  • "Brizola is an upscale restaurant in the Greektown Casino. The food and service was excellent. We had 2 issues. First, the aroma of cigarette smoke, drifting in from the casino, was annoying. Second, we booked through Open Table for Restaurant Week. When we arrived we were told that Brizola was NOT participating this year. How did this error occur? According to our waiter, a bad link from Google. My issue is that I specifically mentioned in booking that this was for Rest Week and the restaurant could/should have called and told us. We were not the only ones,also according to the waiter, & were offered a modified Rest Wk menu, but with fewer options, which did not satisfy most of our table. We spent far more than we had planned."

  • "From the Front desk to the back room it is always top rate. Continues to maintain the position overall of one of the Best in Metro Detroit. Would like to see a Valet Scanner outside the entry door to Brizola to reduce the Excessive wait after dining and then picking up your vehicle."

  • "Easy to use iPad menu. Nice contemporary ambiance. Good salad selection and flavorful. House wine selections all had good flavor. Ordered chicken. 2 pieces came on the plate. Breast (moist and flavorful) and thigh (fatty and greasy). At $30, for just a plate of meat, I expect better quality than what was served. Very disappointed. Didn't order dessert."

  • "Overall I had high expectations for Brizola. The menu looked high-end (delivered on a tablet/iPad) and the prices indicated what to expect (high end food and service). Unfortunately, the food was just OK. I had the Kobe strip which was good- not great. It was like any other piece of meat. The sides were nothing special- steamed vegetable- broccoli and green beans. No real flair. Consequently, I wouldn't spend the time to go back... Much prefer Ocean Prime, Capital Grill, and/or Ann Arbor Chop house..."

  • "We arrived early for the reservation, about 20 minutes and were told we would be sat at our exact time, which is fine. We left and went to the casino bar for a drink. When we came back, we were made to wait another 10 mins while they "prepared" our table. It took another 10 minutes before we got our menus and another 5 minutes before the waiter took our drink order.... As you can see the theme of the night was wait, wait, wait. The food was decent, even with the appetizer mess up, but the overall impression of the restaurant was poor. The meal took 2 and a half hours not because we were lingering over our meal, but because the service was incredibly slow. I expect better service and great food for the price of the meal we received."

  • "I was called earlier in the day of my reservation to confirm my request of a private table of to the the side was able to be accomidated. I thought that was outstanding. When I arrived with my date we sat at the bar for about 30 min., they were slow and the bartender could not remember our drinks. At first it was kinda funny but after awhile it became anoying. When we were seated it was not the table the confirmed with me earlier in fact it was on the other side of the resturant. The other tables were open the entire time. The waiter was friendly but not very efficient. The steaks were very good but the sides and apitizers were very poor. I made the reservation here for a first date and wish I could do it all over again. Not a good choice!"

  • "I go out to dinner very often. Seated quickly, but then no one came to the table for 5-7 minutes although restaurant was not busy. First glass of wine brought out was from a long opened bottle by taste. New bottle of same wine was much better. Food was under cooked across the board, both my steak and my guests scallops. Rib-eye ordered Medium was red and raw in the middle, Scallops ordered medium plus, were still translucent and not easily cut with a fork. Management was not apologetic to mistake. Our server was good. Hostess personnel was not accommodating to table location request, again even though the restaurant was not very busy that evening. Overall the food, service, and hospitality was sub-par, let alone matching the price."

  • "My fiancé and I were told from a friend that Brizola was overrated, but we don't listen to what others have to say, we judge for ourselves. We went on 3/22/14 (Saturday) I have to say from the food, to the decor to the ambience everythjng was superb. The noise was moderate and I can actually hear my fiancé talking. TOM LUKASIK was our waiter. He is phenomenal!! Tom is very knowledgable. We will definitely be back and will always recommend Tom as our waiter."

