We would have to ask her over and over and over to refill our drinks instead of her taking that upon her self. She disappeared for 25minutes! Thank goodness the hostess and the food were great or I would never come back."

  • "avoid the bacon - on the salad and in the mac and cheese - as it is so undercooked that it is almost unrecognizable as bacon. service was poor - waitress not friendly and not familiar with the menu. drinks were promised to be exceptional and were average. fish and chips were ok, nothing great. burger so bad our friend only ate half. very disappointing as we had heard good things about Brix. we would not go back."

  • "Fabulous breakfast. The applewood smoked salmon eggs Benedict was amazing! They really treated us well and the service was superb. Bloody's were stunning and came with a fresh mozzarella ball. On top of all this it was my mothers 70th and they brought her a little treat to help celebrate"

  • "The music was loud, made it hard to visit. We were there for Father's Day so we wanted to be able to visit. We were told we were going to get a round table, but were seated at a very small table for 6 adults. We asked to move, and that was much better. We had Amelia as our sever and she was great and accommodating. The doughnuts with the raspberry lemon on top was a great starter. All of our orders were excellent. I would go back again, but make sure that there was no live music for my visit!"

We were also able to get a seat outside which made it perfect. However, our server was very slow. Forgot to bring utensils even after we asked, and our order of extra donuts were forgotten until we reminded again."

Our server was super friendly and helped us narrow down their menu based on our appetites and plans for the rest of the night. In the end we selected two fantastic hot sandwiches and decided on the spot that we were going to come back soon with visiting friends and family to try some of the wide variety of cocktails, wine and food featured on their menu. Looking forward to our next visit."

  • "Discovered Brix Tavern when a friend suggested them for brunch, and enjoyed it so much I introduced a friend to it a week later. The food was great and the menu has some really interesting options for brunch like the Southern Benedict which was amazing. Plus the $9 bottomless mimosas with brunch is a great deal, and the service is so attentive your glass won't go empty. Brix is one of those spots that just feels like home."

  • "Had Mothers Day brunch here and had a great experience, so returned for my wife's birthday dinner, including my 10-year-old son. Wanted good food and service for my wife and I, without being too stuffy or goody for my son. Brix was ideal. I had beet salad and the ahi tuna, my wife had a steak, and my son loved the tavern platter. There was a private event group that dominated the back, but the noise level was fine. We will return soon. "

  • "My prom group of 21 people went to Brix this year and it was fantastic! Our server was friendly, split our checks without hesitation or reluctancy (we all know how often that is not the case at other restaurants!) and even brought us crayons to draw on the table cloth. The little buttery garlic rolls served were delicious, our dinners were all delicious (that's, another thing to praise - last year our large group was limited to a menu of 6 items, but Brix allowed us to choose anything from their menu!) and our water cups never went dry. I can't even complain about the 18% gratuity requirement because I would have tipped that much anyway! Once again, if you're going to prom and need somewhere to eat, I highly recommend Brix Tavern."

  • "Second attempt at this place and again it fell short. After waiting 15 minutes for drinks, I approached the waitress. Five minutes later, still nothing, so had to enlist the help of the front desk person. It was then, on the way to the bathroom, that I noticed the waitress was tucked around the corner, texting on her phone. When the food finally did arrive, I was delivered the wrong meal. A disappointment. Can't imagine this place will last much longer with that sort of consistent service, as the first time there was barely better."

This time around it was seafood sausage (among many sausages) and if that sounds incredibly bad, well...it was. Just awful. Don't even have the creative juices to describe it. Bring it back to what you're good at, Brix, and that ain't it."

  • "The host staff was the worst I have ever experienced. We made reservations and they sat us 20 mins past out reservation time. That would have been acceptable but they never once communicated why it was taking so long while pleasantly communicating with other gusts as to when they would be seated. When we finally did asked them what the hold up was they responded with nothing but attitude. If gratuity wasn't added I would not have tipped. Don't think I will be going back there again!"

  • "Carly, our server was great. The place was packed and she never missed a beat. The place is very loud (it's a bar, so you would expect that). It's fairly pricey, so you would expect the food to be a little better. The food wasn't bad. It was just mediocre. 4 of us at the table and both couples ordered the trio of beef. With drinks and tip we spent about $230. We have also gone there for breakfast. We enjoyed breakfast more."

  • "Our family of five (adult children) enjoy meeting in Portland for family meals and special occasions. Chose Brix for Easter brunch which turned out to be an excellent choice. Although we had to wait a bit past our reservation time, the service was friendly and attentive and the food was fabulous. Smoked cheddar and cream cheese scrambled eggs, ham, and salmon were to die for. We have already recommended it to several friends. Will definitely be dining here again!"

Couldn't even cut the turkey. Should have sent it all back!! One man on the guitar and it was so loud we couldn't even talk to each other. They've lost a great crew."

  • "This is a great place for brunch, and I think many don't think of it as such... there was no wait!! I've been twice two weekends in a row, once around 2pm (just in time for brunch!) and once around 10am. The acoustics were a little loud, or "lively", but the food was great, service was good, and the complimentary warm donuts?! Hard to beat that :) I'm definitely coming back again, and my friends said the same thing!"

I think my favorites were the coffee cake and eggs benedict serve on polenta, but everything I tasted was truly to die for! The ambience was great. The dinig area was well lit and festively decorated. The music was at just the right level, and very soothing. Definitely the right way to start our Easter day festivities off and I really hope we get to return soon!"

  • "This was the first time we've been to Brix for an Easter Brunch. The set up for the Buffet was extremely organized, well-positioned, frequently checked/changed for the freshest offerings, and immensely tasty. There was a very satisfying assortment of dishes that were offered. Also, having the dessert table separate from the other food was a wise decision. Our server, Kayla, was as friendly, helpful and knowledgeable as she's always been! In fact, all the servers seemed to be in very good spirits------adding to the holiday dining experience!!! Thank you for making our special time just that-------SPECIAL!! "
