Diner Reviews
  • "They really make an effort here. We had dinner with friends & didn't realize the band was playing so hard to hear conversation. The service was great & they made the salmon exactly as we wanted. Only problem - yes- wild salmon, but tasted a little mushy since must have been frozen. We should have realized. But everyone's food was good."

  • "A couple of 1st timers. Calamari with sliced peppers, as well as the prime rib dinner were equally tender & awesome!! We WILL be back!!"

  • "The website made everything look and sound so fabulous. It is really cute from the outside, but crowded and cramped on the inside. It's fixed up like an old style parlor. The food was okay, not very fresh. You could tell most of the items were frozen then cooked to order. Even the dessert cake had developed a hard coating like it had hung around a little too long, The mac & cheese was the best thing. Also, there was supposed to be live music but instead we got a C-List Dean Martin Impersonator. I had to send my mojito back because it wasn't made properly. Also, the lime garnish was so brown and slimy, it was obviously a few days old. The server did her best to accommodate us so I will give this place a few points for that."

  • "Nothing overdone...staff was very friendly..food was very good...it was just a solid night out and really good dinner...I had a rib eye which was done fine bit nothing over the top about it. If the choice is between fries and baked potato I would rather have my fries be crisp and be steak fries not mushy string type fries. And the music was better when motown was playing instead of in house singer...but all that said it was a solid night out and I would go back again but not out of my way to get there"

  • "The staff was very friendly and attentive. The complimentary garlic balls were amazing. The wedge salad, on the other hand, was pretty pitiful for $8. The lettuce was wilted and there was very little of it. The main course, however, was excellent. I had the 12-ounce prime rib. And although it was not the most tender and flavorful I have ever had, it was still very tasty. The baked potato was huge and came with generous amounts of both butter and sour cream. I'm not entirely sure what the vegetables were, but I enjoyed them. I was too full for dessert. The prices are definitely high. But I was really in the mood for prime rib."

  • "Our table was ready when we arrived, the service was great and the food was excellent. Portions were more than adequate and since we ordered 3 different entrees, we got to try each one. All dishes were amazing. Lovely room and friendly staff. Quick service and great coffee too. Staff was very attentive but not imposing, water glasses were filled promptly, orders were taken professionally and several staff members checked on us before, during and after the meal to see if everything was OK (it was) and if we wanted anything else (we did). Easy in and out for our mobility challenged guest also Great location and a fantastic place for a Saturday Lunch - forget going out for Sunday Brunch - you will enjoy the Saturday feast in leisure"

  • "This was our second trip to the Broadway Grill for Sunday brunch. While I noticed that they no longer advertize the Jazz Brunch, it was there all the same and we thoroughly enjoyed the music. We love the unique decor. It makes you feel as though you have stepped back in time and perhaps even traveled to the French Quarter. The food is delicious, the eggs/omelets are cooked to perfection, the bacon is crisp, and the waffle with sauteed strawberries and pecans will please anyone with a sweet-tooth. In both visits our waiters were attentive and made sure we got good value from our bottomless mimosas. Highly recommend to brunch lovers in range of this Bay Area gem."
    Dined on 3/16/2014
  • "Given they have to pay entertainers, food prices are reasonable. Drinks are overpriced, $3.00 coffee, $8.00 Kahlua shot. All you can drink Mimosas for $12 are reasonable"

  • "We decided to try Broadway Grill since we heard a few good review. We usually go to the House of Prime Rib in San Francisco, but too hard to get reservation and you usually have to wait an hour to be seated, even when you have made a reservation. Broadway Grill was slow for a Saturday evening. We had the prime rib, but it didn't live up to all the reviews. The prime rib had too much salt on the outer edge. We could only eat the center section and left the otter edges alone, where usually that we're all the great flavors are... Our waitress offer us a bowl of au jus to mask the salt flavor. We were amazed that the restaurant didn't offer us a new slice instead. Maybe it was just a bad night for them, a new chef or a bad restaurant."

