  • "We were sceptical about going with another couple based on the reviews we had read but decided to go anyways. I am glad we did because everything was excellent. We started off with the cured meats and assorted cheeses as our server said they were the best in the city; she was right. Our pizza was excellent and quick and our mains were spot on. The dessert was also a tasty gelato and I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. My thoughts on the bad reviews are; maybe it was too busy for the kitchen to keep up with a full restaurant and quality suffered because of it. That did not happen to us"

  • "we were with Italian friends and had a very enjoyable dinner. We ordered many dishes and ate A tapas style meal. Our friends said that the food was authentic and tasted like their mothers would have made! They are very discriminating and I could not think of a better compliment. our server was efficient , pleasant and tried her best. My only complaint would be the beer glasses were not clen and when we asked for a new one it came wet with water! We were told from the dish washer. We would definitely return as well as suggest this restaurant to friends."

  • "Brooklynn's Bistro is a great restaurant for people who enjoy tasty and creative food. Additionally, it is close to the many entertainments of the Exchange District. We loved our appetizers of brussels sprouts and main courses of gnocchi, calamari and huge fat scallops. Delicious!"

  • "A number of complaints: 1. Hard to carry on a conversation at our table due to the high noise level. 2. Sunlight shining directly in my eyes for the first half hour of our stay - get some blinds. 3. Food was good but certainly not worth the prices asked. Left still feeling hungry but did not want to spend more just to feel full. 4. We checked in at the front desk, were seated, stayed a couple of hours, ordered food and ate, paid our bill and left a very reasonable tip for the staff, yet we were sent an e-mail saying we did not honor our reservation. Well, if our presence cannot be accounted for, you can refund our money for a dining experience we did not apparently have."

  • "My girlfriend and I had never been to Brooklyn's for dinner before, and were unsure of what to order. We asked our server about what his favorites on the menu were. He recommended the mixed mushroom arancini, to go with the vino poached beet salad we already ordered. It was absolutely divine! So we asked his opinion for our main dishes. He recommended the drunken mushroom pizza with added prosciutto, and the house made Gnocchi. They were both fantastic! But that Gnocchi was the best I've ever had. Simply a Amazing dining experience. The food, the service, the atmosphere! Everything was superb! We will be back for sure!"

  • "After reading many other reviews I wasn't sure what to think about going here. Upon arriving we were promptly seated. We order a bottle of wine and some arancini. The wine took forever. The arancini arrived at our table and was gone before the wine arrived. Arancini was delicious!! Although there were only 8 tables of guests, the 2 servers couldn't seem to keep up. We ordered 2 fish dishes, the pickerel and the salmon. The risotto with the pickerel was very good. The salmon was done well, but the pasta had and incredibly salty sauce. I couldn't drink enough water the rest of the night. Overall, it was ok, but not a place I will insist we go back to."

  • "Not sure what happened... Have frequent this place on many occasions. Not enough service that night. We had to wait for almost half an hour for our bill. Understaffed that night . Felt sorry for the waitress and the head chef who was running around serving the meals."

  • "Later on a Saturday night this place was still very alive for dinner. The ambiance was nice and welcoming and the staff were all very friendly! The pizza was incredibly delicious as was the pork belly and chicken. The only disappointing dish was the calamari, which lacked in crispiness and flavor. The donuts and gelato were fabulous. The bar tender also knew how to mix a very good drink. We will definitely be going back for more!"

  • "We came because we had a groupon, and we were so impressed. You can't judge a restaurant by its Urbanspoon reviews. Service from Danni was excellent, and the food was out of this world. Both appetizers, italian sausage and arranchini, were perfectly executed and the beef chuck did not need a knife to cut it. The cauliflower puree had the silkiest texture I have ever experienced and I enjoyed every bite. The pistachio gelato was refreshing and the donuts, more like the texture of a churro, were a heavenly end to the meal."

