  • "Bristol's is one of my favorites! The food is great and the ambience is even better! Everyone will love this restaurant and the service is awesome."

  • "I made reservations for 10 and was happy to find that they set us up in a private room. This was a client dinner so having the ability to talk easily without a lot of extraneous noise was perfect. Our waiter was great -- very attentive and personable."

  • "Sign up for the email list...they send great deals on food and drink. Had the grilled chicken, grits, and asparagus and the meal was fantastic! Very fresh and well prepared. Friend had the Bouillabaisse and it was very well done. Atmosphere was nice...lighting seemed a bit dark until our eyes adjusted, but very pleasant and relaxing!"

  • "We ate here the Saturday after the 4th of July. It was quiet, which we were hoping for, and we were able to dine on the patio. It's a great space and it's covered. We started with strawberry pistachio salads and each of us ordered off the fresh fish menu. I had wahoo and my companion had swordfish. Fish was delicious as were the sides. My companion had the grits and loved them. He also loved the carrot cake. I had the key lime pie. Yum. They have a lot of nice bottles of wine which are pretty reasonable and wines by the glass have options for pour size. Service was excellent, friendly but professional. There is valet parking if that interests you."

  • " Lobster Cobb Salads were superb entrees. Generous, tender lobster meat amid a delicious assortment of tender salad greens . The buttermilk dressing was the perfect compliment. As it was Happy Hour we ordered four appetizer lobster claws to be served with our entrees. You can never have too much lobster, especially when it is cooked to perfection! Be sure to try the signature cocktail ,White Manhattan."

  • "Went for Fathers Day Brunch. It was our first time at the Bristol in the Power and Light District. We arrived and were seated right away. We loved all the seafood. The brunch was really good and would recommend it to anyone. Thank you for a good time"

  • "We have been to the Bristol many times, but this is the first time we sat outside. It was a very enjoyable evening. We watched the people come and go, the service was good and the food was very good."

  • "Went for dinner before a show. The service was outstanding and the Sockeye salmon was incredable. It was early so they were not very busy yet. The white Manhattan was different and very tasty."

  • "I just added a quick note to the restaurant when booking my table, that it was our 10th anniversary we'd be celebrating, and it'd be awesome to have a chilled bottle of champagne ready. Within 30 minutes, I had received a call back from the hostess and selected the champagne. When we arrived, it was a total surprise for my wife, and Bristol had went above and beyond. In addition to the champagne, they'd hand-written a lovely card (which included a complimentary dessert) and decorated the table with heart confetti. I couldn't have asked for more, and they totally redeemed me for not getting a card myself!!"

  • "Celebrated my Birthday and at was awesome. The lobster bisque was wonderful I wanted more. The biscuits were to die for. The seafood was the best I've had in awhile. I usually eat at Bonefish for special occasions but this is my new. Favorite place."

  • "We went to Bristol for their Sunday brunch and arrived about 30 min after they opened. Only a few other people were there, but by the time we left the place was just about full. This brunch is perfect for people like me who don't really care for breakfast food. They had so much to choose from. The seafood was very impressive and our favorite. We were both disappointed with the prime rib though, it looked fantastic, but was tough and lacked flavor. A few of the foods did taste quite bland, but overall we were pleased. The service was wonderful and the employees appeared to genuinely be happy and very friendly. Really felt the brunch was a great value for $25 as well as amazing Bloody Mary's for $4.5!"

  • "There were four of us dining for my wife and my 11th anniversary. The soup and salads were great. The main courses were served and my steak looked great. Three of us received a super-great, wonderful meal. A very good friend order little neck clams. She was served mussels first and they replaced it with cherrystone clams. When she asked the waiter he was not sure what to say but he took them back and said he would get it corrected again. The manager came and said the clams were what their supplier gave them for little necks but she would check with the supplier. My point to this is why doesn't the Chef and/or manager know the difference or was she lying to us?"

