Diner Reviews
  • "Terrific view of commons and always very wonderful service"
    Dined on 4/12/2014
  • "We had a very nice, although pricey, dinner which for the most part was just as expected. We had a great table facing the park, good food (although the short ribs fell a little short), nice expensive wine and great atmosphere. The biggest issue I had with the evening was that our server was terrible. No personality, not particularly nice, not very inviting or informative and barely checked on us. It really ruined the evening. Why would such a well-renowned restaurant employ someone like this? Had we had a better server, especially for a special occasion, which the restaurant knew about, I would have rated it higher. I don't think restaurants realize the importance of good service - reputation doesn't always hold them up!"

  • "The Four Seasons does not disappoint, especially with their Sunday brunch buffet...delicious prime rib carving station, french toast bread pudding and many other highlights...also had an entire table of gluten free options which was a welcome surprise for my wife...all in all, a fantastic brunch, would highly recommend!"

  • "Overpriced for quality of food but serving size was good. nice quiet comfortable seating but nothing special."

  • "Trying to find a nice dinner at the last minute before going to the Colonial up the street. Bristol Lounge in the Four Seasons was a lucky find. The martinis were great. The food was great. The view of the Garden was a nice treat. And the walk to the theater was short. Service was timely; our waiter paid attention to the time and got our bill to us without us having to chase him. It's not an inexpensive place to eat. But we don't go to the theater every week. One downer: asked for a window but they wouldn't give one to us but we were a couple and it was set for four. But NO ONE sat there all the time we were eating. It was still untouched when we were leaving."

  • "Had a great family celebration. Everything was outstanding ! Thank you Bristol Lounge Team."

  • "Went for lunch after the flower show. seating was very uncomfortable. VERY NOISY. Burger was excellent!!!"

  • "We love the Bristol Lounge. The food and the service are always outstanding! The fresh cod was light and oh so tasty."

  • "When my office was in Back Bay, I was at the Bristol Lounge once a week. The bar staff was always friendly, the whiskey was a steak house pour, which it should be for $12. And the ambiance was pleasant, not a meat market bar scene. A mixture of local business people and well heeled tourists engaging in conversation. Lately, I get there only once a quarter. It is still delightful, the staff very attentive. One of my group noticed that her cell phone had died, and she only had the usb cord. The wait staff noticed this and took care of it. It always seems that they can never do enough. It is that high level of service that keep me coming back, along with the food and wine list"

  • "Sandwich prices, some served with only a side of potato chips, are ridiculous. $25 for a reuben-are you kidding me!!"
    Dined on 3/10/2014
  • "Table was so dark spilled a drink and could not read the menu - no light! We asked to be moved but it took so much time to get that done and seemed to confuse everyone. Just put a light/votive on the table for goodness sake! We were going to theater so we wasted too much time having to ask 2-3 times to be moved or get some light!"
    Dined on 3/8/2014
  • "Thank you for accommodating our open table request. The food, service and experience were exceptional."

  • "I was hoping that this would be a great day. A las it was ruined by a waiter that tried to get one over on my mom. The waiter claimed to have run the credit card several times. Upon calling the bank, the confirmed that it was only authorized once for more than the bill amount. Then the waiter went to the bar to get an additional $100 from my dad. It was fixed in the end. My mom said to forget about it, but I can't."

  • "If you love a good steak, definitely try the bone in rib-eye. It was one of the best steaks my husband has ever had. The infamous Bristol Burger was delicious as well- definitely lived up to its reputation."

  • "We sat next to the fireplace for a very romantic evening. The service as a bit spotty for the Four Seasons."
    Dined on 2/15/2014
  • "The luncheon with my wife was very enjoyable as usual. The Golden Nantucket Chowder is a definite must try to start the meal. As always our meals were prepared exactly as we ordered. The bartender made me a Pear Martini that was delicious and our waiter was excellent. We can not wait to travel into Boston again and enjoy the scenery from the Bristol Lounge."
    Dined on 2/14/2014
  • "Best martini in Boston easily. It's like liquid glass... in a glass. Perfectly mixed. The bartender was prompt and the ambience was perfect. Can't say enough about the Bristol Lounge"
    Dined on 2/10/2014
  • "I treated my mom to dinner at the Bristol lounge. It met my expectations- upscale, not "too stuffy" and the food was beyond my expectations. The chowder was absolutely delicious along with the rest of the meal (loved the cauliflower gratin) and the boston cream pie was decadent- not too sweet, just right. Portions were on the smaller size but I prefer that. All around a great dining experience. It's pricey but worth it especially for special occasions... or special people (like my mom)."