  • "Pretty good, it was a bit chill near the window for me (although my wife was fine with a sweater on), the food and service were great, We started with the Boa pizza as an appetizer (quite tasty, but a few pieces were charred)I had the seared duck on apricot puree (best duck I have ever had) and my wife had the squid ink linguine, a tasty novelty. The drinks were great as well. It was a bit pricey, but a nice place for a romantic dinner. Servers were appropriately attired. It started to get a bit noisy as the night wore on."

  • "I really liked this spot for dinner with my mom. The food was great (healthy portions), drinks were great and the decor is nice and simple. Our waitress was new so she was a bit off on a few things but gave her the benefit of the doubt. I would recommend this spot for a girls wine night, romantic dinner date or just a treat."

  • "In short, the food was incredible, and the only downside was the uninformed and possibly undertrained staff. The staff told our table a dish was vegetarian when there was a giant slice of bacon floating atop of it.... And made a few other noteworthy guffaws like that. That said, they were very nice, so the blame lies more with the managers for not training their staff properly. However, the food was seriously amazing. The pizzas were some of the best we've ever eaten, and everything served to our table was cooked according to the highest standards. Go for the food, just don't leave because of the service."

  • "Four of went to Brooklyn bistro on a Friday night. The place was quite busy. The waitress was very good advising us on the menu. Two people had pizza which was excellent . I had pasta with prawn and Italian sausage which was rich and spicy. Very nice dish. One of us had Salmon. It is a little pricy at $27 for what you actually get. Overall the experience was good. Have been there for lunch also and the pizza is the best choice."

  • "Our kids bought us a groupon for xmas for the Brooklyn's Bistro. We enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurant and the food was delicious. Only one thing to improve... you could use a brighter sign. We walked right past your restaurant and only saw Baileys Restaurant. The service was also very prompt and friendly. We shall return before too long."

Spaghetti and meatballs were delicious! The two HUGE meatballs were so soft, tender and tasty! run ken mushroom pizza was good too. The waiter was friendly and helpful. Make a reservation though! The restaurant fills up quickly!"

  • "Party of four, we all enjoyed our meal. apps were the mushroom balls and citrus salad. Both very good. Entrees were the Nonna pizza- enough for two smaller appetites.-I took half home- very good . Scallops were nicely seared but not overdone. White bean side was excellent. The moderate portion of spaghetti was good with two softball size meatballs. We passed on dessert as we are not big on sweets. Service was attentive and well timed. Good value for price we thought"

  • "The food was fantastic. we were all happy with our meals. The calamari was a little rubbery and the portion miniscule. We were pleased that we were seated away from the large party as otherwise we would not have been able to hear each other in conversation. With such high ceilings and hard wood floors noise is an issue if the restaurant is full. Something to baffle the sound on the walls or floor would be very much appreciated. The service was good, though our waitress had to check a number of things having just come on after the menu change."

  • "I enjoy Brooklyn's for pizza - have been for many lunch time business meetings and it's great. The room is gorgeous, the staff courteous and helpful. However, we went for dinner this time and both had pasta. It was very salty - not to the point of destroying the dishes but VERY noticeable. Within 30 minutes we were both noticing our lips were swollen, and even our hands were puffy and sore. WAY too much salt - wouldn't risk it again."

  • "We used to really like Broklynn's Bistro. But our last visit confirmed that standards are dropping and perhaps the kitchen is either short staffed or poorly managed. It took exactly 74 minutes from the time we ordered to our 'Secondi' to arrive. While the server was truly apologetic and provided information to us... Too much information about the state of the kitchen, the quirks of a large group that was driving her crazy, etc there was no attempt at proper customer service (like another glass of wine on the house or more bread to nibble on). The food was OK, the pizza slightly overcooked but the chicken was moist and well seasoned. The boconccini salad was odd: the fresh mozzarella was butchered and looked like a mousse. Overall, 2 stars."