  • "This place seems to be on a bit of a decline for consistency, quality and service. The good news is 801 Fish is here in KC now (Leawood), but I would like to see Bristol get it together and remain an option for my dining. I am not completely turned away at this point, but I have opted for other places after getting burned here a few times. The cost is too high to have a sub par experience."

  • "We celebrated our wedding anniversary at Bristol and had a memorable time. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They left a hand written congratulations note on our table and offered us either a complementary champagne or a dessert. We opted for the famous carrot cake and were not disappointed. You've GOT to try the carrot cake. I have NEVER had such a fabulous cake before. Our seafood was excellent; fresh, very tasty and prepared just right. Scallops were tasty. Waitress helped us select a very nice red wine that we really enjoyed. We also loved the ambiance; very "up-town". Also had live music -- an excellent guitarist and singer which added a very special overtone to the entire evening. I would highly recommend it."

  • "I ordered the Tuna nicoise and it was not cooked and not at all seared. It was almost as if the the tuna filet was pulled out of the refrigerator rolled in spices and thrown on the salad. When I informed the server that the tuna was ice cold, he responded by saying "sorry" and then he gave me the bill for the meal that was unfit to eat."

  • "Our favorite menu item is the crab cakes! This is the best place in town to get them, and we come here when we're in the mood. Love to celebrate special birthdays with our family as well."

  • "If the prices on the menu concern you more than the food you are looking to order, the Bristol is not the place for you. If, however, you are looking for an exceptional culinary experience in the heart of Kansas City then add the Bristol to your list of “Must Go’s”. Great food, great service, great location, need I say anything more?"

  • "It wasn't a special occasion but thought it would be a special way to enjoy one of my days off. The brunch was wonderful and different! Lots of seafood that I love and prime rib, ham and all the usual fixings for breakfast....Nice for a special day too!!!!"

  • "We sat on the patio and enjoyed a delightful dinner before a Kansas City Symphony concert at the Kauffman Center. The drinks were perfect and the food wonderful. The setting made us feel like we were on vacation. And our server did a great job getting us to the performing arts center in good time. Even the valets were welcoming and pleasant."

  • "Food was incredible. We both had fish salmon and grouper and it was all cooked superbly. So good I get tired of eating out at other places and my food at home is better. That wasnt the case here. The fish was cooked to perfection and the waiter suggested the best ways to have it cooked. You always have wild caught options which are fantastic. I love the emails you send they are very informative about specials like the Copper River Salmon which was superbly cooked even with the restaurant completely full with a waiting line. Awesome place!!!"

  • "I have been to this Bristol and other locations and had no issues. This evening was a date night with my wife and no kids. We were disappointed with our experienc, however our waitress was great. When we arrived, with our open table reservation, they were still running 10-15 minutes behind. I have never had that happen with an opentable reservation. We were seated in a nice booth, in the bar area. They seemed rushed; the food came out within 5-7 minutes, the waitress apologized. Both the chicken and the salmon were well under cooked. I hate returning food and rarely have something undercooked. The waitress bought us desserts instead of reducing the total bill. I think the chef felt bad since he delivered the rest of our meal."

  • "Food was excellent. Good portions fair prices. Quick service but not rushed. Tables were a little close and noise level was a bit high to be a romantic dining experience. We plan to celebrate our anniversary here every year!"

  • "I live 1:30 minutes from Kansas City and have been going to the Bristol for over 10 years. I have tried other seafood restaurants, but none compare to the service, and quality of the Bristol. You will never be disappointed with thecBristol. "

  • "My wife and I enjoyed her birthday dinner at Bristol's. The food was great, even when we did not care for the preparation of the sides we ordered, the staff was gracious in replacing the items without hesitation. The staff acknowledged her birthday and set up the table with a decorations and a personalized card. Also, the waiter helped with a small birthday surprise for my wife. We enjoyed our evening and will return soon!"

  • "There were three of us and we all enjoyed our lunch very much which consisted of 3 different fish entrees and the delicious grits. I did comment that it seemed really dark in the restaurant which was strange since it was noon when we arrived. I would have appreciated a little more lighting to help read the menu! I was surprised that they were not very busy on a Friday for lunch."
