Went to Broadway Grill to celebrate our anniversary. We had a great time with the band and singers and they kept us very entertained. For the price of their prime rib and rib-eye and quality, I definitely would not order that again as the meat was very chewy and did not have enough flavor. We did enjoy their appetizers though. Overall, they get a 4 star from us for their wonderful service and entertainment and just a 2 star for their prime rib and rib-eye steak. We will go back in the future, but will try something different from their menu.

We had eaten at Broadway Grill many years ago and were not impressed. But, because of a Groupon we decided to try it again. This time everything was outstanding. In making the reservation we requested a downstairs table near a window and that is where we were seated. Tracy did any excellent job of taking care of us. Ceasar salad and clam chowder were outstanding, as were the salmon and prime rib entrees. We are very happy to have a neighborhood restaurant that we would return to.

  • Great for dinner, poor breakfast

Good and lively dinner spot. Went with extended family on a Sunday morning, though. Restaurant was empty on Sunday until after 11. Not horrible, but dull takes on omelets with uninspired, overcooked ingredients. Omelets that had cheese on top had melted *squares* of pre-sliced cheese. It didn't affect the taste (which was overcooked and mediocre), but the presentation with a couple of runny squares is low-end. There are cheap breakfast restaurants in Millbrae or on California Ave that do a much better breakfast, albeit with less attractive surroundings. I don't fault the staff, who are all very good. But clearly breakfast is not a priority there. Few choices, and amateur results. Stick with dinner, which as I said, is very good.

  • Flatiron Steak delicious!
    MonkuVIP
    Dined on 7/31/2014
The Flatiron Steak was perfectly seasoned for my taste; ordered it medium rare but unfortunately only the first slice met that criteria; the rest was medium. Butr, it was tasty and tender. I recommend skipping the Monterey Bay Calamari appetizer; it was over-breaded and that over-whelmed the dish as well & resulted in a lot of sogginess as time passed. Not notable at all. My friend had the short ribs which we found a bit dry and lacking in salt. He did enjoy the mashed potatoes. The service was very good... I have to add that I was late for my reservation as I ended up on Burlingame Ave instead of Broadway and could not find the restaurant.. I called to let them know I would be late and they graciously held the table for me...

I have dined at Broadway Grill several times. The atmosphere is very nice. There is live music, nice and not annoying. From Appetizers to Desserts, there is a great selection to choose from. I have always had a fantastic meal here. The service is fantastic. James, the General Manager, is there to add a personal touch and make sure things are running smoothly. Broadway Grill has been one of my favorite dining places and I will continue to eat here.

Food and service good. Priced right for brunch. The live music ruined our father's day adventure. So loud couldn't hear myself think, let alone carry on conversation. Requested and were reseated ion the second floor where the sound was a tad softer only to be all but forgotten by the wait-person. Did request they turn the sound down a tad. First told that it was loud to cover the din of diners, then told that their system wasn't working. Would have been alright if we were there for drinking and grooving to the music. For brunch it was a bust. Not do that again.

In my party of three, two of us were gluten free. We were given many options. We each ordered something different and sampled each other's. All of the food was heavenly! The shepherd's pie was the best I'd ever tasted! The prime rib was outstanding. The trout was delicious. The portions were humongous, but it all tasted so good we stuffed ourselves. We did manage to take home one small portion of shepherd's pie, but only because we were too stuffed to take another bite. Seriously good food. I'm glad I don't go often, only because my waistline would completely disappear. ... Also, the live music was lovely. All-in-all ... It was a wonderful dining experience!

Any time someone comes to town or we want to celebrate a birthday, Broadway Grill and their fabulous dinner and music formula brings us back again and again! The service is always great, the menu is spotty and food must be selected carefully...do not order anything with chicken. Not their forte> But regardless Motown Monday and the inspiration of Preston and his incredible live band, Pure Ecstasy make this the top dining destination on Peninsula. Who else can pack a place on a Monday Night? I give the owners so much credit for supporting this and making music a part of our lives and dining experience.

We tried the Mother's Day Brunch and it was disappointing. Menu wasn't very exciting and the restaurant is too small to set up adequate brunch area where people aren't lined up next to people dining. The Jazz music and open windows with fresh air was wonderful. We would come back to order off the regular menu.

We use to dine at the Broadway grill once or twice a month. We stopped at the beginning of the year as they had drastically changed their menu and dramatically raised their prices. So, last Friday we decided to give them another try. We were surprised to see that the menu had changed drastically again this time offering a lot of burger choices beside grill and seafood. The prices were back to normal too. We had reservations at 6pm and there was no one there. Their menu changes obviously cost them. However, by 7:30 when we left, most of the tables were full. Our dinner was very good - old fashion meatloaf! If you had stopped dining there too, give them another try. They did listen to their customers!

We had a gift certificate so we tried it. We had the prime rib 9 oz dinner. We shared a Caeser. It was satisfactory. The meat was good perfect medium rare, but my piece was very fatty and gristly. I took all those pieces home to the dogs. They were delighted. The jazz combo was good, but too loud.

Our family had a gift certificate for this restaurant, so reservations were made. We went for an early Sunday dinner, to allow for an early workday on Monday. We were surprised by the décor, lots of wood and wrought iron rails. Beautiful linen table settings. Everyone was working to prepare for the dinner crowd. I noticed that other family's came in and the booths were great for private seating. The before dinner drinks were excellent. The chopped salad was spectacular and the prime rib, steak and hamburger were all cooked as ordered. The vegetables and potatoes were fresh and excellently cooked as well. There was some musicians that came in to play Jazz for later diners, and we were able to catch a few tunes. Great ambiance.
