  • "For a special occasion, we dined at Bristol. The menu for seafood is extensive. Both entrees (Monchong and Crab cakes) were outstanding. We each had risotto and asparagus with it and they were delicious as was the Lobster Bisque soup. It is a little pricey so it is more of a special occasion restaurant although a $25 email birthday coupon made it very reasonable."

  • "We were seated in the "west dining room." We were the only guests seated in it for the entire hour. We noticed that much of the bar chatter was coming through as well as the clash and bang of the bar kitchen. For one couple it felt isolating. We will ask to be seated in the main dining room from now on. Nevertheless, the food and service was great. I had the sock-eye salmon with the mustard cream sauce. Delicious. My husband had the cowboy ribeye (as usual) and this time ordered it with NO seasoning. He said it was great. The last time he had the seasoning on it and did not like it. And I had my annual Highland Park scotch which cost more than my dinner, but was worth it! We joined the Privileged diner's club, very nice perk."

  • "The food is very good - the wine is very pricey ($33 for a $13 bottle of chardonnay). My dining companion made it very clear on dietary restrictions. We received a side dish that was supposedly a "double serving" which was very disappointing. As a party planner, I ensure that each guest's meal looks like a full meal, regardless of it's content. The server got "my message" and went back to the kitchen to return an entrée dish with additional food. It was disappointing that a manager - or a kitchen exec - didn't come out to the table to apologize. Otherwise the rating would be much higher. People pay for service along with taste."

  • "I specifically mentioned in my reservaion with you that it was my 80th birthday. The waiter even mentioned it. However I received nothing from management such as the free dessert until I was leaving the restaurant and noticed a card by the cashier that said "Happy Birthday Thank you for spending your special day with us. Please enjoy a complimentary dessert." I wonder if I should have gotten this on the table or by the waiter or when I left for the next time I came to the restaurant. Food was very good and the Early Bird Special is a good deal. We did not know about it but were able to take advantage of it because we came to the restaurant while it was still available. I will come again but will make sure it is for the Early Bird Special."

Jeff knows his drinks, menu, and his job. 5 stars all the way around Asked for a gin I just discovered and he knew right away it had just been added. Presented all options to our first time to Bristol elegantly yet with a friendly, cordial manner. The cold shellfish platter was smartly presented and each item perfectly prepared. All entrees were perfect and even the sushi which is tough at a non-sushi place. Nick the manager stopped by to welcome us and later for a quality assurance check. Our guests were delighted and talked about coming back another time soon. No place is perfect and we appreciate that Bristol has become consistently good, and seeks to make it right if not."

  • "We've eaten at Bristol's often before. It is one of the few places for decent seafood in St. Louis. This time we took guests for Sunday brunch, one of whom was in a wheel chair. The buffet line was wheelchair inaccessible. However, the staff mitigated that nicely. They helped us get the chair down the steps prior to dining and back up the steps when it was time to go. We were put at the closest table to the buffet line with easy rolling access. Our servers went above and beyond ensuring that we had access to everything, making any physical challenges negligible. The food was very good, as usual, and because of the attentive service, we were able to enjoy it to the fullest."

  • "I took a girl on our first date here and was very impressed with the service, food selection and ambiance. We had to wait a few minutes past our reservation time in the bar area, it was loud and noisy there and a little hard to hold a conversation, but once we were seated at our table, the noise level was much reduced and very conducive to a romantic dinner and great conversation. Food was excellent except for the biscuits, they were a little hard, but I had the ahi tuna and my date had crab cakes, both were outstanding! Highly recommend! Just skip the biscuits. :)"

  • "We were celebrating our 22nd anniversary prior to going to the James Taylor concert. It was our first "date" night in six months. Our waiter was terrific. He even sent us home with a special box of cookies and nice sized cut of carrot cake for two. I had surf & turf [filet & lobster] which were outstanding. The flavor in the filet was delicious. My wife had the evening's special Red Salmon which she politely devoured. Their signature crab cakes tee'd up our dinner and I also had their calamari which I can't get enough of. Fortunately for us, the food comes so quickly otherwise we would gorge ourselves on their awesome biscuits which miraculously continue to appear on your bread plate as soon as it's empty.
