the grilled cheese (phenomenal! Comes with bacon and I think cucumber with Gouda cheese. loved the greens in the middle, gave it some crunch with out overwhelming the cheese and bacon), the beef stew (deconstructed w horse radish and carrots! YUMM more like pot roast) and the pork chop (perfectly cooked, one of the best pork chops I've ever come across)! I hope their customer base picks up. It was very quiet but very Delicious so they deserve it!12/7/2012 12:00:00 AM