  • "I went to celebrate a friend's birthday one afternoon. The salads and sandwiches are great there. The garlic butter mini rolls are a must. I go there just for the chopped salad but am shocked that it's now $17 - for a salad? It used to have grilled corn and when I asked the waiter doesn't it have corn he said no. Instead of offering to add corn (they have it on other menu items) I had to ask if he would kindly have them add it to the my salad. Also commented in my original Open Table reservation that it was a friend's birthday. I also called the restaurant to ask for something special for her birthday. Dessert came and went and nothing was ever brought out. Big disappointment."

  • "We went for a family dinner on a Friday night. All the steak choices are extremely flavorful and generous, but could be perceived as too salty or spicy for some. The jazz band played every Monday and Friday night, so be prepared for the music to fill the entire restaurant."

  • "Decided to dine here for a casual work party. Had a great time. live music was a great touch, food was great, specialty drinks were fun, service was great! We were all very happy."
    Dined on 3/1/2014
  • "The food was quite good, and the ambiance could be nice if they dimmed the lights a bit and the jazz band wasn't quite so loud. I liked the historic building--presumably an old bank, but the lights were very bright. They waitress was very friendly, but perhaps not very experienced as she did not ask us if we wanted to order cocktails, and asked if we wanted all of our food at once or in courses."

  • "Things have changed since our last dining experience here, most notably the prices! Host and wait staff could be more friendly. Very slow on refilling water glasses. As there were 11 of us, a range of entrees were selected. Pasta dishes and chicken dish were very good. Burgers were cumbersome and not cooked as ordered. For $16 to $18 a burger, I'm sure they are trying to give one their money's worth, but a smaller burger on a firmer bun with condiments on the side for $12 to $14 would improved the situation. Meatloaf was dry and not very plentiful. However, wedge salad was excellent, and caesar was large enough to share. Wine by the glass was reasonable, starting with a couple of choices for $7 and going up from there."

  • "Outstanding service, food was prepared just the way we wanted. Can't wait to go back for Monday Motown Night. Prices are comparable to other upscale restaurants. The quality of their food is excellent, lovely French rolls buttery&served warm, vegs. cooked just right. I have recommended this restaurant to friends for a nice evening out."

  • "The stage, room and entertainment make this L-O-U-D. But the service and the food were beyong good and damn near great. With a good attitude and a prejudice toward fun, the BG surprises me every time. I need to go more often."
    Dined on 2/18/2014
  • "This used to be my favorite place on Broadway. The ambiance and entertainment make it a "fun" place to go for dinner, and the food was always excellent. We had dinner on a recent Tuesday night and the food was barely edible. Hopefully this was just an "off night" and I am willing to give it one more chance: but beware."
    Dined on 2/18/2014
  • "We thought this was going to be a special occasion kind of restaurant from the description online, it was more a family type restaurant for locals. The food was good, however, it was pricey for not being a special occasion type of restaurant. The music was good, however, it appeared no one was enjoying the live music except for our table. The restaurant was loud with everyday chatter making it hard to enjoy the music. We don't think we would go back again."
    Dined on 2/15/2014
  • "The price of entrees is a little over priced. It appears that there was a recent price increase. Dinner prices seemed rather high."
    Dined on 2/16/2014
  • "I've dined here quite a few times before but it has been awhile. The menu prices are outrages for food that is adequate. $50 for a filet mignon at Broadway Grill is ridiculous. Two people in my party were going to share a salad before their entrees and the server informed us it would be $5.00 to split the salad. There are many better options at that price, I won't be returning to Broadway Grill."

  • "Not too fancy not too casual either. But I'd recommend it for some people who'd want a live band music in the background while dining. Great food, nice ambience and nice people. I would come back again."

  • "We went for brunch. The dinner menu is much better"

