  • "What a wonderful respite from a long week. The ambience is a stunning rendition of Meadowbrook Hall. The food was superb. The combination of setting and epicure was just what the doctor ordered to unwind."

  • "Beautiful hotel ambience surrounds the Brookshire.....and the restaurant doesn't disappoint. Sit outdoors for a more casual experience overlooking the Paint Creek River or inside for a more fine dining experience. Our entrees were wonderful...all of us enjoyed it not a complaint among us....the cocktails superbly mixed....mine was a spicy bloody Mary that had you thirsting for more. Desserts which we shared...Mile high ,meringue pie was the best I have had and the other desserts sounded wonderful and made it hard to choose....plan n retiring again and again."

  • "We went on a Monday for our anniversary. The restaurant was understandably quiet since it was Monday, but the patio was fun and lively. We ate in the dining room but could see the patio where a fun happy hour was happening next to the great view. I am a true food snob and find it's hard to find good food here in the burbs, but this was really good. We shared the calamari which was perfectly cooked and I loved the lemon and capers on it. My husband had the carbonara pasta. He loved it, but was stuffed so beware, it's filling. I had the halibut with the grilled gnocchi and it was perfectly cooked and delicious. We will be back for another special occasion."

  • "I can always expect quality cuisine and service at The Brookshire. That is why my friend and I meet here."

  • "Reservation for my birthday dinner. ONE server for the entire floor. Simple dinner took nearly 3 hours. Food fair with husband's simple order incorrect. Chose to not deal with the error as this was 1.5 hours into the ordeal. Ordered dessert not knowing that there was a complimentary one for me. Ala Carta'd to death. "

  • "Took my wife here for her 45th birthday. As always, the food and service were both great. Special note: the butternut squash soup is a must try! Truly incredible!"

  • "We really enjoyed our dinner at the Brookshire. The food was fantastic. Ambiance was perfect. We had some mix ups with the service and had to wait longer than we should, but server apologized and more than made up for it with comps. We would definitely eat here again recommend it to friends."

  • "Despite the fact that only 2 tables were filled for breakfast, it took a long time for someone to seat me. However, the service did pick up and actually was quite good and attentive. The food was more interesting than the typical breakfast fare; I had the Frittata of the day - very good. The ambiance can't be beat. "

  • "We had another great dinner at the Brookshire Restaurant in the Royal Park Hotel. We usually hit Elliot's Lounge, which is very nice but not as formal. For special occasions (a birthday in this case) we eat at the Brookshire. Our waiter was Carter who is one of the best in the Detroit area. He is very knowledgeable on the wines, food, and specials and keeps us entertained on many different topics. Many times we buy from the specialty wine list where they have fantastic 1/2 off specials. This night we did an excellent St. Emilion from the normal wine list. I had the Steak Diane which has incredible flavors and is cooked at your table. My wife had the Maytag Filet which she said melted in her mouth. Our appetizer was a tuna tartar."

  • "Had a great time for our anniversary. Food and service was great!"

  • "Food was good, not great. Filet was cooked correctly (medium rare) but was dry. Normally a rest puts a pad off flavored butter or a little Demi glase on the plate even if die presentation. Very up eventful. Mashed potatoes were cold. My dinner was good, steak Diane and presentation was nice. But it was not hot."

  • "We had a WONDERFUL time! Celebrating 3 couples anniversaries for a total of 76 years of marriage! It was a very special occasion and the Brookshire met all the expectations!"

  • "I had coupons to use and it was my son's birthday. We decided to take advantage and go out to eat which we don't normally do. It was a Monday night . . . . not busy, but our service was exquisite and the food was excellent. We arrived later than I wanted so I felt a little rushed but the waitstaff did not. The ambience is beautiful - I have stayed in many hotels, and ate ate many restaurants but this one seems like a home away from home, only better . . . and I only live 3 miles away. Thank you for a wonderful experience while enjoying my son's 23rd birthday."