  • "On the road from good to best. Initially seated across from loud noise from bar area. Staff immediately repositioned at request and advised a happy hour event. Staff should have selected one of the many open tables at first seating. A steak was brought to the table rare though medium was ordered. Upon acknowledgement by wait staff both meals were replaced. As well as side dishes. Nice touch. The second steak still too rare but acceptable. We declined an offer for complimentary desert for the inconvenience. Summary. Another visit is worthy but not another steak."

  • "I hate to base a rating off of service because every server is different but our service was horrible. It is the same at many "fine dining" restaurants though, the waiter/waitress sees a young couple and ignores them because they do not expect a decent tip, I always tip 20%+ because I know what it is like to wait tables. This restaurant was no exception we waited on our server to come to us for a good portion of our meal, it got to the point my husband went to the bar to get us drinks but "the bar can not serve to tables". Very disapointed for the money we payed."

  • "I was excited that Greektown added a fine dining restaurant but I was highly disappointed with my visit and most of all our service! After being seated are table was not fully set and we waited entirely too long for our waitress and even longer for water! Are server was almost nonexistent. When are meals were finally served after far too long all of our order did not even come out! My husband Never received the asparagus he orders and the lobster Mac did not come until end of meal! No apologies. Nice try Geeektown but I will be taking the cab ride to Iridescence at Motor City where you can find a REAL fine dining restaurant where they understand what level of food and service are required for a FD establishment!!"

  • "I invited my mother to join me for dinner at Brizola's. My mom ordered the Salmon and I ordered the Lamb Chop... And I must say the Lamb Chop was very tender and flavorful. .. I tried a small piece of my mother's Salmon and it melted in mouth... It was so good...I have already told several friends about Greektown's newest restaurant. ...I will visit again real soon..."

  • "The restaurant staff is friendly and very competent. Dinner took too long 1 hour 45 minutes. Our food was fair, not excellent as I expected. We had scallops, steak, risotto, lobster macaroni, asparagus, and ox tail soup. The risotto and macaroni had way too much butter and cheese. We ended up not eating it. The scallops didn't have much flavor and the steak had a burned/crisp surface. Grilled mushrooms were good. Won't eat there again."

  • "We had reservations for 6:00, but we got there early, and were hungry. We asked Diamond at the reception desk if we could be seated early (5:10) and she quickly replied no we would have to wait until our reservation time. We came back at 6:00 to find the restaurant 1/3 full. Why couldn't we have been seated early? However, after the bumpy start things smoothed out. Filets were the best my wife and I have ever eaten. Literally they could be cut with a fork. Lobster tails were also excellent, as was the salad, and all the sides. Tom Lukasik was our waiter and was phenomenal. We enjoyed the food and service much more than Ruth's Chris which we had frequented recently. This place is too good to just visit on special occasions."

There was nothing bad I could say about the night, service was excellent, food was superb, and the staff was very attentive. I would recommend this for anyone who wants to take their significant other out to have a great night out in Downtown Detroit. (21 and up only)."

  • "Great evening with all elements in place including a red rose for the ladies! No issues with food or service but here is how to improve this restaurant: 1) needs its own entrance so that you don't have to walk through SMOKY casino 2) needs its own restrooms inside the restaurant so you don't have to walk back out through SMOKY casino 3) needs better ventilation system so you don't have to smell SMOKY casino during your wonderful dinner. Great decor, nice spacing between tables so you can have a private conversation. Food was delicious and served hot and with a smile."

  • "We were tardy to our reservation, but they were still very accommodating. We did call 1.5hrs ahead of time. The food and service was excellent!!! Ashley was our server, and she was very pleasant and timely. My husband and I both had steak and potatoes with the French onion soup, and needless to say it was very tasty. The restaurant is inside of the casino, which was very crowded and smokey, but once your inside Brizola you totally forget about being inside a casino. We will be back for more!"

  • "Food took a very long time to come out. The server was very slow to take our order and most of the employee's didn't seem to care to much to be there. The filet mignon was cooked close to specifications but not perfect; neither was the taste. The steak just tasted bland as well as the lobster tail. It wasn't worth the money. However, the wine specialist their was very amazing and helped guide us to a very nice wine that we did enjoy."
