This is a excellent neighborhood location - the pizzas are outstanding, they always have great specials, and the service is always always so pleasant - they really care about their locals and the area. The menu is a bit pricey, but they offer deals all over the web - do simple searches and you can dine here at a bargain - well worth it.

There were three of us and we each had a different kind of meal: risotto, veal, chicken (the one with the sausage). Each thought her meal was very well prepared and the flavors mouthwatering. The staff was extremely attentive (as usual). Highly recommend.

Love this neighborhood staple - consistently good Italian food and efficient enough service. For UES, it is nice without being too scene-y but well dressed stylish crowd, even some families (well behaved kids). I keep going back.

My Fiance and three of our six children had a great time on a Sunday afternoon. We celebrated our oldest son turning 14. The kids and I enjoyed pasta and pizza and my fiance had a salmon entree. Everything tasted great. The service was also good although we could have used a bit more attention as we had to remind the staff a few times that we wanted to surprise the birthday boy with a candle in his dessert. All good though in the end :)

  • Host was unbelivably rude

I am appalled at how rude the Brio host was towards us on Tuesday night. After being at our table for 45 minutes, he told my guest and me that we needed to quickly pay and leave (even though I had made a reservation and we had ordered a normal amount of food) since he had "millions" of other people waiting. When I challenged him by saying that we hadn't even been there for an hour, he started ridiculing me in front of the restaurant. It was shocking, his tone was awful and arrogant. I had been a loyal Brio customer for years and I will never go back there because of this jerk.

Came here on a whim since it was a 1,000 point table. To start, we had the pan-fried artichokes which were as amazing. Entree-wise, we got the vegetable linguine and the salmon, along with a side of mushrooms. All were very well done and steaming hot when they got to the table. When the check came, they gave us a little plate of mini biscotti. So cute. Would definitely come back here.

My wife and I spent a few days on the upper east side and headed to Brio which came highly recommended. It was 5 stars all the way around. Amazing food and stellar service. Our waiter on our first night was conscientious, funny and timely. The food was great and we ended the night so happily that we decided to return again the next night. Night #2 was a totally different restaurant. Focaccia was burned, wine pours were shorter, waiter was disinterested and overall, we left disappointed with our decision to skip other great restaurants in the area to return to Brio. Maybe that guy had a bad night - who knows, but consistency is a mark of a great restaurant, not just a good one.

Brio never disappoints. The variety of dishes is exceptional and each is prepared masterfully. We ate there two nights in a row. Sometimes we just go for pizza and a salad. They have the best thin crust pizza in NYC. The service and friendliness make this, by far, our "go to" neighborhood restaurant.

My husband and I tried the lite menu and enjoyed it. We had chicken caprese, angel hair pasta. The service was excellent. The only negative was the noise but I'm guessing it's so noisy because of the high celings because the restaurant was not full.

It was quite a warm afternoon and upon arriving at restaurant we asked the waiter if they could turn on the air; the air was turned on for 15 minutes then shut off. The manager was sitting in a table next to us and did not move a finger to accomodate us. Service was super slow and the restaurant was nearly empty (it was the first dinner service - 5pm). The bread came after 20 minutes of being seated. Pasta was OK, nothing to write home about AND much too pricey for what it was. 2 entress & 1 soda $70!

Cute neighborhood spot with well intentioned servers but completely forgettable food. Burrata special was neither impressive nor prepared traditionally.