  • "Took an out of town guest here and was very disappointed. Broadway Grill 'updated' their menu, which seemingly resulted in lower quality food and preparations while hiking the prices sky high. First course-- Ordered the Organic Greens salad which was some scattered, old iceberg lettuce (part of which were brown and decayed, and I highly doubt organic. For my main course I ordered the Coho Salmon for $31. It was overcooked and was served skin side up, looking like it was simply dumped on top of some roasted potatoes and a few scattered vegetables. It seems like they have clearly lost their identity in the effort to raise the price of their menu items well beyond their worth. You have better choices elsewhere."
    Dined on 1/16/2014
  • "Did not make us feel special at all . They were out of baked potato out of soup no substitutions without rediculous charges. We are surprised by the music surcharge, and not even a cupcake to mark the occasion. It made me sad that I selected this for my family celebration."
    Dined on 1/11/2014
  • "We had the lamb and (apple smoked.mmm) pork chop. Both dishes and sides were very good and we would order these again. Little costly but for special occasion it is worth it. Banana pudding another plus!"
    Dined on 1/10/2014
  • "Just dined at Broadway Grill with the new menu. Very disappointed. Prices are sky-high (with an explanation on the menu that they are needed to cover the costs of higher-quality, more locally sourced and sustainable ingredients). Well, the ONLY justification a restaurant should be making for higher prices is an overall higher quality experience for the patron. Food was adequate; certainly not on par with other restaurants in a similar price range. Service was good for a restaurant at a much lower price-point - but completely inadequate for a $60-$90 per person experience. Wouldn't recommend."

  • "Had a friend staying in town at the Crowne Plaza; it was a quick taxi across the freeway. We went on Monday - Motown Night and pleasantly surprised by a show with our dinner. Great preformers in which engaged the customers and had wonderful voices."

  • "My husband and I have eaten a few previous times at the Broadway Grill and have been pleased with the experience. This visit, the bartender was friendly and fixed a good cocktail. The waiter seemed a little confused and slow. The food was not as good as we remembered it in past visits. The rainbow trout was not on the menu, which I really liked, but Steelhead Trout, which looks like and taste similar to salmon, was not at good. The steak prices seemed high, starting around $40 up. We intend to try the restaurant again, perhaps they just had an off night."

  • "What a gem of a place! My first time. I was told it was a bank, lovely ambience. Good food and service very attentive. A bit noisy if your looking for a quiet evening. We enjoyed the oldies but goodies playing in the background. Would love to have my 60th there."

  • "Went on a friday night and they had a band of 4 singers, 3 males and 1 female. sounded terrific and they sing all kind of music. on mondays, they do motown all night. i will be back, just for that. food is a bit pricey and the drinks average $10, so not cheap either. the two of us ordered 4 drinks, one appetizer and one salad that all totaled $100 with tip. like i said, not cheap. but worth the experience! definitely would go back, not every day but special occasions for sure."

  • "The restaurant was beautifully decorated with holiday lights inside and out. They had a singer for the evening who was very good. There was a good selection of soups, salads, entrees, and desserts. I had the prime rib and it came out cooked perfectly to my specification. This is a great place to dine during the holidays."

  • "I go to Broadway Grill several times in the year. Once a year we take a large group to help celebrate Christmas. We always go as a group on Motown Monday and the expeirence continues to be a blast. I highly recommend this place. Food is awesome, especially the rack of lamb."
    Dined on 12/16/2013
  • "Good ambiance. We had a very attentive, personable, and knowledgeable waitress. Prime rib and steaks were done correctly and were very tender. Large portions of side dinner salads. Can probably split with 2 to 3 people. Clam chowder was salty and did not come with crackers. Will definitely come back again."

  • "The entertainment by Dean Martin impersonator was truly great!"
    Dined on 12/11/2013
  • "food and service was great. They let us get steaks off of the dinner menu for hungry meat-eaters! Nothing really came with the steaks--all al la carte. Veggies or garlic mash should be standard. Fish dishes were perfecto as were the appetizers! We all said we would love to come back!"
    Dined on 12/11/2013
  • "This was our first visit to the Broadway Grill and we had an excellent dinner. The holiday decor was festive and we enjoyed the Dean Martin impersonator roaming the restaurant."

  • "I found Broadway Grill on Open Table and enjoyed my dining experience EXCEPT the singer was smoking during the time he performed and the volume was too loud to have a pleasant conversation."

  • "The food here was excellent. The vibe, and ambience was perfect for a Thanksgiving dinner for a family of five. We had reservations for 8:15 and arrived at 7:30. However, they were able to sit us shortly after we arrived. We have picky eaters in our family and everyone was able to find something on the menu to suit their palates. I had the prime rib, double cooked, and it was done to perfection. I most certainly will go here again."