  • "Breakfast was wonderful.. I had the blueberry pancakes, and my wife had eggs over easy. Service was prompt and very professional."

  • "We felt like home, great service, food was delicious. Very intimate setting"

  • "Such a wonderful way to spend a Sunday!! Bristol Lounge continues to be one of my favorite spots for a special brunch -- delicous food, beautiful atmosphere, and a view so lovely overlooking Boston's Public Garden! The service started a bit slow - once our server came for coffee, we lost him for 20 min. We needed to flag down a secondary staff member to order a bloody mary! Once we were settled, everyone was very attentive (others were helping our server), so the day was a winner. Food was very good - especially the French Toast Bread Pudding... a must for all visitors!"

  • "Desert bar was the only reason we went and it was ok but the service did not come close to what a four seasons should be."
    Dined on 1/18/2014
  • "We try to dine here at least four times per year. Pricey....sure, but you will always feel you got your money's worth. The food is amazing and the service is unparalleled. Chances are good that you will see a celebrity or two as well."

  • "I haven't been to Four Seasons in a few years and was very pleased with their former restaurant "Aujourd'hui" which offered a more diverse menu and more intimate dining experience. By comparison, Bristol Lounge is a real let down and not what you would expect from a restaurant at this price range. The atmosphere and the service is nothing like the former 4 Seasons restaurant. Service was spotty and waiters look like they should be working in the kitchen. Open floor plan seating presents a very sterile atmosphere. In my opinion, it is lacking in class, style, character and quality. Even though they have cheapened the experience, the prices do not reflect that. Four Seasons is not what it used to be. Too bad."

  • "Definitely enjoyed my meal and the service. Wonderful view."

  • "Amazing service. I didn't like the new changes that make The Bristol less formal - tv's in the bar, no more piano player. It didn't feel as special of a place as I remember from a few years ago when I was a regular there."
    Dined on 1/1/2014
  • "Had an outstading meal of Nantucket Scallops -- a rarity only offered for two months (Dec and Jan). Also, ordered haddock and salmon meals. All meals were what one might expect from this great restaurant. The service was quie good our waiter Nicklas was a perfect host and gentleman. It was an overall great dining experience."

  • "We had the pleasure of dining at The Four Season's Bristol Lounge with our family after Christmas. It has become an annual tradition. The food is phenomenal and the wait staff is superb."

  • "The food/buffet were disappointing for a Four Seasons. There were a few items. And most of them weren't good."
    Dined on 11/9/2013
  • "The most civilized restaurant in Boston with the most professional staff. Service is premium class. No rushing here. Relax in your fashionable jeans or come in a tux or suit..all are welcome here. The food is quite wonderful. The selection is not very broad but the fare is always top notch. I consider this spot to have the best overall ambiance in Boston. Seating is broadly spaced so you can conduct private business or a quiet conversation without fear of being overheard. My favorite resting spot in Boston."

  • "I always enjoy my breakfast at Four Seasons. I go especially for the lemon ricotta pancakes. They are the always the highlight of my dining experience. The view facing the Commons is beautiful and peaceful. Having breakfast at the Bristol Lounge is a real treat. I love sharing the experience with friends and colleagues."

  • "The screaming and shouting from the bar area and from the tables around our table (we were four older women friends) was a very unpleasant experience, for our annual Holiday celebration. We were very disappointed with our evening, and could not remember a previous year (we dine there every year after the Holiday Pops) that was so unpleasant."

  • "I was in for dinner; I order the dover sole special on the recommendation of the waiter. The portion size was smaller than what I expected, especially after the waiter commented how large it was. To my dismay, the sole was not filleted. I asked them to filet it which they did right at my table? I began eating however there were still many bones left in the filet making the dining experience sub-optimal, especially given where I was. The bill came and the sole was $55 which I felt was overly priced but was more upset that the waiter did not allude to the price when offering. Maybe it's my inexperience but I would have been better off with the $22 burger."