  • "We had a birthday breakfast occasion and the service could have been much better. Server did not come to the table near enough. Only 5 tables filled in the restaurant and 3 servers on the floor."

  • "Great place - food and service exceptional! Dining room is beautiful - but atrium has great views. Royal Tea is very special too - a great way to spend time with friends."

  • "My wife and I celebrated our 44th Anniversary with a terrific dinner. Everything - and I do mean everything - was excellent starting with the freshly baked bread skillet, then the Jumbo Shrimp, then the Bibb salad, and the Steak Diane prepared at the table. We'll be back a couple times before our next Anniversary."

  • "the restaurant itself has an outstanding look and feel and the food only made it better. we had a special coupon for the restaurant so we tried a good variety. the service was outstanding and was on top with everything including filling the water and taking our order. the food was excellent as well. i had the filet and it was very juicy and delicious. the only thing i didnt so much like was the mac and cheese we had there which was pretty bland and the only reason why food was 4 stars. we finished with dessert which was creme brulee and it was the highlight of the entire dinner with its beautiful presentation. overall, this is an amazing restaurant and if i could afford it i would go again"

  • "The food, ambience, etc. was first-rate in this classy restaurant."

  • "The only reason I gave 3 stars is because my wife enjoyed her short ribs & rigatoni. Otherwise the only good thing about the meal was the dirty martini and even that could have been improved (chilled glass, blue cheese olives, etc). The calamari was small & chewy with a too-salty "Thai" sauce, the sea bass was over-priced, underwhelming & no better than anything I could've gotten at Red Lobster. The server seemed detached & not concerned with checking to make sure we were having a pleasurable experience (which we were, but only because we enjoy each other - had nothing to do with the dining experience). I will not be returning & would not recommend this place."

  • "We had such a wonderful time; we had many appetizers, soups, and ended up splitting our entree. A few martini's a bottle or so of wine...fit for a King and his Queen (that would be me...hehe)!! Love, service perfect, ambiance romantic, food fabulous!! A+"

  • "This was my first experience at this restaurant and I have to say it was definitely a great one. The dining room was absolutely beautiful and the atmosphere was very relaxed. The staff was extremely kind and were always readily available to help. Not that this came to any surprise, but the food was absolutely delicious-I ordered a chicken pasta dish and it definitely satisfied my taste buds' I will definitely be back again and I highly recommend going there!"

  • "I visit The Royal Park Hotel often whether it’s for dining at Brookshire Restaurant, drinks at Elliott's Lounge or room stay in the hotel. While the food at Brookshire is always good, Elliott's lounge is always inconsistent. The bar tender and GM seemed to have a poor attitude and was not friendly at all and because of this I will probably not be returning and I will no longer recommend this place as I have many times before. It is a shame. You would think after spending over $1,000 in one night at the hotel that the staff would be a little nicer to their customers. If you are only interested in a good meal, I do recommend the food at the Brookshire restaurant, but I am not sure if I would recommend anything more after how I was treated."

  • "This is an excellent spot for dinner to make you feel away from it all. The restaurant is beautiful and you can walk downtown Rochester after eating! Valet parking is free if you have dinner here, just be sure to get your ticket validated by the hostess."

  • "This restaurant was a gem....Myself and 3 other women came to celebrate one of the girl's 85th birthday. We all loved the décor and ambience of the restaurant. The food was pricey but everything was delicious. I highly recommend the butternut squash soup. It was my favorite. Our waiter, Carter, was very pleasant and knowledgeable of the menu. He had a great sense of humor and also added to the enjoyment of our dining experience. I would recommend this restaurant for special occasions/gatherings."

  • "It was such a wonderful meal with a great bottle of wine. The ambiance is truly worth the expense, although, it is not really "that" expensive. Wonderful offerings even for people with a gluten intolerance. It was an exceptional evening and meal. The flour-less cake was so enjoyed!"

  • "Took a while for a waiter to notice us and get our drink orders, not sure why. After that everything was great. There was a big group of people there that made things a little noisy but overall everything was great."
